Chapter 6

  Elisa's POV

  "You.....yoyou marked me?" I stuttered.

"I couldn't....couldn't help. My wolf....." He collapsed on me as he tried pushing out the words.

Though not what I expected, the sweetness of this session cascaded over me. I wanted a moment like this over and over again.

Roman reached out to the side of my neck he marked me, nibbling it with his tongue, groaning with pride. He had a mate now, I could see the joy on his face. His smile ignited fire in me. It was unbelievable that I just got a transition from Rhys to Roman. All within a night.

"I want it again." I asked a few minutes later as my pussy was still throbbing for his cock. He did have me but this time, I wasn't breathing any longer. I was getting closer to having a seizure.

I wanted it so badly and he quickly jumped at it like what he had been waiting for. Our second climax was going to hit like lightning, I envisioned. Roman and I would drop to the bed, sleeping for the night and savoring the spicy bliss in our dream.

  "It's gonna be even sweeter."

Then it came, the intense rippling inside of me. We were near but then his thrusts paused and he trembled. I turned, blinking in shock and anger.

"What's wrong?" I asked. "Lost all energy?" I was worried.

"Or... are you cursed?" The words blurted out before I could realize. It happens several times in my home pack. Especially with special wolves getting weak or fainting during sex with someone who isn't their mate.

"But I asked you...." My voice went low, my eyes teary. "If you have a girlfriend, a mate....I knew why I asked."

He tried to say some words but collapsed over me, sweat dripping down his back as he kissed my collarbone with trembling lips.

I held him close, still shaking, still not grabbing what happened.

So many thoughts began to fill my head as I stared at him lying there shaking and sweating. He's not likely collapsing from loss of energy, we only attempted two rounds. Even an Omega could go five times in a row but he here as I'd perceived to be an Alpha, why should this happen?

  Something deeper is wrong!

I looked back down again, this time pointing my finger at a sudden, strange spot.

"What's this?" I gasped, right between my right breast was a strange mark glowing faintly. It wasn't a bruise. It was shaped like a bigger hickey, much deeper than a hickey.

It was like a mate mark, the one which appeared on the chest.

"Oh my God," I breathed. This has never occurred before. Roman slowly rose his head up, staring. He never gave me any mark on my breasts. He just sucked, he didn't bite.

Where is this mark coming from?

  What does it mean?

His eyes never left the mark. Horror crossed his face. But then something stranger happened.

Another mark appeared. Right beside the first. This one looked older. Faded. Like it had been tattooed into his skin a long time ago. Roman stared at it in disbelief. "No. No, that's not possible. It can't be."

  Looks like he knows something!

"What is that?" I asked, sitting up and clutching the sheet around me with fright. "Are you cursed, for real?"

"Or......" My thoughts wandered off. "Could it be because I've broken my vows of fidelity to Rhys?"

Roman trembled but didn't answer which only made my heart thump even louder. I stood up from the bed, standing. He stumbled backward, eyes wide, heart pounding so loud I could hear it from here.

"I don't think so, I think it's from my side.... My mate....."

An alarming emotion rushed in. "So you lied to get me?" Tears were already forming in my eyes.

  "She..... she vanished."

"What do you mean?" I balled my fist, feeling he's lying but he looked up in sorrow.

  "She was a vampire."

I jumped up, quickly, shaking. "What? You're mates with a vampire?" The most lethal rivals of werewolves.

He nodded. "To be precise, a hybrid. A vampire from her mom and werewolf from her dad. We loved each other so much. I don't know why. She went missing. I lost my mate. It's been years back, since then....." He paused. "I've been struggling to pick up my lost self."

  Some pity wiped in.

My mouth fell open. Something had already told me, this isn't going to work. I complained right inside of me.

"Please listen to me." He begged. "I really want us to work. After her, you're the only girl my wolf felt bonded to, even when we just knew each other. Just like your Rhys, I've been trying to move on, it seemed difficult until you came."

I smirked, in shock I wasn't his first mate.

"Wait. You should have considered the effects of marking another girl after bloodbounds with a vampire?"

"But it's been three years. Does she want me to die single?" He cried out.

My mind went back. Same time I lost Rhys. We shared the same fate.

"Is this the destiny people have been talking about?"

"Is this coincidence so that we meet?"

As I feared we weren't going to work, my wolf was still pulling in a thousand and one reason we were meant to be together.

Merely imagining this in my head got me shrugging my shoulders and shivering. They look really creepy from those that have managed to live around them, worse of it, those werewolves who have escaped their attacks.

"She was a young girl, quite beautiful, cool and kind, unlike most vampires." He looked away, sinking in thoughts."

I cocked my head with jealousy.

Roman managed to rise up, grabbing me gently with remorseful eyes. "But it's been three years and she never returned. I presume she's dead forever, she will never return."

  He sniffled.

My hands went to my head, then to the two strange marks that appeared on my chest, then back to him.

"What does this mean?" My lips quivered as I asked, pointing to my chest.

"Roman," I whispered. "What does this mean?" I insisted upon his no-answer. He looked at me with guilt. "It means I'm cursed to mark another girl, that's you. And also, probably I've got two fated mates."

"But that's a deadly fate. I haven't heard of it before." Werewolves have only one fated mate. This strange sign on my chest somehow told me that his first mate was still alive and somewhere, the same way I felt Rhys could be alive, trapped somewhere, thinking about me.

"I know," he snapped, then gripped me more. "I want you. It's with you I've really felt what it means to love. With her, I just felt what it meant to be loved."

"I'm not letting you go," he said.

Those were the two clear differences.

"There must be a way to stop it—" I muttered, breathing deeply as my eyes searched Roman's face.

He cleared his throat, putting his face on a serious note. "No." His voice was hard. Final. "One of you has to be rejected. That is the law over here when such things happen. We are from different packs, we have different rules."

I folded my hands across my chest, not knowing what to say again.

"So who are you going to reject?" My face edged up, somehow preparing for some disappointment.

"I can only want you. She loved me but is no more. I promised to give out that love to someone else, to show that person how love is and that's YOU."

I blushed really hard, forgetting about the situation I'd found myself in. I was going to pull him into a big hug when the doorbell rang. My spirit nearly left my body. Peering through my phone screen, it was past midnight.

"Oh my goodness!" I grabbed my chest.

"Who could that be?" I panicked, gazing at Roman. He strengthened up, bent down and put on his clothes, urging me to do the same. Then he leaned and kissed me on the cheek. He gestured to me to follow behind as a man which he was.

"Who could this be?" He muttered. He was worried like me. Unsure.
