Chapter 5 Chapter 5) Her hatred.

Seeing Demira's reaction made Jonathan think if he should repeat the news to her or not.

She looked like someone who wouldn't be able to endure the news of losing her child. And since she had just woken up, he didn't want her to collapse again.

He knew how much effort it took him before he could cure her.

He knew how she sweated day and night.

How her body turned hot like fire.

And how her body turned cold like ice.

He saw her experience all of those and felt great pity for her, because he had never seen anyone who had suffered terribly like her. He even thought that she was going to die, but that never came, and the fact she was still alive and standing on her two feet in front of him was something he could not explain.

That was why, to put it simply, he called it a ‘Miracle’.

Though he has been left thinking.

He had no exact clue who poisoned her, but he knew that the stab mark on her stomach, which had now turned to a scar, was the handiwork of a fellow werewolf.

He could not understand who could be so heartless as to hurt a pregnant lady.

“Please tell me!”. She yelled at him and was crying.

Tears had escaped from her eyes and streamed down her face.

It did not end there.

She hurried to his side and grabbed his hand, when she was the one who initially wanted to get away from him.

“Plea- please tell me what you mean by that, doctor. My baby? Was I pregnant?”. She asked him, making him puzzled.

‘Did she not know that she was pregnant?’. He thought and was stunned.

Now his mind was in conflict.

He had mentioned the child to her because he thought she was aware of it.

If he had known that she had no clue about it, he would not have mentioned it to her in the first place and caused her pain.

He would have buried the secret so that her mind could be at rest.

But since it had come to this…

He sighed in defeat.

“I am sorry for your loss, young Miss. You were a month pregnant, but you had lost the child after you were injured”. He broke the news to her, and at that moment, she slowly let go of his hand and stood there looking confused.

She did not cry anymore. She did not utter a single word. Neither did she whimper.

All she did was go to bed and sit down there to think.

‘I was pregnant with his child, but he betrayed me and killed his blood?’. She thought, before she smiled, and then, she laughed out like someone who had gone insane.

Her sudden reaction to the news confused doctor Jonathan because he did not understand what was making her laugh.

‘Is this not the same person who cried now?’. He thought and could not stop staring at her.

But it did not take him long to figure out why she reacted that way.

She must have lost her mind.

Sure enough, he was right, because her laughter soon turned to tears, before her face turned blank.

‘I will kill him’. Demira thought to herself with a soulless look in her eyes.

Every single positive emotion left in her had died completely. The only emotion left in her was rage.

She wanted revenge, and she had sworn to get it no matter the cost.

Doctor Jonathan left the guest room after examining Demira's body.

She was recovering fast and could soon return to the way she used to be before she was injured.

By the way, he did not bother himself with reporting to Lycan King Alejandro about Demira's current health, because the last time he went and reported to him what he found out about her, since he thought that he loved her, he was dismissed with darkened eyes.

Of course, every werewolf in the moonlight pack was well informed that it was Lycan King Alejandro who brought Demira back with him.

They thought that he had moved on after being betrayed by his mate, but sooner than later, they discovered that they were overthinking.

That was because he had never visited Demira ever since he left her in the guest room.

They even wonder if he remembered that there was a lady he brought back home a month ago.

Back in the guest room,

Demira rose from the bed. She went ahead and stood in front of the window as she stared outside the mansion.

The environment was vast, making her feel like a prisoner who was trapped in a cage.

According to Doctor Jonathan whom she had asked, she figured out that she was in the Moonlight pack.

The pack which belonged to the Lycan King, who was the overall ruler of the entire werewolves. The same Lycan King who was responsible for bringing her to his Moonlight pack, and the same Lycan King whom she hated

She hated how he claimed to be the ruler of the entire werewolf, when he did not care to come to Joaken’s pack rescue when the previous kind hearted Alpha was killed, and the tyrant Alpha took control of everything and caused havoc everywhere.

She would not lie. Despite being the tyrant Alpha's tool, she took it upon herself and personally spread rumors and news about how badly the Joaken pack was suffering under the tyrant Alpha's reign.

She had done all that while earnestly hoping that Alejandro was going to hear the news and bring him to justice.

But, her hope was answered with silence. Nothing happened. No help came.

She thought that maybe he hadn't heard the news, that was why he didn't act.

But then, it hit her like a truck.

He was the powerful Lycan King.

A man who was so strong that no power could match the kind of power he had.

There was no way that someone as great as him would not have heard the news of what was happening.

He must have kept silent on purpose and was busy watching.

That was what she thought, until she heard the truth, which broke her hope and her faith in him completely.

She heard it from the tyrant Alpha's mouth one time when she spied on him.

“Have the moonlight pack agreed to my request for more heart piercing poison? Give them more gold if you must”.

“I want those poisons, in order to have those bastards under my thumb”.

That day, she learned that the heart piercing poison which was used against her and the other assassins was invented in the moonlight pack.

And to her, there was no way that such a dangerous poison would be invented in the moonlight pack without the Lycan King having an idea about it.

Ever since then, she hated him and swore that if given a chance, she would end his life and avenge her brothers and sisters who had died because of the poison, due to the fact that not all of them were able to withstand the effects of the poison.

Her hand reached out and touched the window. “He was the one who brought me to his pack, and now, I am healed”. She muttered, before she continued to say to herself, “That doctor must have reported my health to him”.

“He must now be informed that I was poisoned with the heart piercing poison”.

“So, it's easy for him to think that I am a member of the assassin's order of the late tyrant Alpha”.

“I don't know how, but I must find a way to twist the truth and make him allow me to stay by his side in his pack. He might return me to Joaken's pack if I am not careful enough. And I have not recovered fully to kill that bastard”.

“And I certainly can't leave his moonlight pack. Not when I haven't made him pay for his crimes”. She declared.

Her eyes were cold blooded and were the complete opposite of what they used to be.
