Chapter 2 Fifteen years ago

Allie’s POV

Allie!! You better hurry; the coronation isn't going to start itself, you know. My mom’s voice echoed from downstairs.

You have very terrible taste in clothes; you know that, right? I startled at the voice behind me.

Lucifer! I called out, holding my chest in relief. You scared me, I said as I turned back to the mirror to adjust my hair.

Come on now, Allie, it's been fifteen years. Don't tell me you haven't gotten used to this already.

How can I get used to you popping up on me, especially in times like this? I said, stating the obvious as I was almost half-naked.

Right, he replied. Sorry about that; I just want to remind you that whatever outfit you pick, I automatically fit in the same, so you might want to fix that sh*t….. I mean…. the clothes you're wearing, he said.

What's wrong with what I'm wearing? I asked with furrowed brows.

Everything, friend…. Everything… he replied as he walked up to the wardrobe, brought out a very fly white gown that brought out my curves, and to go with it, he used a scarf to knot a tie around my neck and paired it with a pair of sneakers.

Voila! He said in excitement, grinning from ear to ear, and in that instant, his outfit changed into something similar but not a gown, just the male version of what I had on.

Now this right here is one phenomenon I'm yet to understand between us both. It's been fifteen years since he first appeared to me and fifteen years of trying to figure out who or what he was.

I'd refused to mention him to my parents again since the seer incident five years ago. I'd just been here living in the shadows of my twin sister because apparently, since my parents found out about the darkness in me, I became the black sheep of the family whom they've been trying to curtain, and that's why they sent me to the palace academy meant for elves who volunteered to be soldiers, except I didn't volunteer; my dad did on my behalf. I guess we can say it's complicated.

You know dad isn't going to approve of this outfit. I said with a hitch of sadness in my voice as I stared at the mirror admiring my gown.

But before he could reply, a familiar voice echoed behind me.

Then why bother wearing it if you already know the outcome? Aria asked.

Great, of course she was eavesdropping, I mumbled under my breath.

If you don't want Mom and Dad to eat you alive courtesy of me, you'd better slide into something else; we’ll see you at the ceremony. We're leaving.

Wait, what? Are you guys not waiting for me? I asked.

Hell no, not when you're moving this sluggish…. Plus, there's no way I'm letting you ruin today for me, especially not when I know Prince Xavier is going to pick me to be his bride and queen of the elves in the whole of silver city today, she retorted.

How could you be so sure? I asked, wondering what she was up to this time.

Just you wait and see, she replied. You already know that even with fairies, elves, and dragons combined. I'm the prettiest girl in the whole of Silver City; it's just too bad we share a face. She replied with an eye roll before slamming the door shut.

Remind me between the both of you, who's the eldest? Lucifer asked.

I am, I said with an eye roll.

Well, then it's a good thing she can't see me; otherwise, I would have loved to teach her a lesson or two, he said through gritted teeth.

She's still my sister, Lucifer. I said, going through my closet to find something else to wear.

And I'm what? He asked with furrowed brows.

I paused for a while to think about his question, turned my gaze to meet him, and said: hmm…you…you're just someone I'm still trying to figure out. I've got so many questions about you and why I'm the only one who can actually see you. Are you dead? Are you alive? Who are you truly?

And like I've always said… he began. I don't know; I lost my memory from the moment I appeared to you. We both said in unison, making me sigh in frustration.

Yeah, right, I remember. But that only makes everything a lot harder, I said softly.

Well, your evil twin sister owes me a fortune for insulting my style; now I'm stuck with your awful dress sense for all eternity.

Oh, come on now, that's not true; I'm not that bad, I said, walking towards the door, heading out of my room.

Oh, trust me, I’m a man of my word, and everybody knows Lucifer never lies, he replied as he walked behind me.

But I just moved wondering whom he referred to as everybody when I'm the only one who can actually see him.

I got out of the house and started finding my way to the Silver Palace—alone, although not totally alone, as Lucifer was keeping me company—when a frost dragon stopped in front of me, making me flinch while Lucifer gasped for air because the dust got into his nostrils.

What the? Are they always this careless with riding dragons? He asked amidst the dust.

Going somewhere? A familiar voice echoed from on top of the dragon, and to my surprise—you wouldn't guess whom the rider was.

Who's he? Lucifer asked, hearing my thoughts because apparently he can do that too sometimes but only when I let him.

Prince Ty…. The one and only Prince Ty, prince and next in line to the throne of all the dragons, I mumbled under my breath with dreamy eyes as I stared at him, already feeling a tingling sensation between my thighs.

Uhm… Allie, you might want to control whatever is going on down there, Lucifer said, swallowing hard.

Now would be a great time for you to shut the hell up, Lucifer, I said through gritted teeth, letting out a forced smile without looking at him.

What did you say? Prince Ty’s voice echoed in my ears, jolting me out of my reverie.

Uhm…uh…? Nothing… I just said I was going to the Silver Palace for Prince Xavier’s coronation, I replied, letting out a light chuckle.

That's not what you said…. Lucifer growled.

Lucifer, please, I beg of you, shuuuttt upppp… I said with my smiley face still on.

Oh, today's your lucky day then, because that's where I'm headed. You don't mind if I give you a lift, now do you? He asked.

No. Yes, Lucifer and I said in unison, making me shoot him deadly glares and that's when my eyes moved in between his legs and saw his rod down there standing at attention making me widen my eyes in shock.

Are you really being serious right now Lucifer?

Well don't blame me, I did tell you to control whatever was going on with you down there. He fired back.

And that's when it dawned on me, I was the one making him do that to himself because apparently he can feel whatever I feel.

Shit!! I cursed under my breath forcing a lump down my throat as I stared at prince Ty.

Are you okay? He asked with concern in his voice.

Of course, of course I am, why wouldn't I be? I replied as I approached the dragon climbing its back.

Hold on tight, he said as he gave the dragon a nodge to fly while I just sat there enjoying every moment of it.

I closed my eyes and took in his scent but then I felt someone's eyes on me and when I opened mine, it was Lucifer sitting right in front of Prince Ty shooting my death glares. Well, it is moments like this, I thank the goddess that only I can see him, I thought but then it hit me Prince Ty can't see him; only I can. And I wasn't ready to let him ruin this moment for me, so all I had to do for the whole day was ignore him, and everything was going to be fine.

But I was wrong.
