From Emily's point of view. 

  I didn't see Simon for the rest of the afternoon.

  I didn't try to look for him either. 

  That was because I knew the reason why he was sad, and yet, I couldn't comfort him. 

  Perhaps Simon would give up on his feelings towards me because of this. ...
