Chapter 4 The Waiter

Corvin looked at Thorin. he could see the anger returning in his eyes. Last night, he was ready to rip those men apart. They touched his girl.

“After you used your alpha powers on them, they ran away screaming their heads off. We didn’t have to do anything,” replied Corvin.

“And any recordings or CCTV footage?” asked Thorin.

“No one recorded anything; we checked everyone’s phone and erased the CCTV footage from the security hard drive. But I have kept one copy with us, to use just in case,” replied Corvin.

“It does not show anything about her, right? We cannot know anything about her from that footage?” asked Thorin, dejected.

“I am sorry! No! Nothing!” said Corvin.

“Corvin! I… I need to find her. She stole my heart and ran away. Why? Wait! There is someone who can tell us who she was,” Thorin saw a ray of hope.

“Who?” asked his friends simultaneously.

“A waiter! He… he was helping her friends. They were trying to…” Thorin stopped talking. The story Maeve told him last night broke his heart. How could someone do such things to their friends? He really wanted to run to her friend and rip their heads off.

“Do you know which waiter?” asked Aguilar.

“Um… no!” said Thorin, feeling defeated.

“Oh, you idiot! What do you know then?” snapped Corvin. Only he could have called him an idiot. They grew up together, trained together and became best friends.

“I know that we can use your powers!” finally, Thorin smiled.

“My powers? What?” asked Corvin, confused.

“Just open that footage, take a screenshot of Eve’s face. We will show her picture to every waiter working here. You will listen to everyone’s thoughts, and I know you will find the waiter out,” smiled Thorin.

“Because he too will think about last night's adventures? But everyone saw her. How will I find out that waiter?” asked Crovin.

“Trust me, you will find him out!” said Thorin, and all ran towards the restaurant inside the huge hotel.

“Alpha Prince!” Everyone immediately bowed down to Thorin.

“I need every waiter to make a single line and stand before me,” ordered Thorin.

“Prince?” asked the manager of the restaurant. He was not sure if he heard him right. Thorin didn’t say anything. He pressed his lips tighter and jerked his face to look at the manager in anger. The manager realised that Thorin didn’t like to repeat himself. He nodded at every waiter, and they immediately formed a line.

Corvin took out his phone and showed them a picture. “Does any of you recognise this girl?” asked Corvin. Every waiter looked at the photo, and there was a collective thought that they saw her when Thorin used his alpha power. But Corvin heard a completely different thought from one of the waiters.

“Is it that girl? The girl I was paid to humiliate? Ohh, those pesky assholes paid me only half to insult her and then racked up such a high bill. Then they ran away. no one knows that the bill is still unpaid. Maybe Alpha prince is trying to find the girl to make her pay. Should I help him? I could get a reward. Should I open my mouth. No, no, what if it backfires!”

“Him!” Corvin immediately pointed at the waiter, and Thorin looked at him with fire in his eyes. “He is thinking that he was paid by some people to humiliate that girl.”

Thorin closed his eyes in anger. So what Maeve told him last night was all true? He moved towards the waiter and stopped when he was right in his face. “Talk! Tell me everything. If you lie, he will know, and then I will rip your throat out!”

“I… I…” stammered the waiter. Thorin looked at him with an intense stare. The waiter felt a heavy pressure on him, and he started sinking to the floor. His knees gave in, and he fell down to the floor. “Some… some… four people approached me… they asked me… me to… insult and humiliate a girl… they booked a table… and ordered every expensive dish… in the hotel… but they made me… send that to their room… I had to show the bill to the girl and make her pay the bill… they said she was poor and could not pay… and then I should dump gravy and soup on her… and berate her for not paying her bill… they will then come and help her… they planned to… planned to humiliate her further… by…”

Thorin knew what that waiter was going to say. Maeve had told him everything. He didn’t want anyone else to hear that. He commanded, “Stop talking!” The waiter immediately shut up.

The waiter was trying hard to fight the alpha powers, but he was a mere low-class wolf; how could he fight with the powers of an alpha? “Which room?” roared Thorin.

“I… I… don’t remember!” cried the waiter.

“Corvin!” ordered Thorin. Corvin nodded at him and concentrated on the waiter’s memory. He looked for the room where he had taken the food. “Room 502!” said Corvin.

“Find out who booked that room? Find me that girl!” roared Thorin. Everyone collectively flinched after seeing his anger.

Aguilar and Othvarin ran to the receptionist and requested her to tell them about the occupants of room 502.

While they were gathering the information, Thorin grabbed the waiter’s collar and picked him up with ease. “So, if anyone pays you, you will hurt other people, you will humiliate someone, you will insult poor people who cannot pay!” snapped Thorin and threw him at a nearby wall. The waiter’s back hit the wall, and he fell on the floor like a hot potato. Within seconds, Thorin was again close to him, and this time he grabbed the waiter by his neck and pushed him harshly into a wall.

“I am sorry! I am sorry! I thought they were playing pranks on each other as they were friends!” cried the waiter. His whole body was aching with pain.

“Humiliating friends is not a prank. Planning to hurt friends is not a prank. Planning to rape friends is not a prank!” snapped Thorin and bared his teeth. His fangs started coming out. He was ready to sink his teeth into the waiter’s neck when Corvin shouted, “Stop! You cannot!”

Thorin closed his eyes and let the waiter drop to the floor. “Fire him and make him pay all the bills that were racked up by those delinquents!” ordered Thorin.

“Yes, sir! Yes, sir!”

Aguilar and Othvarin came running and announced, “Room 502! Room 502 was booked by Fenrir Lupus! The occupant left the hotel last night, running away haphazardly.”

“Now we can find her. We can ask her friend, Fenrir Lupus!” cried Rupdred in happiness.

Corvin and Thorin closed their eyes and sighed with dejection.

“What? What?” Rupdred was confused. Why were Thorin and Corvin not happy with that news?
