Chapter 4 Finding out what happened
Luke, the Alpha brothers’ tech guru, wasted no time in connecting to the CCTV cameras of the club, his fingers flying across the keyboard with practiced ease as he accessed the footage of the previous night’s events. With a few deft keystrokes, he pulled up the video feed and began to play it for his brothers, the events of the night unfolding before their eyes in chilling detail.
As the woman in the red dress appeared on the screen, a hush fell over the room, each brother gripped by a sense of foreboding at what they were about to witness.
The woman entered the club with a young man by her side, her body tense with apprehension as she glanced nervously around the room. With a sinking feeling in the pit of their stomachs, the Alpha brothers realized that she was not alone in her plight—that there was someone else involved in the betrayal that had unfolded in their club.
As the woman made her way to a secluded booth, the young man departed, leaving her alone with an older man who appeared to be heavily intoxicated. The Alpha brothers exchanged a knowing glance, their suspicions confirmed by the footage before them. It was clear that the events of the night had been orchestrated by more than one person, and they were determined to uncover the truth behind the betrayal that had rocked their world.
Their attention was drawn back to the screen as the woman’s demeanor changed, her body language shifting from nervous anticipation to outright fear as the older man leaned in closer, his intentions unmistakable. With a surge of adrenaline coursing through her veins, the woman lashed out, her fist connecting with the man’s eye with a sickening thud.
The Alpha brothers winced in sympathy as they watched the scene unfold, their hearts aching at the sight of the woman’s desperate struggle for survival. It was clear that she had been through hell and back, and they were determined to ensure that those responsible for her suffering were brought to justice.
As the footage came to an end, Logan, the eldest and most stoic of the group, turned to his brothers with a steely determination in his eyes.
“Find out all the possible information you can find about all three of them and how they are connected to each other,” he ordered, his voice tight with resolve.
Liam, the muscle of the Alpha brothers, sat at the head of the table, his brow furrowed in concentration as he poured over the report containing all the details about the three individuals involved in the incident at their club. With each passing moment, his anger simmered just below the surface, his fists clenched in barely contained rage as he readied himself to deliver his findings to his brothers.
“Alright, listen up,” Liam began, his voice low and dangerous as he addressed his siblings.
“I’ve got the information we need on these scumbags, and let me tell you, it’s not pretty.”
He cleared his throat and began to read from the report, his voice cold and unwavering as he relayed the details of their investigation.
“First up, we’ve got the old pervert who dares to drug someone in our own building,” Liam spat, his lip curling in disgust. “His name is Alpha Magnus, a 62-year-old Alpha with a penchant for preying on vulnerable women.”
As he spoke, Liam could feel the anger building inside him, a red-hot fury that threatened to consume him whole. How dare this man think he could get away with such despicable behavior under their watch? The very thought made his blood boil with righteous indignation.
“He’s the Alpha of Dark Moon Pack,” Liam continued, his voice dripping with contempt.
“You know, the Pack we’ve heard about but never bothered to do business with because we’re not on the same level? Well, it turns out we were right to steer clear of him, because according to this report, his Pack is on the edge of bankruptcy.”
A low growl rumbled in Liam’s throat as he processed this information, his mind racing with thoughts of retribution and vengeance. How dare this man think he could waltz into their club and prey on innocent women without consequence? The very thought made Liam’s blood boil with rage, and he vowed to make Alpha Magnus pay dearly for his crimes.
The revelation hit the Alpha brothers like a ton of bricks, each word in the report cutting deeper than the last. As they delved deeper into the background of the woman involved in the incident at their club, they uncovered a web of deceit and betrayal that left them reeling.
“Emily Anderson,” Leo muttered, his voice laced with disdain as he read the name on the file in front of him. “Twenty-one years old, jobless, living with her mother who’s suffering from kidney stones.”
The brothers exchanged a somber glance, the weight of Emily’s situation settling heavily on their shoulders. It was clear that she had been dealt a rough hand in life, and the thought of someone taking advantage of her vulnerability made their blood boil with righteous indignation.
“And then there’s this,” Leo continued, his voice dripping with contempt as he read the next line in the report. “Mated to a certain Oscar. I guess he must be the guy she came with yesterday.”
The mention of Oscar’s name sent a ripple of anger through the room, each brother seething with fury at the thought of him deceiving Emily for his own selfish gain. How could he have played with her heart in such a callous manner? The very thought made their blood boil with rage, and they vowed to make him pay dearly for his betrayal.
But as they turned their attention to Oscar’s file, the full extent of his deception became painfully clear. His name was Oscar Johnson, twenty-five years old, mated to Emily and engaged to another woman—Tina, his boss’s daughter. The revelation hit the brothers like a punch to the gut, their anger boiling over at the thought of Oscar stringing both women along with his lies.
Their wolves growled in fury, wanting to go and find Oscar and hurt him for hurting Emily and betraying her like that.
“So, he’s been playing Emily all this while,” Leo muttered, his voice heavy with disgust. “And to think he’s engaged to another woman. What a scumbag.”
Liam’s heart ached as he thought of Emily, the young woman who had been unwittingly caught up in the web of deception spun by her so-called mate, Oscar. He couldn’t help but feel a pang of sympathy for her, knowing that she would be devastated when she learned the truth about the man she had trusted with her heart.
“Poor girl,” Liam muttered, his voice heavy with sorrow. “I wonder how she’ll feel when she finds out about her so-called mate’s scam.”
The other Alpha brothers nodded in agreement, their expressions reflecting a mixture of sympathy and anger at the injustice of it all. They couldn’t fathom how someone could be so heartless as to play with the emotions of an innocent woman for their own selfish gain.
“I hate weak men who play with the emotions of ladies,” Liam continued, his voice laced with disgust. “They’re nothing but cowards, hiding behind their lies and deceit.”
