Chapter 1

"I, Austin David, leader of the Blood Moon Pack, hereby reject you, Hannah Sanders, to be my Luna and mate," Austin declared, his voice heavy with rage as the wolf bond between them severed.

"No..." Hannah cried out, collapsing to the ground. "Why would you do this? Today was supposed to be my happiest day..."

Today was Hannah's eighteenth birthday, the day she was destined to find her mate and also meet her wolf. Since birth, she had been fated to be Austin's mate, but now, he had shattered her heart.

"Why?" Austin's voice boomed with anger. "Because your wolf finally emerges today? Am I supposed to celebrate that? You will forever remain nothing more than my servant."

After the death of her parents, Austin had relegated Hannah to the role of a maid within the Blood Moon Pack. She had been treated as nothing more than a pawn in their games.

Austin, who had once shown her kindness, had now turned his back on her. His betrayal cut deeper than she could have ever imagined.

"I hate you, Austin," she cursed through tear-filled eyes.

The breaking of the wolf bond sent waves of pain through her, leaving her legs weak and unable to support her. She remained on the ground, her body trembling with the weight of rejection.

"Yes, hate me," Austin sneered. "But have you completed your chores? The dishes need washing, and the floors must be swept and mopped," he reminded her coldly.

"You promised I wouldn't have to do anything today," Hannah pleaded. "Please, Austin, after rejecting me, I don't think I can bear to do anything."

"You will do as I command," Austin insisted sternly.

"You'll have to force me," Hannah retorted defiantly.

At that moment, Sarah, Hannah's best friend, burst into the room. Hannah had hoped for support from her friend, but instead, Sarah spoke in defense of Austin.

"How dare you speak to your Alpha like that?" Sarah scolded, her loyalty to the pack evident in her tone.

"Sarah, not you," Hannah cried out, feeling betrayed by her closest friend.

“You’ll refer to me as your Luna,” Sarah cautioned, her voice laced with authority. “Don’t you dare call me by name.”

Hannah's confusion was evident as she questioned, “What do you mean by that? You're my best friend.”

“Not anymore,” Sarah declared, cutting off any further conversation. “Austin, you haven’t told her?”

Hannah turned to Austin, hoping for an explanation, but he remained silent as Sarah continued to berate her.

“As an Alpha, I need a Luna to make the pack stronger,” Austin explained. “Sarah will be the new pack Luna.”

Tears streamed down Hannah's cheeks as she protested, “You can’t do this to me,” before collapsing to the floor.

“Shut up. Now get to work,” Austin commanded harshly. “Tonight we’re having dinner with Alpha Liam of the Crescent Moon Pack, one of the strongest packs in the territory. You’ll have to behave yourself while preparing for this event.”

“Why?” Hannah pleaded, her voice filled with desperation. “Why did you do this to me?”

“You’ll listen to me!” Austin grabbed her chin and forced her to look at him. “Go and make dinner ready!” With a shove, he pushed her out of the door.

Alone in her room, Hannah sobbed on her bed, her heart shattered by Austin's rejection. But amidst her tears, she heard a comforting voice.

“It’s me, Lu, your wolf,” her inner voice reassured her. “Hannah Sanders, stop crying.”

“Oh, my wolf,” Hannah whispered through her tears. “Why are you coming now? My mate has rejected me already.”

“This is not the end of life. Don’t give up,” her wolf consoled her, offering a glimmer of hope.

That night, Alpha Liam arrived at the Blood Moon Pack, accompanied by his beta, Luke, he approached Alpha Austin and Luna Sarah, who were eagerly awaiting his arrival.

“Welcome, Alpha Liam, to my humble home,” Alpha Austin greeted warmly, gesturing with open arms.

“We are happy to have you in our home,” Luna Sarah added graciously, offering a smile.

Alpha Liam smirked in response and exchanged handshakes with Austin before announcing, “I brought a present for you both. Beta Luke, get the gifts from the car.”

His beta promptly obeyed, walking to the back of the car to retrieve the gifts from the trunk.

“Alright, Alpha Liam,” he acknowledged before proceeding inside.

Austin made way for Liam to enter, leading him into the dinner hall where a variety of delicacies had been prepared by Hannah. Despite the recent severance of her wolf bond, she had tirelessly worked to create a beautiful meal for the occasion.

“I see you already have a Luna. Your pack is strong now, for the upcoming war,” Alpha Liam remarked, raising his glass of red wine in a toast.

“Yes, it surely is,” Austin chuckled, taking a bite of his meal. “I'm hoping the same for your pack.”

“What do you mean?” Liam questioned immediately, offense evident in his tone, eager to clarify the matter.

“You don’t have a mate. How are you going to join in the war? I hear you’re losing your power,” Austin explained with a smug grin.

“Who told you that?” Liam's voice rose slightly, bristling at the accusation. “I have a mate.”

As the powerful leader of the Blood Moon Pack, he was expected to have a mate, yet he had never seen the need for one.

As Liam entered the dinner hall that evening, he felt a strong connection with a wolf. To his surprise, that wolf turned out to be the beautiful maid who had served him. Despite his desire to tell her she was his mate and embrace her, he refrained from doing so.

“That’s a lie,” Alpha Austin laughed, relishing the opportunity to humiliate a powerful yet mateless Alpha.

“In fact, my mate is right here,” Alpha Liam interjected, casting a meaningful glance behind Austin.

Just then Hannah could feel her wolf filled wih joy, Hannah was puzzled as she didn't know what made he wolf so joyful

“Hannah, Alpha Liam is our mate,” Hannah's wolf suddenly spoke up in her head as she stood behind Austin.

“What?!” Hannah exclaimed, her heart racing with shock.

“If that’s true, where is your mate then?” Alpha Austin demanded, turning around as if searching for Liam's mate.

“There she is,” Alpha Liam said, pointing directly at Hannah. “She has always been there, waiting for me.”

Hearing those words, Hannah’s heart sank. The Moon Goddess had given her a second chance at having a mate.
