Chapter 1 Prologue
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY XAVIER!"
The little gathering metamorphosed into numerous table sets in a luxurious decorated garden, cheered happily for Xavier, who is standing in between his two best friends, and in front of them is a two-layer cake on a decorated table.
Xavier smiled as he pushed down the knife on the side of his cake.
The guests cheered again as a few waiters and waitresses moved around the little gathering, serving drinks and snacks to the guests.
The refreshing wind added to the beauty of the night and the event as well, thanks to the esthetics and the beautiful attires of the guests.
"Thank you very much, everyone," Xavier said with a smile, waving his hand at his guest as they cheered for him.
One of the waiters walked towards him with a tray filled with glasses of champagne as the cheer died down.
Xavier picked up a glass and so did his two best friends.
"Happy birthday, superstar," Leo, one of Xavier's best friends, said, placing his hand on Xavier's shoulder as the waiter walked away.
Xavier chuckled proudly. "Thank you, Leo," clicking his glass with Leo's.
"Well, I must say, Xavier, thirty-five looks firing on you," Brad, his other best friend, teased.
Xavier shrugged proudly as he sipped his drink.
"More like thundering," Leo remarked, making both Xavier and Brad chuckle.
"That's exactly what I was supposed to say. Thundering," Brad teased, chuckling, and so did Leo.
"Guys, guys, please, thirty-five or not, I will always be firing and thundering. As a matter of fact, the more I get older, the more firing I become. The main reason those stunning ladies over there can't take their obsessed eyes off me," Xavier boasted, gesturing at a table filled with beautiful women who were actually staring at him.
Brad and Leo rolled their eyes as Xavier ran his fingers stylishly through his short-styled brunette hair like a typical casanova and winked at one of the ladies, who blushed instantly.
Xavier chuckled slightly and sipped his drink.
Brad placed his hand on Xavier's shoulders and sucked his teeth.
"Xavier Cole. Thirty-five and still refused to change." Brad deadpanned.
Leo shook his head and scoffed.
"Pitiful, isn't it, Leo?" Brad asked, making Xavier roll his eyes.
"Absolutely pitiful, Brad." Leo supported.
"Yeah whatever, guys." Xavier said, sipping his drink again.
"Seriously though, are you going to wait till you are our age before you decide to pick one of your hoes, get married and settle the hell down?" Leo asked.
Brad scoffed. "That's if he ever wants to settle down."
Xavier hummed, pointing at Brad a bit without looking at him as he swallowed the portion of champagne in his mouth.
"See? Brad gets it. He understands me better than you do, Leo. When will you ever understand me, man? I am your freaking best friend for Pete's sake," Xavier reminded while looking at Leo.
Leo furrowed his brows.
Brad sucked his teeth in disappointment.
"Dude, stop sounding like I am giving you my full support. I am clearly not." Brad said, making Xavier give him a look.
Brad raised his brows as Leo chuckled.
Xavier heaved a sigh, moving his gaze back to the ladies. They are smiling at him.
He smirked at them.
"Why don't you just pick one of them already and settle down? Leo and I have been married for a decade plus. You are the only one left in the singles world," Brad said, staring at the women as well.
"And I will remain in it for life, my brothers." Xavier exclaimed, smirking as he continued staring at the women.
Brad heaved a sigh.
Leo shook his head.
"Life is too short to be tied to just one pussy, guys," Xavier said and looked at his friends.
They are staring at him.
He smirked at them.
"Trust me, Xavier Cole is too big for just one woman. It is just unfair," he snickered, running his fingers through his hair again and smirking.
"You are one irredeemable bastard," Brad hissed, sipping his drink.
Xavier chuckled, barely affected by what Brad just called him.
"You can say that again, Brad. I wonder how we became friends in the first place," Leo said.
Xavier chuckled again.
"I ask myself the same question all the time," Brad said.
"Well, we became friends because the universe said the three of us are meant to be," Xavier joked, smirking.
Brad scoffed. "This cheeky moron,"
Xavier chuckled.
"One pussy can fetch you a beautiful family, you know?" Leo asked.
Xavier let out a loud dramatic sigh and placed his hands on his friends' shoulders.
They know he is least interested in their advice right now and even forever.
"Brad and Leo. I love you both. You guys are my family for life. I don't need a pussy to fetch me one. I only need pussy for a quality good time," Xavier said, looking between them and grinning.
They averted their eyes from him, shaking their heads in disbelief.
"Get your hand off me, sick dude," Brad ordered calmly, sipping his drink.
"Yeah, hand off," Leo said.
Xavier chuckled without taking his hands off them as his eyes moved to the biggest table among the gathering that had two women and three kids seated.
"And speaking of family, come on, let's go over to your table. Your wives and kids are waiting to give the birthday boy their wishes," he said, taking down his hands from their shoulders as they led the way.
Xavier followed them happily.
"Uncle Xavier!" The kids squealed happily as the men got closer.
Xavier smiled at them.
"Hey kiddos," he said, smiling as Leo and Brad moved towards their wives and kids, smiling at the kids as well.
"Welcome to my party, family" Xavier said, moving his eyes between Brad's wife, his two kids and then Leo's wife and his kid.
"Thanks for inviting us," Leo's wife said.
"You are welcome, Carmen," Xavier said.
"Quick, go give him his present," Brad's wife urged her kids.
The kids got on their feet with shiny boxes in their hands and walked towards Xavier.
"Oh," Carmen said the minute she saw Brad's kids moving with their presents. She quickly worked on packaging her kid's present for Xavier.
"Happy Birthday, Uncle," one of the kids said, handing over the present in her hand to Xavier.
"Thank you, Alex. My favorite champ and soon to be a talented athlete just like his uncle," Xavier said proudly, making Brad and Leo roll their eyes amusedly.
Alex smiled, feeling delighted at what Xavier had just said.
"I can't wait," Alex said, smiling.
Xavier hummed. "That's the spirit. How old are you again?"
"I will be thirteen soon," Alex answered.
"You are almost there. I played my first match when I was fifteen. You will do it soon," Xavier said.
"Yes, I will," Alex said boldly, making everyone chuckle.
"What is this?" Xavier asked, staring at the present in his hand.
"A wrist watch. Dad said you love wrist watches," Alex said, making Brad smile.
"You bet I do, champ. Thank you," Xavier said, ruffling Alex's brunet hair.
Alex chuckled.
"Happy birthday, uncle!" The other kid squealed, making everyone chuckle.
"Thank you, Kendra," Xavier said, chuckling at Kendra's loud tone as she handed him his present.
"This feels lovely," Xavier said, staring at his present.
"They are a set of perfumes," Kendra said.
"Wow, it gets even better. This is awesome," Xavier said, making Kendra giggle.
"Go on, Jessica," Carmen said to her kid, who took fast steps towards Xavier with her present in her hands.
"Jessica has a present for you too," Leo announced, killing Kendra's smile as she sensed Jessica approaching.
Kendra looked behind her, and she saw Jessica approaching happily.
She frowned and moved her leg, placing it in Jessica's way.
"Happy birthday, un..... " Jessica trailed off as she tripped, forcing the cupcakes in her gift box to fly out and land on the trousers part of Xavier's expensive designer's suit before she fell to the ground.
Everyone's attention moved to them.
"What the fuck" Xavier muttered, staring at his trousers stained with pink icing sugar.
"Jessica!" Carmen called, getting on her feet and moving towards Jessica quickly as Kendra smirked.
"Honey, what happened?" Carmen asked, helping Jessica on her feet.
"I don't know," Jessica almost mumbled, staring at her body and then the ruined cupcakes on the ground.
"Is she okay?" Brad asked as Carmen wiped off the dirt on Jessica's dress.
Leo scoffed in disappointment.
Valentina sipped her drink nonchalantly.
Xavier felt like bursting out in anger at the sight of his ruined trousers. Kendra stared at him, noticing his unhappiness at the mess.
"Look at uncle's trousers. What have you done, Jessica?!" Kendra yelled at Jessica, making her flinch a bit as her mother held her closer.
"You have ruined it!" Kendra yelled.
Alex nudged Kendra slightly, but she moved her hand away from him while glaring at Jessica.
Jessica's remorse-filled eyes moved to Xavier's ruined trousers and then to Xavier's angry face.
Jessica blinked nervously, feeling very guilty. She didn't mean to ruin his trousers.
"Apologize!" Kendra sparked.
"Kendra," Brad called, making Kendra look at him.
"That's enough," Brad ordered.
"But she has to apologize, honey." Valentina chipped in, making Carmen and Brad look at her.
"Apologize, Jessica," Leo ordered.
"I am sorry, Uncle," Jessica almost whined, looking at Xavier with her sad, remorse-filled eyes.
Xavier heaved a sigh. "Yeah, it's okay. I will just go change right away. Excuse me," Xavier said, forcing a smile before walking away.
His smile was quickly replaced with a frown as he headed towards his building.
Kendra gave Jessica an angry frown. Jessica looked at her sadly.
"Let's go wash off the dirt in your hands," Carmen said, taking Jessica's hand and heading towards the back of Xavier's building as everyone at the table sat on their seats.
Valentina caressed Kendra's hair the minute Kendra sat next to her.
Brad rested his eyes on Kendra.
"Kendra,"
Kendra looked at him.
"Let this be the last time you yell at Jessica like that again," Brad ordered, making Kendra frown.
"Oh please, Brad, she didn't do anything wrong. Jessica was being clumsy as always," Valentina said, making Leo grit his teeth angrily where he sat.
"I am speaking to my daughter, Valentina," Brad snarled.
Valentina furrowed her brows at him.
He returned his eyes to Kendra.
"Do you hear me, young lady?"
"Yes, dad," Kendra muttered.
"I can't hear you!"
"Brad," Valentina called, making him throw her a glare.
"Let her be, Brad. Jessica deserves more than a simple yell," Leo said, sipping his drink.
Brad scoffed in disbelief.
"See? Even her father understood this," Valentina said.
Xavier returned his gaze to Kendra.
Kendra's eyes met his, but she quickly lowered her gaze.
"Did you hear what I just said, Kendra?"
"Yes, dad" she spoke up.
"Better," Brad said, making Valentina shake her head as she sipped her drink.
"That little walking disaster had to ruin my freaking suit," a pissed Xavier muttered as he walked into his room, while unbuttoning his jacket.
He threw the presents nonchalantly on his bed, letting out a sigh as he walked towards his walk-in closet.
Next, a woman dressed in a revealing red dress walked into his room quietly and closed the door behind her quietly.
She took in the esthetics and luxury of the bedroom. And also the beautiful scent that represents Xavier.
Not long later, Xavier walked out of the closet in just royal blue pants and his black shirt in his hand.
Xavier furrowed his brows at the sight of the woman as she fed her eyes with his insane shirtless body.
Abs to murder for.
Torso to lick and broad shoulders to grip.
"Ivory?" Xavier called.
"Hello, Xavier," she said, forcing her eyes to his.
He scoffed. "I wasn't expecting to see you here tonight."
She shrugged. "You invited me, didn't you?"
Xavier nodded, throwing his shirt on the bed gently and deep his hands into his pockets.
He got more handsome. Ivory is overheating down there by just staring at him.
"I did invite you, but I didn't think you would show up."
"Well, here I am."
Xavier nodded. "It is nice to see you,"
She smirked as his eyes roamed, her red dress covering her hot self.
"You look stunning," he complimented.
Slowly, she moved her hands behind her. She reached for her tiny zip and began drawing it down slowly.
Xavier stood still, staring at her.
Getting to the last spot of her zip, she grabbed the shoulder parts of her dress and pulled it down, exposing her breast to him.
Xavier's hungry green eyes rested on her blankly but his little brother down under was already set for some fun.
He watched as Ivory pulled her dress down to her golden heels and the floor. She walked out of it, feeding his eyes and with her bare self.
"Happy birthday," she said, smirking.
Xavier hummed, bitting his lips slightly as his eyes roamed her naked body.
She raised her brows, playing seductively with the long ponytail of her neatly tied-up blonde hair.
"Aren't you coming to claim your gift?"
"I would be a fool not to," Xavier said, smirking as he moved towards her.
"I am sorry for ruining uncle's trousers, mum" Jessica said as her mother wiped her body.
"I didn't mean to,"
"I know, honey. It's okay. It was just a mistake," Carmen said, working on the dirt on Jessica's body. They are both close to a tap, Carmen is leaning down and wiping Jessica's body with a wet napkin.
"Is he really mad at me?"
"No. He understood it was a mistake. Everyone understood."
"But Kendra....."
"Ignore Kendra, okay?" Carmen blurted.
Kendra stared at Carmen with her sad eyes.
Carmen heaved a sigh, claiming herself. She moved the strands of her hair behind her ear and placed her hands on Jessica's shoulders.
Jessica stared down at her mother.
"Listen, sweetie, ignore Kendra. She is a spoiled kid without manners. I have always told you that. She is spoiled, okay. But you, you are a good kid. My good kid. You didn't mean to ruin your uncle's trousers. It was just a mistake."
Jessica kept staring at her.
"What did I say?"
"It was a mistake."
"Good. Now, smile for me."
Jessica smiled slightly.
"That's my girl. I will just wash off this napkin, and we can go back to the party, okay?"
Jessica nodded and Carmen stood up straight and moved towards the tap.
Jessica stood there, staring at her feet. The guilt still lingered as she thought of Xavier being upset at what she did.
She looked up from her feet, but a continuous movement attracted her eyes towards one of the building's windows.
She saw something she didn't understand in a room through the windows and behind the white curtains.
She saw the silhouettes of two people. One behind the other, riding the other like what Jessica could understand as a horse.
She furrowed her brows.
The one behind the other was grabbing the other's ponytail hair, forcing her head back and pounding into her at a fast pace.
Whatever it means, Jessica has no idea, but she can't take her clueless childish eyes off.
"Alright honey, let's go," Carmen spoke up, and the silhouettes moved away from the window instantly, as if they heard Carmen's voice.
But Jessica kept staring.
"What are you looking at, honey?" Carmen asked, following Jessica's gaze.
She saw a room with the lights on.
"Did you see someone?"
Jessica lowered her gaze.
"No."
"Let's go then."
