Chapter 4 Chapter 4) His mate from the Joaken pack/ Lost her baby.
After a few minutes of running with Demira, he arrived at his pack and located his mansion.
All the eyes of the warriors who were guarding his mansion were on the slim figure in his arms.
Even the few maids who were still awake could not prevent themselves from staring at the lady in their Lycan King's arms.
What they could tell was that she was not their Lycan King's mate.
At least, she was not the mate they knew of. That was why they were curious about her.
But one glare from Alejandro, their Lycan King, made them quickly lower their gazes. They did not dare to stare at him, or at the lady in his arms again, because they were aware of how fast his mood could change.
If they caused him any displeasure, their heads were as good as gone.
And that was the last thing they ever wanted to happen to them.
“You. Bring me the pack’s doctor, and lead him to the guest room when he arrives”. He stared at a particular maid as he ordered her. His voice was cold and void of emotion.
He did not care to hear her reply, and he took Demira with him to one of his guest rooms.
After arriving there, he switched on the lights and went ahead to the bed and left her there. Only a glance at her face, and he left the guest room without sparing her another glance.
Despite her strangely becoming his mate when he clearly had one already, he didn't care about her.
He only brought her to his Moonlight pack because something in him pierced his heart when he thought about abandoning her after he saw her in that state.
After leaving the room, he went to the kitchen and took wine out of the big fridge.
Without bothering to use a cup, he opened the bottle of wine and drank from it directly, before his hand clenched the bottle tightly and it broke.
The wine splashed on the floor, before drops of blood mixed with wine escaped from his injured palm and made their way to the ground.
Even after expressing his rage, he felt angry and eager to get his hands on something that he could destroy.
He didn't understand why she was the one pushing him away. Suddenly, his mind drifted to some years back when he first saw her as he visited the Joaken pack with his father when he was still alive.
Back then, he found her in a miserable state.
She was begging in the streets and was ignored by almost the entire passersby.
When she eventually stole a meat bun from a stall, she was caught and beaten half to death.
For someone like him who had been trained by his father to be a cold Lycan prince, since he was the future of their Moonlight pack, he did not dare to show any weakness, as showing any weaknesses might certainly make one of his enemies use it against him.
So because of that, he had to ignore the miserable beggar. But it became a different case when he felt a mate pull towards her and discovered that she was his mate.
At that point, he could not restrain himself and went behind his father's back to claim her as his, as she was the first lady other than his late mother, who attracted his care and attention.
He took her away from Joaken pack and brought her to his pack, where he gave her a new identity, as she could not remember her childhood.
All she could remember was that she was abandoned when she was a little girl.
As for him, he did not mind her background and promised to protect her, since he had fallen for her at first sight.
Her gentleness and naive nature made him want to give her his all and protect her.
But as time went by, he did not understand why she changed.
It was something he did not see coming.
He simply woke up one day and discovered that she was missing.
After crazily searching for her, he finally noticed the note she left on her bed.
She said that she hated him and did not want him, or want anything to do with him again. She equally pleaded that he should let her go and not search for her, since her heart now belonged to Damien.
Thinking about all that, Alejandro’s eyes turned red, and he slammed his fist on the wall.
Damien was his childhood friend, so it amazed him that someone close to him could betray him.
It was because of Damien’s betrayal that he became more ruthless and took his father's teachings more seriously.
The same teachings he had always wanted to get rid of.
“Keep on hiding well, both of you. When I get my hands on you, you have a lot of explaining to do”. He muttered under his breath, before he left the kitchen and was heading to his study.
Every single werewolf who saw him tried their best to avoid him because the aura which surrounded him was dangerous.
They could feel it, and were afraid that it might be their end on earth the second they crossed paths with him.
…
“No. No”. Beads of sweat gathered on Demira’s forehead as her head turned back and forth on the bed.
Even tears escaped from her eyes.
She was having a dream. But a terrible one.
A child… she was hearing a child's cry.
Its voice was filled with pain and anguish, and each second of hearing the anguish cries was the same as receiving cuts all over her body.
But it wasn't long and her eyes shot open, and she sat up on the bed breathing fast like someone who had run a marathon.
“It felt so real. Was that a dream?”. She muttered and placed her hand on her fast beating chest.
At that moment, she grew confused as she stared at her surroundings.
The room was a place she had never seen before. It wasn't too bright, nor was it dim.
The setting of the room was definitely expensive, and the bed… It wasn't only big, but it was huge and soft like a cloud.
“Where am I?”. She asked herself this question as she scratched the back of her head in confusion.
Her memory was a little off, but she recalled that Kayson had betrayed her, and after that, she miraculously survived and ended up in Paradise City where she found an abandoned building to rest.
But she later went out of the building because her instincts told her to. After that, she could not remember what else happened.
The door to the bedroom opened, making her turn instantly to stare at the person who had opened the door.
She was vigilant and wary, as she had no single clue where she was.
The pack doctor, Jonathan, after seeing that the patient he had been carefully taking care of for over a month had finally regained her consciousness, was enough to bring a bright smile on his face.
He went over to the bedside and left his treatment bag on the floor.
As he was about to take her hand so that he could check her pulse, she retreated from him and also got out of bed through the opposite side.
“Who are you? Stay away from me”. She warned him and was ready to attack him if he meant any harm to her.
“I mean no harm, young lady. I am the doctor responsible for treating you”. He said to her and made sure that his voice was as calm as ever, as he didn't want her to think otherwise.
He continued to say to her, “A month ago you were badly injured and poisoned. You also lost a lot of blood and the baby in your womb”.
“It's a miracle that you are still alive”.
“But, you shouldn't be moving around carelessly like that. Your body still needs more time to heal”.
She froze, and her eyes widened after what Doctor Jonathan said to her.
His words got to her, especially the part where he mentioned that she had lost her baby.
“My- my baby? What do you mean by that?”. The instant these words escaped from her lips, her heart skipped a beat, with her eyes fixed on him without blinking, as she anxiously waited to hear his reply.
