Chapter 3 Alpha Bella.

Bella’s pov. 

“You cannot be serious!” Elder Elian yelled furiously, slamming his hand down on the table in front of him, “you’re the Luna! How In the goddess do you expect to be the alpha too?”

Taking a deep breath to calm Tundra and myself down, I turned my gaze back towards Elian and smiled, “I am the only person who can lead this pack, no one else knows it the way I do. Let the pack have the leader they deserve,” I said confidently, looking him right in the eyes with a neutral expression on my face.  

Elder Elian went to say something when another elder named, Mildred interrupted him, “we need a strong shifter to lead this pack, not a… girl, who’s never shifted in front of her own pack. Why don’t we sign a contract marriage with an allied pack? That way we’d know the pack would be in good hands,” She said, not surprising me with her answer, looking at anyone but me, expecting the others to agree with her. 

“No,” I replied in a deadly whisper, feeling my anger rising, not allowing anyone to say anything else. 

“What did you say to me?” Elder Mildred said in anger, her face turning red as she looked me in the eyes. 

“No, you will not be selling me off to some alpha because you think I’m incapable of leading the same pack I’ve been leading for seven years. You don’t get to stand before me and tell me I will sign a contract marriage. I won’t do it, I will be this pack's alpha, I don’t need your permission,” I said before walking out calmly, elder Elian smirking slightly at me as I closed the doors behind me. 

Heaving a heavy sigh I decided to go back home, I needed to see Megan. Maybe she can calm my raging mind. 

With hurried steps I quickly made my way back to my floor. As I opened the door I could hear Megan’s giggles from the living room, I took a peak and saw her and Martha painting flowers together, Megan had paint in her hair and on her clothes. 

An enticing aura surrounding the room. 

Seeing her happy made me smile, but deep down a pain bloomed in my heart at the fact her father could abandon her so easily. 

It just made no sense. 

She’s perfect. 

“Hey, my beautiful girl,” I said softly, walking towards my daughter to give her a big hug. 

“Mommy!” Megan screeched, putting her painting down and rushing towards me with her arms wide open. 

I picked her up and squeezed her as tightly as I could, not caring about the paint smearing all over me, “mommy!” Megan giggled, “look at all this!”

She gestured towards the paintings they’ve created and the paint all over her hands with glee. 

“Wow, baby!” I said with excitement, matching her enthusiasm, “they look amazing, you’re an artist!”

She giggled some more as I set her back down on the ground, “thank you, Martha. You’re a life saver,” I said to the old omega who I’ve grown to really care for. 

The one person in this pack that had my back. 

“Anytime, Luna. It’s an honour to care for the young heiress,” she said with a small bow of respect, smiling softly at me, “shall I clean this up?”

Looking toward the mess everywhere I shook my head no, “don’t worry about it, Martha. You guys had fun today and I’ll clean it all before I go to bed, I always appreciate you watching her,” I muttered while waving her off, glad for the help she so willingly gives me all of the time. 

Martha walked away with a small smile on her face, making me smile in return. 

Megan scurried off to her room, giving me some time to send a message. 

I grabbed my phone from my back pocket and went to send a message to my best friend, Brooke. Who is a human I was roommates with in the human city. 

Long before thinking I’d be a Luna, let alone an alpha. Shaking my head I started to type out my message. 

Bella- I can’t make it over tonight. I have stuff I need to take care of and I have to watch Megan and put her to bed. I can’t expect Martha to watch her again and you know I don’t trust any one else with her. 

Instantly her reply came through. 

Brooke- I will come to you. Just make sure your pack is aware. I don’t want to become wolf food. 

I laughed to myself as I read the last part of her message. Always the one to joke in serious situations. 

Bella- I’ll be expecting you. 

I put my phone away and linked the warriors on patrol and let them know Brooke will be coming by tonight. 

Laughing again at the thought of them eating her. 

Thinking to myself about a few things I realized I will need to set up a pack meeting and let the pack know what has happened to their alpha.  

They won’t be happy. 

He didn’t just betray me, he betrayed the pack too. 

Placing my head in my hands I sighed, knowing that conversation won’t end well. 

“Mommy, can you watch a show with me?” I heard Megan ask from behind me, startling me out of my thoughts. 

“Sure, go put one on, I’ll be there in a few minutes okay?” I responded, going to the fridge to grab some drinks while we watched. 

Grabbing a couple ginger ales I walked into my room and saw Megan was all snuggled up under my blanket with the movie Elf on. 

Her eyes looked droopy and she couldn’t hold back her yawns.

I chuckled slightly to myself but didn't say anything knowing she’ll just protest about going to bed and insist on watching this together. 

About halfway through the movie I could hear her light snoring and decided to sneak outside for another smoke. 

I went out onto my balcony this time and lit my cigarette up.

I looked around and didn't see many pack members out and about. 

Knowing they all must be going to bed too. 

Looking towards the gate I saw that Brooke had already arrived and whatever she needed to say must be important if she couldn’t wait until later. 

Putting my cigarette out I linked the guard at the gate to lead her to the alpha floor. 

Waiting outside near the staircase I can hear Brooke's heavy footsteps all the way at the bottom, groaning to myself, I take a few steps away and mentally asked myself why she has to be so loud. I don’t remember her being this way when we lived together. 

“Bella!” She said while gasping for air, hands on her knees in a hunched over position, “you won’t believe what I just saw.”
