Scotty wandered through the lush meadow, her basket filling with an assortment of colorful flowers. The warm sun bathed her in its golden glow, and a gentle breeze tousled her hair. Here, the tranquility of nature, she felt free, unburdened by the weight of the palace and its secrets.
Le-Finya appeared beside her, a knowing glint in her eye. " Enjoying the fresh air, Scotty? " she inquired.
Scotty nodded, her hands deftly plucking a wild daisy. " It's beautiful out here. I feel like I can finally breathe again, after what happened last night. "
Le-Finya smiled, her eyes crinkling at the corners. " I'm glad you're finding some peace. But I sense there's something weighing on your mind, something you wish to discuss. "
Scotty hesitated, her fingers twisting a strand of grass. " What exactly is a mate, Le-Finya? "
Le-Finya's expression turned serious, her gaze locking onto Scotty's. " A mate is more than just a partner, Scotty, " she explained. " It's a profound bond between two individuals, a connection that transcends ordinary love or friendship. It's the merging of souls, a union of hearts that cannot be severed, and a mate bond will never end, it is a wolf thing "
Scotty furrowed her brow, struggling to grasp the concept. " But why did that man claim me as his mate? I hardly know him, and Im a warlock mixed human breed "
Le-Finya's demeanor softened, her tone gentle. " His kind possess a unique intuition, Scotty. He sensed something within you, a magnetic pull that drew him to you. And now, he'll stop at nothing to assert his claim over you. "
Scotty's eyes widened, a chill coursing down her spine. " But I don't want to be his mate! I don't even understand what that entails! "
Le-Finya placed a comforting hand on Scotty's shoulder. " You'll come to understand in time, my dear. And when you do, you'll realize the profound power and depth of a mate's bond, You see, in the realm of shifters, a mate embodies more than just a partner or a beloved. It's a spiritual connection, a tie that surpasses mere physicality. When two souls are destined to unite, they resonate on the same frequency, forging a potent and unyielding link. "
Scotty leaned in, her curiosity ignited, her thoughts swirling with inquiries. " What do you mean by 'resonate at the same frequency'? "
Le-Finya's smile widened, her voice imbued with mystique. " Picture it like a symphony, Scotty. Each soul carries its own distinct melody, its unique vibration. When two souls are fated to merge, their melodies harmonize, crafting a splendid and potent symphony that reverberates through the cosmos. "
Scotty's eyes widened as she grappled with the profundity of Le-Finya's explanation. " And that's what that man was implying when he claimed I was his mate? "
Le-Finya nodded solemnly, her gaze unwavering. " Indeed, my dear, his essence has recognized yours as its complementary counterpart. He perceives the resonance, the pulsation of your soul beckoning to his. Consequently, he'll exert every effort to secure you as his own, to consummate the bond and unite you as mates in every aspect, it is just weird he could sense it when you have not come of age yet "
Scotty's mind spun as she endeavored what has been said, she was not pleased at all about this, she did not even get to enjoy her night or dance.
" I will leave it at is, never will I meet this man again, Now I can focus more on my magic, and to get ready for my special day, I cant wait " Scotty smiled before she frowned to see a horse with a soldier ride over the hill,
The same soldier who had previously interrupted Le-Finya and Scotty's conversation reappeared, his countenance grave with urgency. He approached Le-Finya with determination, his gaze fixed on hers.
" Le-Finya, I bring a message from the king, " he declared, his voice low and serious. " You must depart immediately towards the palace, he is aware that you came with the certain lady last night, and there is a haunting party out seeking you know, you will need to come with a story or you will in more trouble and I wont be able to help you. "
Le-Finya's expression turned solemn, her attention briefly shifting to Scotty with a tinge of concern. She nodded briskly, her mind already racing with the gravity of the situation.
" I must heed the king's command, child," she stated, her tone resolute yet compassionate. " However, you must remain here, within the cottage. Under no circumstances are you to leave. I shall be absent for a few weeks, but I shall return to you. You shall be safe here, I assure you, "
Scotty's eyes widened with apprehension, a multitude of questions swirling in her mind. "But Le-Finya, what is going to happen to my come of age? I can not do this alone . . .? "
Le-Finya's demeanor softened, her gaze brimming with deep affection. "All shall be fine Scotty, there is a letter I left for you, and you may only read it once you come of age, it will help you get threw it, you must place your trust in me. "
The soldier nodded in concurrence, his gaze unwavering. " The king's directives are absolute, Le-Finya. You must depart, and Scotty must remain. Disobedience would yield... regrettable consequences and you know what will happen with a who know who. " he starred and gave her a hint that it was Scotty, the king would for sure take her for himself as a mistress, if she would not agree he would take her at his will.
Le-Finya acknowledged with a nod, a hint of defiance flickering in her eyes. She turned to Scotty, her tone gentle yet firm.
" Remember, Scotty, you must remain within these walls. Refrain from venturing forth, regardless of circumstance. I shall return to you, wait for me and learn. "
With one last glance at Scotty, Le-Finya exited the cottage, following the soldier, she had her own horse to fit into society, the only horse that was there, Now scotty was stranded with smore. This was all to puzzled for her, she was use to be alone, this was nothing, she would read and write, play with her crystals to focus her mind, sit in the water, and enjoy herself.
When Night has come, Scotty made her some dinner on the gas stove, what was nice in the cottage no one would see the lights on or know about it, they were always safe, and never seen anyone, sometimes they would hear the rogue wolves, they were always far, nothing serious.

The Villa was a mess, things were broken on the floor, no dared to enter, not even the maids were coming close to where Alpha Logan was, pacing back and forth in his villa, his fury and frustration mounting with each step. Scotty's departure gnawed at him, her sudden absence a gaping wound in his heart. He couldn't shake the feeling of betrayal, of abandonment, and it fueled the flames of his anger.
" Why did she leave me? " he seethed, his voice a low growl as he clenched his fists at his sides. " Doesn't she understand how much I need her? How I can't bear to be without her? We're bound by the mate bond, destined to be together. How could she simply walk away from that? "
In the midst of his turmoil, a warrior barged into the room, urgency etched across his features. " Alpha Logan, we face a dire situation," he announced, his tone grave and urgent. " We have rogue out again, just before the storm, many in the village is closing and reinforcing they doors and windows "
Logan's tumultuous emotions momentarily receded, replaced by a sense of duty and obligation. He nodded sharply, his mind already concocting strategies and tactics.
" Summon our forces, " he commanded, his voice authoritative and unwavering. " We will be on high alert ! No one is to enter the village until the storm subsides, the Rogues will use the storm to try and fool us "
With a brisk nod, the warrior hastened to carry out Logan's orders, leaving him to grapple with his conflicting emotions. Logan's thoughts raced, he knew the King would help search for the woman, and when the king said he knows the lady that was in the tree, Logan felt more at ease,
At last, the troops stood ready, and Logan led them forth from the villa into the tempestuous night. The elements raged around them, but their determination remained steadfast. They marched onward, to patrol around, keep the village safe for the night, Only to hear howls as the rain descended.
Le-finya was questioned by the King, she was so eager to keep all a secret he had placed her in a room and locked the doors, his command was to keep her lock and fed till she could tell him who the lady was, and how she escaped, he had mages make a magic shield over his palace, no magic would be used or detected.
