Chapter 1 Go Find Your Biological Parents

At the Smith family's daughter's eighteenth birthday party, two girls became the center of attention.

The Smith family was wealthy and powerful, a true elite family, and their daughter's birthday party was extremely lavish.

Victoria Smith didn't care what others thought. She picked up the microphone, walked to the center of the stage, and looked at her sister standing nearby with tears streaming down her face.

"Today is Emily's eighteenth birthday. As her sister, I'm really happy for her. Emily has been sweet and well-behaved since childhood, and she's been especially good to me. How good has she been to me? Well, even my boyfriend - she wants to share him too!"

As soon as she finished speaking, intimate photos of Emily Smith and another man appeared on the big screen.

The two clearly had a close relationship, but the thing was, everyone knew this man - it was Victoria's boyfriend, Wayne Williams from The Williams Group!

"Victoria, how dare you! After everything we've done for you, you turn out to be so ungrateful? If that's how you feel, you can get out right now. Go on, go find your real parents!"

The elegant woman in front of Victoria, wearing a formal dress with a gold bracelet on one wrist and a jade bracelet on the other, glared at her with disgust.

Jennifer Johnson, was the woman Victoria had called mom for eighteen years, and she was now holding a young girl who looked similar to her.

"Mom, it's okay. Victoria didn't mean it. She just can't accept that I took away mom and dad's love, so she's saying these things about me. Mom, please don't blame her..."

Emily looked at the photos on the big screen in disbelief, then at all these people gossiping about her. Suddenly, blood rushed to her throat, her eyes rolled back, and she fainted.

The Smith family elders frantically rushed Emily from the party straight to the hospital.

Throughout it all, Victoria remained calm, just quietly following behind.

Actually, she had known for a while that Emily and Wayne were together. But she didn't discover it herself - Emily had told her, linking arms with Wayne, looking smug and proud.

And it wasn't just this one thing. Emily had also told her smugly that she wasn't actually the Smith family's biological daughter - she was just adopted.

In that moment, everything suddenly made sense.

She had been taught since childhood that, as the older sister, she needed to take good care of Emily. She also knew from a young age that Emily had poor health and needed regular blood transfusions.

So Victoria had been Emily's living blood bank her whole life.

When she was younger, she had to give Emily blood transfusions almost every day. Her entire arm was covered with needle marks, so densely packed that she didn't even dare wear short sleeves in summer.

She had always tried hard to be a good sister, but still felt like everyone in the family only had eyes for Emily.

As a child, Victoria worked hard to convince herself that mom and dad loved her too; they just loved Emily a little more because she was sick.

But just a few days ago, Emily got better and didn't need her anymore. So all the pretense was torn away, revealing the ridiculous and dirty truth.

The moment she learned she wasn't the Smith family's biological daughter, Victoria felt an unprecedented sense of relief, because she finally understood - her parents not loving her wasn't her fault.

Emily had just been shocked, nothing serious. She lay quiet and pale in bed, her ashen face reminding one of a fragile figurine. The sight stirred a deep, protective pity.

Only Victoria knew that she was actually already awake, just keeping her eyes closed.

"Victoria! What have you done?" A white-haired old man roared, his eyes practically bulging out.

Victoria knew it would be like this. In the past, she might have been upset, but now that she knew her usefulness was gone, she naturally wouldn't feel sad for this family anymore.

"As her sister, my whole life, whatever Emily liked, I had to give to her. Now she likes my boyfriend, so I publicly gave him to her and even blessed them. What's wrong with that?"

Victoria's face was expressionless, her eyes indifferent.

Oliver Smith clearly hadn't expected that Victoria, who had always been obedient and well-behaved, could be so sharp-tongued.

"How dare you! Who do you think you are? If we hadn't picked you up from the street back then, you would have starved to death. What, we let you grow up in the Smith family, and you feel wronged?"

Oliver angrily scolded her.

Victoria shrugged indifferently and rolled up her sleeve. Her pale arm still had some densely packed needle marks from childhood injections.

"You raised me, I repaid you with my blood. We're even."

Victoria's meaning was simple - nobody owed anybody anything.

"Victoria..."

At that moment, Emily finally opened her eyes.

Everyone's attention was drawn to her. Victoria's lips curved slightly - she knew it would be like this. Since childhood, whenever she was in front of Emily, she was always the one who got ignored. But she was used to it by now.

"Victoria, I'm sorry." Emily lowered her head, looking extremely guilty, completely different from the smug person she had been a few days ago.

"I know you're very angry about Wayne and me, but..."

Emily bit her lower lip, hesitating.

"But you two truly love each other, so you had no choice. Don't worry, I understand. If you like him, he's yours."

Victoria directly said out loud all of Emily's unspoken words.

"Enough, haven't you caused enough trouble? Since your biological parents have come looking for you, you don't need to stay in the Smith family and suffer anymore. Go back."

Oliver got annoyed just looking at Victoria now.

"Dad."

Lucas Smith sighed. He still had some feelings for the daughter he had raised himself.

He took out a card and said quietly, "Victoria, you have your own family now. That's a good thing. Here's ten thousand dollars. The butler has already packed your things. Just go back."

Looking at the bank card in his hand, Victoria found it utterly ridiculous.

"Thanks, but no thanks."

Victoria didn't hesitate at all. She just took her luggage and turned to leave. After more than ten years in the Smith family, when she left, her luggage was just a small backpack. How ridiculous.

"I really didn't mean to."

Emily's voice was barely audible, but her eyes were full of malice.

Wayne was from a truly wealthy family. How could she let Victoria have him?

Now, Victoria was finally gone. From now on, no one would get in their way anymore.

Jennifer snorted, "Her biological parents are just teachers. And she can't do anything herself. She goes back, gets stuck in a nowhere town, that's it. She's washed up. Her chance at a real life is gone!"
