Zane's POV

" Why they sudden decision?" Thomas asked and I chuckled slightly.

The old man have travelled from his pack down here to find out why I have cancelled my engagement with his daughter.

Well, it wasn't entirely my decision to cancel it besides, I didn't have a choice especially when my beast want no one but his mate.

The stubborn female of all times. A thought of her brings a smile to my face but men like Thomas couldn't see my smiles because they werent visible.

Not meant to visible for anyone e to see aside her.

" If you really I dist I do t have a choice but tell you." His face droppeda little bit he held his head high.

" No, alpha Zane. It's okay if you don't want to tell me.iwiu.derstand but can you reconsider your decision?" He pleaded but that wasn't possible.

" Mariam is my only daufhter. I want her to settled with a man who can protect her and make her happy her e tire life. Someone e who would take care of my pack when I'm no longer able to." His words were touching.

" And I have no doubt you will do all that." He finished and I stood up fromy seat.

I lighted a cigarette and inserted in my mouth as I walked to the window.

I let my back fave him for a few seconds before turning to face him.

" You thought wrong, Thomas." I said and he widened his eyes.

" I can't give any of what you wanted to your daughter." I let him know.

" If your daughter is that precious to you The I think you should find a better mate for her." I looked up at him and he shook his head immediately.

" That is not what I meant. Alpha Zane. Mariam us a good girl, she wouldn't complain about anything." He said and and I pushed out smoke fromy mouth.

" I don't know if my mate will like the idea." I said and alpha Thomas gasped in shock.

" Alpha Zane, did you just say mate?" I nodded without hesitation.

" She is very controlling, my men are already submitting to her." Last night scene crossed my mind and I smiled slight before heading back to sit in my chair.

" You have a mate?" He whispered to himself as if talking to himself.

" What about my daughter?" He looked up in dissapointment which I didn't fucking care.

His dissapointment was jo e of my fucking business.

" I will ask her if she want to share." I told Thomas and he hesitantly nodded.

" I will wait to hear from you." He said as he got out of hid seat.

" I will make sure you get a reply immediately." I said before he shit tbe door.

I dropped the cigarette in the ashtray and headed to the door.

Sternly was waiting for me outside beside the car.

" Crystal pack." I said as I slide I to the seat.

The car ride was longer than I wanted it to lady but at least we managed to land on time.

My men were where I wanted them to be. The mansion was crowded with security.

I my eyes turned cold when I walked into the mansion, into her office and saw her with Ray.

My fave shifted as my jaw tightened.

I already gave out orders to my men to not let him get anywhere close to her.

I should have known she would slide through it without problems.

" You disregarded my orders." I spoke and she looked up at me.

There was no shock on her face just pure annoyance.

I took long stride towards her and she got up on her feet.

Meeting my eyes.

I suddenly averted my gaze to her beta who was literally standing close to her than he should.

" What are you doing here?" For some reasons her words pierced my chest but not enough to hurt me.

She protects everyone including those who would hurt her but leaves me unprotected.

" I will be in the living room."

The yound beta walked out before I lost my temper.

He would see the next minute if I did.

" You disobeyed me, Calista." I said and she raised a brow.

" I don't answer to you. This isn't your pack, " I stepped towards her and as stubborn as always she didn't stepped back.

I liked ever bit of her stubbornness but it fucking drives me on edge when she goes against me.

" Yes you don't but you will." I grabbed her chin and titled it up a little so I could look into her eyes.

" Soon." I let go and walked to her desk to see what they were looking at.

" Why are you here?" She didn't try stop me.

" I don't want him close to you." I said and she chuckled.

" You must be insane to think you have the right to tell me what to do." I turned to look at her.

" Maybe." I shrugged, walking back towards her.

I leaned my back against her desk, my hands in my pocket.

" Do you want a share?" I asked and she frowned.

"Sharing is good." She pusjeda strand of hair from her face.

" So you like to share." I asked again.

She didn't answer straight away.

Just like that she surprised me again.

She took a step close and looked me in the eyes.

" It depends what you are talking about." She stated and I nodded in agreement.

She wasn't stupid.

She knew how to answer every question and I fucking lovedevey answer she gave.

" Me." I told her. The frown in her eyes deepened.

" You?" She sounded surprised.

I smiled darkly as I noticed tbr confusion in her beautiful green eyes.
