Chapter 6

Brianna

"Take off your clothes!" Those words rang multiple times in my head, and while standing in front of him, the only thing I feared was keeping him waiting.

Without protesting, I slowly undressed in front of him. He didn't take his eyes off me until I was fully naked in front of him.

He gestured for me to walk closer to him. My feet were initially glued to the floor, but I had to gain composure and force them up.

I surely didn't want to waste his time. My main goal at the moment was to stay alive, and to stay alive, I needed to obey any word that escaped his lips without any intention to irritate him because I feared that if I irritated him, that would lead to my death faster.

I moved closer to him until I was just a few inches away from him.

He stood up, his figure covering mine while he looked down at my eyes. His height alone was enough to intimidate me, but I forced myself to remain where I stood and not move up.

His hands trailed from my neck down to my boobs; I tried not to look away from his, allowing his eyes to blur into mine. His silk black hair fell on his face, complementing his jaw line and pointed nose.

Everything about his face was perfect, but I couldn't say the same for me.

Maybe if Paige were standing in front of him, he would have complimented her beauty by now, but me, even behind this makeup, I wasn't confident in myself.

I swallowed hard, still trying to compose myself while his hand just moved around my boobs.

He placed his hand on my jaw, forcing me to look up at him. With stern and terrified eyes, I met with his gaze before he finally let go of me and walked towards the bed to the bedside table.

There he pulled out a brown envelope and handed it to me. "Put back on your clothes and read the content of the envelope quickly," he ordered.

Without protesting, I drew my clothes back on because I was initially cold and looking for the opportunity to cover myself up.

After that, I sat down on the bed and asked, "What's in here?"

I had no idea because we just got married, and we've gone through all the process. Could this be a letter? A deed? No, I don't think so; a deed should be on thicker paper, I assumed.

He didn't respond to me; instead, he quietly waited for me to open the envelope to reveal a folded parchment contract.

I opened it and read the content of the letter. The letter plainly informed me that Colton was going to give me everything, and by everything, it went on to clarify—security, protection, status, power, his companionship, and everything I wanted.

He included that as long as I answered to his name, the world would fear to include my name in any setting that involved disrespect.

The next line of the letter entailed that I was going to bear his heir and be responsible for the women's affairs of the park, taking up any aspect that a Luna should run in the pack, and in return for these privileges that he will give, I'll have to do one thing on return.

I wanted to ask if birthing his heir was a privilege to me, but if I wanted to stay alive, then I had to learn how to keep my lips shut. Besides, for a lot of ladies—if not 99.9 percent of ladies in the park—they find giving the opportunity to give birth to the Alpha heir a privilege because if you're just a Luna and your mate has another wife, and if that wife births the heir of the park, most of the respect moves to her, and most people only call the Luna out of respect.

Shifting my attention back to the letter, I went on to discover that the only thing he wanted in return was control over my healing ability.

He stated plainly that he wanted it to completely belong to him, and along with that, I needed to obey his every command, and any sign of betrayal from me would lead to my death.

I swallowed hard, reading that very last line. Without being told, I knew what he did to those who went against him.

With him, nothing is ever simple, not even death.

"I reckon that you have done going through the file in your hand by now," he said.

I forced myself to gaze at him before murmuring, "Yes."

He walked over to the vanity and picked up a pen lying there. "So, we can make this clear and very simple." He said, causing me to respond with a nod.

"It's either you stay here and remain prey for your family and clan or sign and leave with me." He said.

Truly, there was always a choice in everything in life. People who whine about having no choice, I sometimes consider them as cowards because there's always something to choose from—some better than another.

I knew with him, my only choice was not to sign it. I'd be dumb to stay with my family because not only would I be prey to them, but I know he'd torment my family's lives, and that included mine.

My grandmother that I was trying so hard to protect will then again be in danger.

My choice right now would determine whether or not he was going to continue his alliance with my father or end it and forcefully take this park from him.

I didn't bother to take the biro from him.

Instead, I bite my fingers so hard that I bleed and press my thumb on the part of the paper that needs my signature.

The second my thumb touched the paper, I noticed a smirk spread across Colton's lips.

He threw the pen he held to the floor and said, "We can now fulfill the contract!”
