Chapter 3 Chapter 3) Taking her with him/ Lies.

‘My Lord, please forgive me, but she escaped again’.

His eyes darkened after being mind linked by his Beta werewolf.

The word, ‘She escaped again’, was enough to make the veins in his neck pop out.

The word was enough to make him think about destroying the city, so that she might as well, just crawl out of her hiding place.

She was his mate.

But she rejected him, before she ran away some months back with another man.

Ever since then, he had been searching for her, but every single time he got close to finding her, she would always find a way or a chance to slip away.

“Don't blame me then”. He said, and was ready to prepare his warriors to wage war against Paradise City.

He was willing to burn every single damn thing to ashes, if that would make her come out of her hiding place and make her face him once again.

Just when he was about to shift into his Lycan form and return to his pack, he felt a strong mate pull which happened when he found his fated mate.

But the mate bond pull he felt this time was a hundred times stronger, and he felt an emotion he had never felt before.

‘That must be her!’. He thought and believed that it was his mate, making him hurry to locate her.

But his expectation turned gloomy when a pale figure fell in front of him, and it seemed like the strong mate pulled that he had felt deep in his heart, was because of her.

He turned around, clearly wanting to abandon her, but he halted and later returned his gaze to her.

“What is going on?”. He asked and ran his fingers through his hair, still trying to understand what was happening.

But he could tell that the moon goddess had played a joke on him.

He already had a mate and did not ask for another.

After much thought, he went and squatted next to her unconscious body.

He removed the strands of hair that covered her face. Despite her pale face, her beauty couldn't be hidden.

But that was the least of his worries.

Curious, because of how badly injured she was, he checked her palms, and as expected, they were not delicate, rather they were covered with calluses.

“She is not an ordinary werewolf”. He muttered, before he reluctantly carried her in her arms.

‘I am returning to the pack. Keep on searching for her’. He ordered his Beta werewolf through mind link, before he took her away.

Joaken pack.

It was exactly midnight.

After the distress fire was lit, the werewolves gathered in the pack's hall, where they met Alpha Kayson waiting for them.

His eyes were red, like someone who had been crying.

Seeing that, the werewolves could not help whispering among themselves.

They were confused and wanted to know what was going on.

“Warrior Demira is dead”. He broke the news to them, shocking them, and making the hall fill with loud whispers.

“How is that possible?”.

“Yes, how did she suddenly die?”.

They asked, and did not want to believe that the person responsible for killing their tormentor was gone.

Kayson sighed deeply, because their reactions were exactly like he had imagined. ‘They love and respect her more than me. Luckily, she is gone forever and buried. I had buried her with my own bare hands’. He thought to himself, but maintained the sad look on his face.

“The dead wicked tyrant was the one who killed her, just like he killed the remaining assassins he created. He fed each one of us poisons and made us serve under him”.

“But after finding the antidote and discovering that there was only one of them left, warrior Demira gave the last piece to me, while assuring me that she had been cured, because she had taken her own piece of the antidote before bringing the rest to me. And foolishly, I believed her words”. He fell to his knees.

“I did not suspect that anything was wrong because she fought vigorously when we faced the tyrant. But, earlier tonight, she told me the truth and took her last breath”.

“She was supposed to be my Luna. Your Luna. But- but. I buried her with the same hands which were supposed to claim her as my wife”.

“How is that fair?”. He concluded and cried out bitterly, while slamming his fists on the ground as he gritted his teeth.

Tears filled his eyes and dropped endlessly on the floor.

Sadness filled everyone's eyes as they watched his miserable state.

At that moment, no one said anything.

Only silence spoke.

A while later, they gathered at the grave where Demira had been laid, and they greeted her, thanked her for her bravery, before they paid their final respects to her.
