Chapter 6

Zenith is located in the most bustling area of downtown, with an unbeatable view of the city at night. The restaurant's layout and design are incredibly tasteful.

The dining area in the main section features has all window-side seats.

Above the restaurant is luxury hotel, and William had already booked a suite.

The private dining rooms were not completely enclosed, but they offered great privacy.

After William and Rebecca were seated, the waiter recommended several dishes. Rebecca expressed a desire to try them all, and William naturally went along with her wishes.

"Alright, but Mrs. Spencer, this wine-steamed mussel dish is today's special. We just ran out of ingredients, but fresh ones are already on the way, so it will take a little longer."

"That's fine, I can wait. What about you?" Rebecca looked at William.

William smiled tenderly, "Rebecca, my time tonight is entirely yours. Whatever you wish to wait for, I am happy to wait with you."

Rebecca returned the menu back to the waiter, who smiled knowingly. "Alright, Mrs. Spencer, Mr. Spencer, have a wonderful evening."

Elegant piano music played in the private room. Rebecca followed the sound and looked toward the piano outside.

"Would you like try it?"

William had indeed focused all his attention on her tonight. Even though she had only glanced at the piano, he had already discerned what she was thinking.

"I haven't played in a long time."

"I haven't heard you play in a long time either. Consider it your gift to me tonight." William continued to encourage her.

Rebecca nodded. She took off her coat, wearing just her red dress. Her fair skin was on full display, and the two small pearls hanging from her earlobes were delicate and lustrous, underscoring her elegant presence.

"Excuse me, could I use this piano?"

She asked the restaurant's pianist softly.

"Please, go ahead."

Rebecca sat on the piano bench and appraised the aged but well-maintained piano before her. You could tell the restaurant owner at least knew something about pianos.

Her fingertips touched the keys, gently pressing a few notes before producing a series of scattered test sounds. Even just from the testing, her profound skill was obvious.

Rebecca lifted her wrists slightly. She glanced at William, who was also looking at her, causing her heart to beat faster involuntarily.

As the music began, the atmosphere in the restaurant shifted with it. Diners who had been eating were gradually drawn to the music, then captivated by the performer's appearance and presence.

"She looks so familiar. I feel like I've seen her somewhere."

Whispers started.

"Just search online, won't you?"

But even after taking photos of Rebecca and searching online, it was hard to find any results. Instead, someone sharp-eyed spotted William sitting in the private room.

"Look, isn't that William from the Spencer Group?"

This question drew quite a few glances. "William may be the CEO of the Spencer Group, but he keeps a low profile in his private life. I have a friend who knows him."

"So the CEO of Spencer Group is this handsome?. In real life, I've only seen Zenith's owner who could match his looks."

"Is that woman playing the piano his girlfriend?"

"No, I think I saw news about him and his girlfriend a few days ago. It wasn't her."

"Search it, search online!"

So the gossip spread. "Look, it's definitely not this woman."

"It seems like William may keep a low profile, but his private life is pretty complicated."

"William is married!"

"Married?"

"Yeah, but he never mentions his marriage in public, and he's rarely seen bringing family to events. I heard from a friend that his wife is just a housewife."

"So that means the woman playing piano can't be his wife either. If anyone had such a beautiful and talented wife, wouldn't they show her off all the time?"

These scattered comments were soon drowned out by Rebecca's music. The notes danced rapidly beneath her fingertips, and without realizing it, people's hearts began to rise and fall with the melody. Gradually, the diners’ attention shifted from idle gossip about private lives to the music itself.

"She plays so well!"

"Really, this performance is almost at master level. She's just a bit rusty, probably because she isn’t used to this piano."

Zenith's clientele consisted mostly of Emerald City's elite, so naturally there were people who could appreciate music.

"Since we're so curious, why don’t we go over and say hello? William is usually difficult to approach anyway, so this might be a good chance to make a connection."

"Better not. This is Zenith, people come here for romance. It’s clearly a private moment between a couple. Wouldn't it be rude to interrupt?"

Rebecca was immersed in the music, her fingertips flying swiftly across the keys. The music was thrilling.

When the piece ended, Rebecca's fingertips still caressed the keys. After the exhilaration faded, she felt a sense of loss.

Suddenly she remembered the phone call from Aurora a few days ago, and her heart became unsettled again.

She still longed for the stage.

Just then, applause suddenly rang out. A man in a black shirt and sharp trousers leaned against the piano, clapping for her. Rebecca looked up and met the stranger's gaze. Assuming he was just appreciating her music, she smiled, stood up, and nodded slightly. "Thank you."

But just as she finished thanking him, she heard this handsome man lean down close to her and say in a low voice, "Lonely housewife, midnight fairy—you really are quite changeable. I almost didn't recognize you."

Why did this voice sound so familiar? And that teasing tone?

She blinked, and by the time she realized who he was, the man had already walked away. Rebecca could only stomp her foot in frustration. It was that doctor who had eavesdropped on her conversation with William in the hallway that day!

Just as she was feeling annoyed, another figure appeared behind her. William's hand gripped her smooth shoulder. He had walked over without her noticing.

"Who was that? Do you know him?"

Rebecca cleared her throat. "No, I don't."

"What did he say to you?"

"Nothing much, just complimenting my playing."

Rebecca really didn't want to mention that strange man. Thinking of him reminded her of the humiliation she suffered at the hospital that day, and the argument with the Brown Family.

She didn't want to think about anything unpleasant tonight.

William glanced in the direction the man had left, narrowing his eyes slightly, but he didn't press her further.

All the dishes had been served, except for the wine-steamed mussels.

"Is it good?"

William had thoughtfully cut the steak into perfect pieces How could Rebecca say it wasn't good?

"If you like it, we can come here often."

Rebecca paused and didn't respond.

William checked the time, his lips curving slightly. "Rebecca,"

"Hmm?"

"Look outside."

Rebecca looked out the window curiously, then saw countless twinkling lights gradually appear in the dark night sky.
