Chapter 6 Chapter 6) Meeting him.

It was night.

After spending many minutes locked inside the guest room, and after deciding to change characters for good, Demira left the bedroom and went out the hallway.

Alejandro’s mansion was massive, and before she knew it, she lost her way.

She could not tell the path she had walked through.

Neither could she tell the path that led to the guest room.

And to make matters worse, her stomach dared growl. She was hungry and needed something to eat, making her wonder.

Doctor Jonathan told her that she had been unconscious for a month.

Then what have they been feeding her all that time?

She wondered, but halted on her tracks and her eyes widened in great shock after she felt it.

Her heart pounded fast and blew like fireworks. It was unlike anything she had ever felt before.

That was not all. She clenched her chest tightly because of how her heart was greatly overwhelmed, to the point that she felt like suffocating.

“What is this? What is going on?”. She said because it was too much. Beads of sweat had formed on her forehead and her neck.

And as she attempted to take a step forward, her leg abruptly felt heavy like metal, making her hiss and pant because of the great discomfort she felt.

She was still trying to figure out what was happening to her when it stopped.

It just stopped like magic, thus leaving her speechless, but mostly confused.

Out of curiosity, she stared behind her and around her because she felt like whatever she had experienced right now… someone had a hand in it.

But after staring, she saw no one, which was odd for such a huge mansion like this. But then again, a sweet scent passed by her nose and made her begin questioning reality.

‘What was that?’. She thought to herself, and judging by how sweet the scent was, she felt like it meant no harm.

So, she followed the scent, and it led her to a garden.

The size of the garden was like the size of the entire mansion.

The entire mansion would be an exaggeration, right? Maybe half the mansion. That was how big the garden was.

Her mouth opened a little in disbelief because she had never seen anything like it.

In the middle of the garden there were blue flowers which glowed together with the full moon.

And a huge water fountain.

Forget about the water fountain. At the far corner, there was this tree which felt strange and seemed to be calling her.

It looked like an old tree, making her wonder why it had not been cut down.

Though, she wondered why a swing was attached to one of the branches of the tree. Her curiosity led her again, and she sat on the swing and was having a little fun with it as she fixed her gaze on the bright full moon.

“I will be back, I promise. I will claim that position which you stole”. She muttered.

Those were the words she had been telling herself inside her mind.

“How dare you trespass?”.

A deep dark voice spoke, causing her to feel as if spiders were crawling on her skin. Quickly, she jumped down the swing and stared around her, but she saw no one after checking.

“I am feeling very off today. I am even starting to hallucinate deep voices”. She admitted and massaged her temples with a sigh, before she decided that it would be best if she left the garden.

As soon as she turned, she bumped into a solid chest and lost her balance.

Usually, something like that wouldn't make someone like her easily lose her balance, but she was at her weakest point at the moment.

“Argh”. She stretched her hand forward and tried to grab him in order to avoid falling, but he dodged, and with a cold look on his face, he silently watched her fall to the ground.

Not believing what just happened, she looked at him in disbelief and was stunned by what she saw.

His handsomeness was on another level. Not only did he look majestic and like a premium statue, his hair shone like the night itself, and his eyes were red like flames. His nose stood high like a bridge, and his brows, black, were a little full, but normal.

And, he was so tall. At least 6'4 tall, unlike her who was 5’9 tall.

Though, despite his strong and commanding aura, she was on the verge of quarreling with him. But she realized that his face was oddly familiar.

She had seen the face somewhere but could not wrap her head around where she had seen the face.

But most importantly, why did she feel such a strong bond towards him?

Unless…

‘He is my mate?!’. She thought and was lost. ‘A second chance mate?’.

“I said, how dare you trespass on my garden? And how dare you sit on her swing?”. He asked her, and upon learning that the garden belonged to him, the surprise look in her eyes vanished and was replaced by something much darker.

‘So he is the scumbag Lycan King’. She thought and felt her blood boil just by staring at him. But then, it hit her.

‘The Lycan King is my second chance mate?! No. I don't accept this! I can't!’. She panicked.

An insane amount of anger wanted to burst out of her because she didn't understand such madness. She didn't understand why the moon goddess played the biggest joke of the century on her.

How could the moon goddess do this to her? By making her be fated to the man whom she hated from the innermost depths of her heart!

‘Be patient, Demira. Pretend to be clueless. Pretend to be clueless’. She repeated inside her mind, before she rose from the ground.

A smile, clearly a fake one, appeared on her face. “I- I am sorry, Mister. I didn't mean to trespass. I got lost on my way to the kitchen”. She said to him and hoped that he was going to buy her words.

Her cooked-up lies.

His silence made her think that all was forgiven. So she bowed her head to him a little, as a sign of respect and appreciation, before she tried to leave.

But she never expected that he was going to grab her hand, made her turn towards him, and then grabbed her neck and tightened his grip around it, making her choke.

He even lifted her off the ground and made her struggle.

“You were poisoned with the heart piercing poison. Tell me. Who are you?”. He demanded from her with his voice filled with authority.

His eyes darkened and were eyes which could inflict fear upon another.

But she? She was not scared, but had to put on a convincing act.

“I- I can't breathe”. She forced herself to say, and the veins in her neck and her temples had started to pop out.

If she wanted, she would have fought her way out of his grip, but she did not want to risk that.

‘I understand that he was wicked and ruthless, but I never knew that he could be so heartless’.

She thought to herself and was struggling for air to breathe.

“Plea-se”. She pleaded once more.

“I ask again, who are you? You were poisoned with the heart piercing poison which is an exclusive poison to my pack. How did that happen? Not just anyone can get their hands on my creation”.

Listening to him say that, Demira almost snapped. She almost broke free from his strong grip and wanted to throw a punch at his face.

‘He is a bastard! How could such a shameless monster like him be my mate?’. She was furious, and if she could meet the moon goddess at this moment, she was going to ask her what she had done wrong to deserve such karma in her life.

Her first mate turned out to be a scumbag. And now, her second chance mate turned out to be the devil's incarnate.
