Chapter 2

It took me half a month to recover from my injuries.

Then I frantically swept through the underground black market, purchasing hundreds of boxes of high-density military compressed rations, tens of thousands of tons of meat and vegetables, twenty thousand boxes of broad-spectrum antibiotics and emergency wound treatment injections, over a hundred sets of polar heavy cold-weather gear, as well as fuel heating generators, low-light night vision devices...

This was all my capital for reshuffling the wasteland and building my own force!

Just as I was transporting these supplies into my private warehouse, I heard the roar of vehicles outside.

Immediately after, six heavy-duty off-road vehicles crashed through the wire fence outside the warehouse, and the overloaded rolling door was also smashed open.

Over thirty men holding machetes and guns got out of the vehicles.

"Kid, I heard you've been sweeping a lot of goods in the black market recently?" The leader grinned, pointing at me with the tip of his knife. "Buying so many prohibited drugs and military-grade equipment—what, planning to bypass the local gangs and smuggle goods across the border?"

I didn't speak, but my fingers had already moved toward the key at my chest.

The disparity in strength between us was enormous. If a head-on firefight broke out now, I definitely couldn't beat them and might even be robbed and killed by them!

I didn't need to fight them to the death. I just needed to wait until the key's cooldown was over, then travel to the wasteland with the supplies!

The cooldown time had three minutes left.

I felt somewhat annoyed—if only I hadn't used the key to travel over there for reconnaissance earlier.

"Stop struggling. I've already figured out your background. Listen, put down your weapons, then raise your hands. As long as we finish counting these goods, we'll spare your dog life!"

Dozens of lackeys immediately spread out, forming a semi-encirclement and closing in on me.

I had to stall them.

"You want the goods? Fine." I said calmly. "Go count them yourselves. These medicines are very precious—if you damage the packaging, the drugs inside will deteriorate when exposed to light. I don't dare touch them."

The leader obviously hadn't expected me to be so compliant. He looked me over and instructed his subordinates: "Two of you, go tie him up."

Of course I couldn't let them tie me up!

When they were less than three meters away from me, I quickly kicked over the backup electrical panel beside me!

The entire warehouse's lighting was instantly cut, plunging the depths of the warehouse into deathly darkness.

"Shit! This kid's playing tricks! Get him, dead or alive!" The leader's furious roar echoed in the empty warehouse.

In the chaos, I quickly pulled out military night vision goggles and fastened them over my eyes.

What had been pitch-black vision instantly transformed into clear ghostly green.

Those two approaching lackeys became completely blind, still swinging their knives wildly.

Like a leopard, I silently glided forward, my left hand precisely gripping one man's wrist and breaking it sharply!

Just as he let out a scream, my right hand, gripping the tactical knife in reverse, brutally stabbed into his carotid artery, and he instantly collapsed.

The second man blindly swung his iron pipe toward the sound. I ducked, then kicked his knee pit, sending him to the ground.

Two minutes left!

"On the left! He's hiding behind the cargo boxes!" a lackey shouted.

Using the massive supply piles as cover, I moved at high speed through the narrow passages.

The leader lost patience and fired two shots directly. Bullets hit the steel-reinforced wall, sparks flying.

"Back the vehicles in, turn all the headlights on! Light him up!"

With the roar of off-road engines, three vehicles forced their way into the warehouse, bright lights illuminating every corner.

I was forced to stop in front of the largest metal cargo pallet.

Behind me were several tons of supplies; in front, pitch-black gun barrels and dozens of gleaming machetes.

"Run! Why aren't you running anymore?!" The leader strode forward, gun muzzle aimed directly at my head.

Dozens of gang members erupted in mocking laughter.

Five seconds left.

"Alright, I'm not running. I surrender." I slowly straightened up, then removed the night vision goggles and threw them at my feet.

"Too late!" The leader pulled the trigger.

In the one-thousandth of a second before the gun's flame erupted, a blinding, searing white light exploded with me at its center!

The white light instantly swallowed me, along with the several tons of massive supplies in the warehouse.

The next second.

The bullet shrilly tore through the air, striking heavily against the empty cement wall.

Over thirty gang members stared wide-eyed.

The person was gone.

Those several tons of supplies in the warehouse... had also fucking vanished into thin air!

"We're... we're seeing ghosts!!!" the leader muttered.

And at that moment, I landed steadily with the supplies in an abandoned district.

I took a deep breath.

Kyle, Sera, you're about to receive this big gift I've brought back.

Suddenly, dozens of beastmen slowly emerged from the dark ruins behind me.

They greedily eyed my supplies, slowly closing in on me.
