Chapter 5

My gaze froze on the other side of the bed.

Alpha Ryan and Beta Emily were lying naked together, their limbs entwined so closely as if they didn't care that I was there at all.

Her head rested on Alpha Ryan's chest, his arm wrapped around her, a serene and satisfied look on his face.

And I, standing there, could only feel rage, betrayal, and endless pain.

"Alpha Ryan!" I couldn't help but shout, my voice filled with shock and anger.

They quickly pulled away from each other, Beta Emily hurriedly grabbing the sheet to cover her body.

Alpha Ryan opened his eyes and looked at me, still seemingly not fully awake. "Julie," he muttered, his tone impatient, "Did you not knock? Is this what you wanted to do?"

I clenched my fists, barely holding it together. "You and her... doing this here, Alpha Ryan! How could you do this?"

Alpha Ryan rubbed his eyes, looking at me with a clear sense of displeasure on his face. "I thought you'd accepted that our marriage is open, Julie. Why are you doing this?"

Beta Emily finally picked up her clothes, got dressed, and walked over to me with a mocking smile. "Julie, looks like you really didn't expect this, huh? Do you really think you can control Alpha Ryan? You didn’t even notice we were together. Did you really think you mattered that much?"

Her words felt like needles piercing my heart. I felt like I was on the verge of breaking down, but I forced myself to stay calm. I took a deep breath, gritting my teeth, trying not to let my emotions take control.

I stopped looking at them and turned to leave the room, heading for the guest room.

I opened the door and saw my luggage carelessly tossed aside.

Beta Emily had clearly begun to take control of everything here, even throwing my personal belongings around.

Every piece of clothing, every photo, was disrespectfully thrown on the floor.

As I was packing my things, Alpha Ryan suddenly appeared in the doorway, looking shocked and confused. "Julie, what are you doing?"

I turned around and looked at him, coldly responding, "I’m moving into the guest room. Since you and Beta Emily are so close, I think whatever we had is over."

His face changed, clearly not expecting me to make such a decision so quickly.

He didn't respond immediately, just stood there staring at me in a daze. "You can't do this, Julie," he finally said, "You can't just leave me like this."

I continued packing my things, not even sparing him a glance. "I'm no longer the obedient woman you think I am, Alpha Ryan. I won’t tolerate everything between you and her anymore." My voice was as cold as ice. "This is no longer your decision."

Alpha Ryan stood there stunned, clearly unable to accept this. "What are you doing, Julie? You know you can't live without me."

"Really?" I gave a sarcastic smile, "Maybe you're right, but you don't understand what I want now."

At that moment, Beta Emily walked in with a smug smile on her face, as if she had been waiting for this moment. "Julie, you’re so easy to defeat. I knew Alpha Ryan would never give up on me." Her tone was filled with pride. "I always knew you wouldn't stay with Alpha Ryan. You're just a failure."

Her words made me tremble, but I knew that in this moment, I couldn’t be weak anymore.

I wouldn’t let my emotions dictate my actions.

Everything from the past no longer mattered. What mattered now was returning to myself, regaining control of my own destiny.

"You’ve won, Beta Emily." I responded coldly, "But you’ve forgotten that a true winner doesn't build their victory on someone else's pain."

She smiled even more smugly, as if she had already secured her position as the victor. "Julie, you're really pathetic, thinking you can change anything. Alpha Ryan is mine, and he will never look at you again."

I took a deep breath and walked toward the door. "I don't need your victory. Alpha Ryan and your relationship, do as you please." I turned to glance at him. "But I want you both to know, losing me will be the biggest price you’ll ever pay."
