Chapter 4 The Game Begins
Diane’s POV
I was waiting. For Liam. I knew he was going to call me after the class.
And he did.
“Are you busy? I would love it if we could hang out.” He asked.
Hang out my foot. If I wasn’t mistaken, that’s where he was going to try to kiss me for the first time, and the stupid me would think he had feelings for me and would allow him.
Never again! Just the thought of it disgusts me so much that I could throw up.
“Well yeah, I wouldn’t mind that at all Liam. You can come pick me up at my place a few minutes before the party starts.”
I intentionally tripped over him, because I saw Rose watching us through the corridor.
He held me tightly trying to make me stand upright, but Rose walked in furiously as she took his hand and walked away with him.
Not like I cared about that anyway, but I think I’m enjoying how this is turning out. They must really think I will be stupid enough to make that same mistake again.
I needed to ease myself before another class started.
“How dare you? You don’t even have any respect for us anymore? You really think that because you’re slim and beautiful now, you can do whatever you want? I bet you wouldn’t want to dare me Diane.” Ronan held me tightly against the wall by the entrance of the restroom.
“Let me go, Ronan. I’m not the same Diane you used to bully and treat however you like. I may be beautiful now, looking far different from what I used to, but aside from that, I changed myself too. Not only my looks, but my life as well. So do not think you can threaten and make me shiver like the way I used to.”
Gosh!! My heart almost dropped. I was bold, for the first time, I looked up at Ronan and said all these things to me?
He dragged me into the restroom, breathing on my neck, as he raised my hands above my head making me nervous.
“I do not give a shit about your changes, just because you look different doesn’t change how I see you Diane, stop daydreaming.”
I cut him off.
“Are you sure it doesn't affect how you see me? You look furious at the fact that I was with Liam earlier. You don’t have to deny it, It’s obvious you’re angry about that.”
Everything is working as I wished. Ronan's jealousy would drive him crazy, and he would do something despicable to Liam. Exactly how I wanted it.
I won’t get my hands dirty, but I will make my stepbrothers dirty their hands for me without them knowing. It’s also my revenge on them for making my life a living hell.
If they had not bullied me, I would have left Liam’s house immediately when he started abusing me. But because they would never welcome me, and I had no other place to go, I had to stay with him, which led to my death.
Now, it’s payback time. I’m going to use them without them suspecting I was using them.
I got away from him, trying to meet up with the next class, but somehow bumped into Hunter, who looked like he intentionally allowed me to bump into him.
“Will you watch where you’re going slimmy?”
Hunter has always been the one who gives me different kinds of names.
He called me fatso when I was fat. And now slimmy? He won’t stop giving me names.
“I have class to attend Hunter, please stay out of my way.”
He has always been aggressive. He won’t only talk, but also use his hands to bully me.
“You stupid fool. You think you can talk boldly now? Because you think you’re beautiful. Ehhn?” He dragged me closer to himself, making me feel nervous.
I only escaped from one of them, now I ended up with another?
Isn’t that some crazy shit?
He finally left after minutes of taunting and making fun of me.
He made fun of me for being too fat, now he’s going to continue to make fun of me for being slim? People can never be satisfied, no matter what.
My desk was just here, before I left for the restroom. But now, I couldn’t find it there. Everyone stayed quiet, not uttering a word, just staring at me like I was hallucinating.
Just then, someone finally spoke.
“Stop looking, our dear new student, you will find your desk at the poolside.” She said, giving a devilish smile. I definitely know that smile, it's the kind of smile that can kill someone, but why should I care?
I saw it.
My desk. It was sitting inside the pool. Then I knew someone must have done this to make me show up here.
I pace around the pool, thinking of what to do.
All of a sudden, I was pushed into the pool.
I couldn’t swim in my past life. But not this life, definitely not. Because I found myself swimming my way out of the pool.
It’s Rose. She pushed me right into the pool.
Flashbacks of how she pushed me off the stairs replayed in my head.
No! Not again. It can’t happen again. I’m rewriting everything.
I hit her hard on the face.
“How dare you! You think you can bully me? You must be mistaken, miss, I can’t be bullied, never!”
It took her by surprise when I turned her towards the pool and pushed her in instead. She tried swimming, but she couldn’t, so I held her hand dragging her up, while I jumped into it willingly.
“Somebody help me!” I screamed out loudly enough for people to hear me.
And in the next few minutes, people came running to me.
Liam jumped into the pool, saving me from getting drowned. As he believed. While Rose stood still like a lost puppy, finding its owner.
“Diane, how did this happen? How are you in the pool?” He asked.
“I didn’t know she never liked me.” Pointing at Rose. “Until a while ago when she punished me in the pool.” I faked my tears. My puppy eyes are flowing out with tears that can’t be controlled.
“Don’t listen to her everyone! She was the one who pushed me instead. Not the other way around. Don’t believe her. Look at my clothes, they’re so wet.
“I came for my chair which I believed you took, and I saw you fighting for your life under the pool, so I decided to help you, but you somehow dragged me into it and came out on your own.”
“How could Rose be so wicked? That's a despicable character that shouldn’t go unpunished.” Someone said, as everyone agreed.
Everyone looked at her with disgust, which is exactly what I wanted.
I want her to shiver. She should be afraid of me.
Liam carried me in his arms, as he walked past Rose who was standing, shivering with cold.
“Drop her.” Ronan blocked our way.
“She’s my responsibility, you can drop her and leave now.”
“Let me do this please. It’s nothing at all.” Liam responded. But Ronan wasn’t having it, until he dropped a punch on his face.
“Drop her now!” I froze.
