Chapter 22 Twenty two

Calista’s POV

I didn't expect the elders to accept my decision so easily, but seeing one of them in my office so early in the morning was unexpected but not surprising.

After all, getting rid of me was important to them.

And every opportunity to get rid of me wasn't something they would overlook.

I wasn't expecting a visit this soon, nor was I expecting the opposite. Besides, our last meeting was a few days ago and didn't go well for them.

I slowly shut the door behind me and walked over to take my seat, but before that he immediately got up on his feet.

His sharp gaze pierced through mine as if looking through my soul, but I didn't back away.

He looked away in seconds as my alpha demeanor surpassed his.

"I wasn't expecting you."

At least not this soon.

He stepped out of his seat.

His expression cutting through his sharp eyes.

Calm. Cold and serious.

"You maybe your father's child but you are fit to be alpha." His deep voice cut through and a frown settled in my eyes.

" If that is what you think them I doubt I will be able to convince you, elder Marcus." I started in cold voice, trying so hard to not lose my cool.

" You know I'm not the only one that thinks like that." his sharp eyes stared into mine like he was waiting for a reaction.

" Then I can't convince the others too." I shrugged and tbe man began laughing.

" I have always known this," he bluffed at the very end of his laughter.

" Always known what?" I asked with a frown.

" Always know you will be this stubborn. Hard to tame." He whispered with a sigh.

"If you are here to convince me to give away the pack, then don't waste your breath." I told him, but he didn't blink or say anything for close to a minute.

He knew very well what I meant. My father entrusted this pack to me and so I wouldn't give it up.

"Listen girl, do you think you are untouchable? You are not impossible yo break." He stepped closer toe.

" This pack is way older than you can ever imagine and a lot of alphas have gone and come." He spoke calmly, but the hint in his tone was hard to miss.

He was threatening me!

" You are jo different from those alpha's." He continued.

" You are just stubborn." He added.

" But people like you certainly have weakness." he threatened.

But I wasn't the least scared of him.

" You are threatening me, Marcus." I went in by his name.

Did he think he could scare me?

" No, I'm telling you what could happened if you continue playing stubborn." He went back to his seat.

" Accept alpha Cletus' proposal and this will be over. " He looked up briefly.

" The you g man might not be a saint but you should be happy someone is willing to take you as their mate and make you their Luna." He said with little patience.

His words collided with an old wound but I refused to show weakness.

" And if I refused?" I asked and he scoffed.

" I wouldn't refuse such offer if I were you." He got up from his seat.

" I will give you time to make a decision." He nodded.

And with one stern look, he turned to the door.

" And if I refuse?" He stopped to look at me.

" You will make the best decision, I believe so." He smiled and left.

Good luck trying get ride of me.

The following days I received a direct attacks from two rogue when running in the woods.

I managed to tame them both without slashing life out of them.

The next day wolfsbane was detected in the pack water source.

There was water shortage for almost days before it was resolved.

The attack kept coming.

On one hand were the elders and tbr other was my uncle.

The only wolf who could tell us what happened to my father and his his beta was found dead in the dungeon.

I kept him for five years. Not wanting to kill him.

Ray tortured him day and night to get him to speak but he never did.

I made sure he survived all those painful tortures because I wanted him to tell me everything.

Now there was nothing left from that night.

I didn't know how I was going to get answers?

Answer to my questions.

Answers to why my father was brutally murdered?

And who ordered his murdered?

I thought the worse has happened until intruders invaded the pack.

Warriors from the Blue Moon Pack.

Alpha Zane's men.

Yes. Warriors from the Blur Moon pack in the crystal pack.

For some reasons their arrival didn't post as a threat like it seemed.

They were everywhere.

The mansion mostly.

I didn't know what I was hoping when I didn't pressure them out my of the pack.

They were warriors of the Blue Moon Pack and that only meant one thing.

I didn't want to believe it but was the crystal pack under some kind of investigation?

He sent his warriors without any explanation.

It was only right I demand one.

First he didn't have the right to send his warriors into my pack without my knowledge which was why I was here in the Blue Moon Pack.

Beta Sternly stood at the door as I stood in front of his desk.

" Get your warriors out of my pack." I didn't have the patient to ask him why he did it.

" You won't ask why?" He leaned back in his chair. His eyes not leaving mine.

" Is that important?" I titled my head to the side and he chuckled.

The smile vanished the second it appeared.

" Long time no see." He said as if we were friends or acquaintance.

" We are not close, alpha Zane."

Something flickered in his eyes and silence swallowed the room.

" Right but we will be." He got out of his chair. Walked over and leaned against his desk.

I wanted to step back but my feet didn't move.

" If you want an ecplainstion, I can give you one.

" He said looking back at me.

Why was I having this conversation with him?

The rumors forgot one thing about Zane Bluemede. He was a made man.
