Chapter 7

  Hazel

Two weeks passed and I didn't hear anything from Sebastian's mate. I did my background check with the help of Monalisa, one of the east Lunas who is my friend.

Alexas is Alpha Raymond's daughter from the West. She was invited in annual ceremony by her cousin Alpha Leonard, the Alpha of the Silver Moon pack where the annual ceremony took place.

She's the only child of Alpha Raymond. Her mother died while giving birth to her and she was raised single handedly by her father.

Monalisa dug deep and even brought me a picture of Alexas. Even though I didn't want to admit it because it hurt damn much. Alexas is a beautiful woman. She has long brown hair, blue eyes which resembled Sebastian's and an hourglass figure.

"I hope she won't show up in our peaceful lives again," Mia told me and I didn't know how to respond to her statement.

"I hope so too."I told my wolf and she was quiet. I heaved a sigh and closed the files that I was going through inside my Luna's office.

Sebastian was not around, he had gone to the city to take care of something and promised to come back to me before the day breaks. Fear crept in my heart as I watched his car leave the pack,I stared at it until it disappeared.

I couldn't help but get afraid of Sebastian bumping into his fated again. I wanted to hold him back but I chose to keep all my worries and fears to myself because I wouldn't be following him around forever.

Sebastian assured me that he would never leave me every single day. He held my hand whenever we walked together and even kissed me in public just to prove to the world that I was still his lawfully wedded wife. The Luna of mountain pack. His sweet hazel.

Some of the pack members were not happy about it, especially the jealousy type like Simon.

Simon and other committee councils pressured Sebastian to bring the rightful Luna and claim her but he never listened to them. They had no choice but obey his decision because Sebastian is the Alpha. Simon hated me even more and her daughter Arabella laughed at me, reminding me that my life was only hanging on a string.

Some council were on my side, especially Pamela, one of the old ladies who knew how it felt. She understood me and knew whatever I was going through. She comforted me and encouraged me not to give up.

She acted as a Godmother and I was grateful to her. The nightmare about my mother was persistent. Sometimes I woke up in the middle of the night, sweating and my heart pounding wildly. Sebastian held me in his arms and calm me down, assuring me that he won't leave no matter what.

I looked through the window and realized the sun was setting. Heaving a deep sigh, I stood up from the highly backed chair and walked out of my office and went straight to our home.

I arrived at home and my heart dropped. Sebastian was not around and the night was falling. Closing my eyes momentarily, I heaved a deep sigh and headed to the kitchen to distract myself by cooking.

"He will come back to us, "I mumbled under my breath, convincing myself because that was the only way I could hold on.

I decided to prepare pasta, his favorite dish.

"Anybody home? "I heard his husky voice, he was shouting from the living room. A sigh of relief escaped my lips and I blinked countless times to hold back tears.

"Our mate is back, he has fulfilled the promise that he made to us. "Mia purred in my head and I could feel the excitement in her voice.

"I'm in the kitchen preparing dinner for us, My love. "I shouted from the kitchen and a smile graced my lips.

"Hmm…that smells so good. "He said and I turned my head to the door to look at him. His hair was a mess, falling on his forehead. However, that didn't stop him from looking handsome.

I looked at him, not believing that he had really came back to me. A deep frown settled on his handsome features.

"What's wrong? Why are you looking at me like that? "He grumbled and I smiled.

"You really came back? "I couldn't help but ask. He walked towards me and cupped my face, then wiped tears in my eyes and that's when I realized that I was crying.

I had become attached to my emotions since the incidence. The trauma and nightmares had taken control of my emotions.

"Yes I came back to you. I came back to my sweet Hazel. "He said and his lips curved into a smile.

"I know you don't trust me because of what happened. I understand where you're coming from and I promise to earn back your trust. I know you didn't believe it when I told you that I would come back. But don't worry, I understand. "I nodded my head to his words and I was glad that he understood me.

He planted a gentle kiss on my forehead and I smiled at him, wiping the remaining tears using the back of my hand.

Seb wrapped his strong arms around me tightly and pulled me impossibly closer, burying his face in my neck and inhaled my scent deeply. As though reminding himself how I smelled.

My stomach grumbled and Sebastian chuckled.

"We need to feed you first. I swear you'll need that energy tonight." Sebastian said, his lips curving into a wicked smile. He let go and helped me to prepare the table.

We ate on one plate, he fed me and I was happy. Sebastian caught me staring and raised his brow at me.

"What? Have I grown a third nose? "He asked teasingly and I smiled at his jokes and we continued to eat.

I didn't want him to know what was going on in my head. I wished this moment could last forever. I couldn't help but think about Alexas.

What if one day she pops and takes him?. Fear crept into my heart whenever the thought crossed my mind.
