Chapter 7 An Angrl beside him

As Logan made his way to the bar, his mind was filled with a tumult of emotions. He couldn't shake the feeling of frustration that gnawed at him, the sense that everything was spiraling out of control. From the Rogue Alpha escape to the incident with the drugged girl in their club, it seemed like nothing was going right, and Logan was growing increasingly agitated by the minute. He is the leader of the Alpha Kings and it is his duty to make sure everything is alright and right now, he doesn't even know what to do.

As he approached the bar, Logan signaled to the bartender and ordered a stiff drink, needing something to numb the chaos swirling inside him. The bartender nodded silently and quickly set to work, pouring a generous amount of whiskey into a glass before sliding it across the bar to Logan.

Taking a deep breath, Logan lifted the glass to his lips and took a long sip, relishing the burn of the alcohol as it slid down his throat. For a moment, he allowed himself to savor the sensation, the temporary reprieve from the storm raging inside him.

But as the alcohol began to dull the edges of his emotions, Logan found himself sinking deeper into despair. He couldn't shake the feeling of guilt that weighed heavily on his shoulders, the knowledge that he had failed to keep his people safe. Carlos's escape was a glaring reminder of his own shortcomings as a leader, and Logan couldn't help but feel responsible for the chaos that had ensued.

And then there was the incident with the drugged girl in their club. It was a stark reminder of the dangers that lurked in the shadows, the threats that could infiltrate even the most secure of places. Logan knew that they couldn't afford to let their guard down, not when their enemies were constantly lurking in the shadows, waiting for an opportunity to strike.

With a heavy heart, Logan took another sip of his drink, the bitter taste of the whiskey serving as a harsh reminder of the harsh realities of their world. He knew that he couldn't dwell on the events of the day forever, that he needed to find a way to move forward and take control of the situation before it spiraled even further out of control.

But for now, as he sat alone at the bar with his thoughts, Logan allowed himself to wallow in his misery, to drown out the chaos of the world with the comforting haze of alcohol. Tomorrow would bring its own challenges, but for tonight, he would allow himself this small indulgence, this brief respite from the storm that raged around him.

As Logan made his way down the hallway towards Emily's room, a sense of purpose burned bright within him. Despite the chaos and turmoil that had consumed his thoughts earlier, he found himself drawn to the young woman who had been rescued by Luca. There was something about her, something that tugged at his heartstrings and refused to let go.

As he reached Emily's door, Logan hesitated for a moment, his hand hovering uncertainty over the door knob. He knew that he had no right to intrude on her privacy, but something compelled him to check on her, to make sure that she was okay after the ordeal she had endured.

With a deep breath, Logan pushed open the door and stepped inside the room. The soft glow of the table lamp cast a warm, comforting light over everything it touched, illuminating Emily's sleeping form in a halo of gentle radiance.

Logan approached the bed with quiet reverence, his eyes fixed on Emily's face as she lay there, her chest rising and falling in a steady rhythm. In the dim light of the room, she looked ethereal, like an angel sent from above to bring peace to a troubled soul.

For a moment, Logan simply stood there, his gaze locked on Emily's peaceful expression as he drank in the sight of her. Despite the chaos and turmoil that surrounded them, there was a sense of serenity in her presence, a calmness that washed over him like a soothing balm.

As he watched her sleep, Logan felt a weight lift from his shoulders, a sense of peace settling over him like a warm embrace. In that moment, all of the worries and anxieties that had consumed his thoughts earlier seemed to fade into the background, replaced by a sense of tranquility and calm.

For the first time in what felt like an eternity, Logan found himself able to breathe, to let go of the burdens that had weighed him down for so long. There was something about Emily's presence that seemed to soothe his troubled soul, to offer him a glimpse of hope in the midst of darkness.

With a soft sigh, Logan reached out and gently brushed a lock of hair away from Emily's face, his touch light and tender. In that moment, he felt a connection to her, a bond that transcended words and defied explanation. It was as if they were kindred spirits, two souls united by a shared sense of pain and longing.

As he stood there, bathed in the soft glow of the table lamp, Logan made a silent vow to himself: he would do whatever it took to protect Emily, to keep her safe from harm. No matter the challenges that lay ahead, he would stand by her side, a guardian angel watching over her as she slept.

As Logan sat next to Emily, a sense of calm washed over him. He couldn't explain it, but there was something about her presence that soothed his troubled mind, easing the weight of the world from his shoulders. Gently, he reached out and began to stroke her hair, his touch light and gentle against her soft locks.

The rhythmic motion of his hand moving through her hair was oddly comforting, lulling him into a sense of peace that he hadn't felt in a long time. He watched her sleeping form, her breathing steady and even, her features relaxed in repose. At that moment, she looked more beautiful than ever, bathed in the soft glow of the table lamp beside her bed.

Without realizing it, Logan found himself drifting off to sleep, his exhaustion catching up with him in the quiet of the room. As he lay down beside Emily, his mind finally at ease, he felt a sense of contentment wash over him like a warm wave. For the first time in what felt like forever, he allowed himself to surrender to the embrace of sleep, knowing that he was safe and at peace in the presence of the sleeping angel beside him.
