Chapter 3 Three
Nuella’s pov
“I will do no such thing!” I screamed and slammed the door shut.
My father merely held the door with his leg before it could close shut.
“How dare you speak to me in that manner? I am your father and have every right to do whatever I want with you!” He barked.
The moment I stepped into the house I could smell the alcohol on him.
“Who was the one who went knocking on the door of trouble? You were the one who caused this, so why do I have to pay for your sins yet again?!”
My sister, Dera, walked into the room already irritated.
“You are the cause of all this! If you weren’t born then mother wouldn’t have died. If you had a job, instead of running around playing Robin Hood, then maybe we would have enough money to feed!”
“Why don’t you get the job? You’re the oldest after all.” I barked back.
“I’m going to be married soon, I can't place myself in such settings.”
I rolled my eyes. How shallow.
“Then tell your so-called mate to help with this because I am not going to get myself involved in this.”
“This is TalanClaw for Christ sake father! Why would you go there?!”
“If your mother was here she would be ashamed of you.” He ignored my questions.
“Not wanting to help your family, not wanting to sacrifice…”
The word sacrifice hit a nerve I didn’t know was still so sensitive.
“Sacrifice?!” I scoffed.
“I’ve sacrificed my whole life to make sure you’re safe. I finally sparked.
I pay off your useless debts with the money I get from selling my kills.
My father blinked once, shocked by my outburst.
“I’ve apologized countless times for my mother's death. A death I had no control over. Yet even the pack hates me!” My sister turned her face in guilt.
“I’ve given my life to this horrible family.
I have no friends, no life, no lover! I have nothing.
But yet it’s not enough. You still hate me so fucking much.”
I could feel something claw at my throat. My eyes began to sting and my voice cracked with each word I spoke.
My father stood quietly.
“Do you really think that speech would change anything?” Dera scoffed.
“Just give up the money Nuella. They threatened to take our house, farm and even me to pay up the debt.”
“I’m honestly sorry Dera,” I sighed. “But this is one thing I can’t do. Father should have thought about this before going over to TalanClaw.”
I honestly cannot think of why my father would go to TalanClaw of all places to take a loan and not just from anyone there but from the cursed half-brother Alphas?!
I want no part of it.
My father finally looked up after being silent for a few minutes.
He walked over to me and slapped me so hard I felt my teeth cut my cheek and tongue.
“Don’t ever raise your voice at me again.” He growled.
“Where is it?!” He screamed into my face.
When I didn’t respond he grabbed me by my dress and yanked me around.
“You will bring out that money to pay off the debt or you’ll die hiding it.”
He pushed me hard and I fell slamming my ass hard against the wooden floor.
He began searching through my room.
Books, clothes and other objects that had little to no value began flying all over the room.
If it were any other person they would have started bawling their eyes out but this isn’t a new thing to me. In fact the last time, I was tied to the stake and threatened to be burnt alive if I didn’t give them all my earnings.
“I’ve done all you’ve wanted from me without complaining, but this!” I yelled as he continued destroying my things.
“This is the one thing I refuse to do. I will not pay your debt with the money I’ve spent months saving for. You know how important this money is to me.”
I sniffled.
“It’s for the preparation of the upcoming mating ceremony.”
“You’ll never be mated!” My father screamed as my shelf came crashing down.
“Never!”
“You’ll die alone! No one would ever want a cursed omega like you, no one would ever want to be mated with you.”
“She can’t even be mated, she has no wolf.” My sister mocked.
Their words hurt more than the others because these people are supposed to be my family but I don’t say anything. I only nodded and watched as he destroyed my room some more before finally giving up.
He groaned in frustration.
“Fine. Don’t give me the money. I’ll just find another way to make up for it. And I can promise that you won’t like my solution.”
I watched as they both left my room in shambles.
Tears threatened to drop from my eyes but I tried my best to hold them back.
I crouched down to clean what had been caught in yet another unfortunate incident.
The moment I picked up a destroyed picture frame, the only thing I had to remember my mother by, my self restraint broke and I collapsed on the floor feeling my heart ache every time I inhaled.

I didn’t want to waste any time fooling around.
It was only a matter of time before father found that money.
I gathered my things ready to leave for my first mission, and the moment I’m done with it I’d leave the Moonblood pack and never turn back.
I gathered the remaining of my things that survived the fall out and they all fit into a small sachet bag.
I got on my horse ready to move when something heavy connected with my head.
I hissed in pain and fell off my horse. She neighed in fear and galloped away.
I weakly stretched my hand, a miserable attempt to call my horse back. The object connected with my head again and this time my vision turned red as blood prickled down my face.
I heard hurried footsteps from behind me.
“Is she dead? Did you kill her? If she’s dead then all this was for nothing!”
“She’s not dead, I can still hear her heartbeat.”
The voices sounded extremely familiar but my brain was too weak to recognize them.
One of them finally came down to my level and held my chin up.
“All this would have ended if you had just given up the money.”
“Bundle her inside the box,” the other ordered. “We’ll send her off tonight.”
That was the last thing I heard before darkness finally consumed me.
