Chapter 4 4
Sasha Castillo.
I took in a sharp inhale, my eyes peeling open immediately. The memories came rushing in as if the floodgates had been openedc, and it came crashing down on me like an avalanche.
The club. The restroom. The gangs. And the guns.
My eyes widened, and I shot up, frantically looking around my surrounding. I hated how familiar it felt as I looked around the exact room I was last in. Only low it was squeaky clean with no evidence of what had transpired earlier in the slightest.
I had almost wondered for a moment whether I had imagined it all in the haze of the alcohol, but the fear felt too vivid, I could remember it all too well. What served as evidence of it once more was the dried bloodstain on my dress and my body as well.
I took in a sharp breath, feeling ny heart begin to race once more as my body began to shake.
“Awake, princessa?” That familiar deep, and husky voice came from beside me, slightly throaty.
I whipped my head around, only to realize I was not alone in the room. The man from earlier — Reaper —I believe he was called was seated beside me, and standing beside him, another buff man with face hard like granite. His gaze was ahead, standing stiffly yet something told me he was aware of everything in the room.
I glanced back at the seated man, to realize we were seated next to each other, my hand brushing his thigh. He did not seem to mind though even though he seemed too busy with his current task at hand.
My gaze dropped to what he as doing.
He held his gun in hand, the very same gun he had used to kill that man earlier, and was wiping it with the handkerchief he held in his other hand. The gun was clean, but he still carried on, as if he was on a mission to make it shine.
I instinctively pulled myself away from him, rushing to get on my feet, doing what my first instinct scream at me to. Make a bolt towards the door.
However, before I could make it halfway through, strong arms wrapped around me, lifting me off the ground and bringing me back to the devil himself.
I screamed, thrashing in the buff man’s arms as I tried my best to get away. I flayed my arms, kicked my legs, screamed at the top of my lungs—- something, anything to gain someone’s attention here.
“LET GO OF ME! Help! SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE! HELP!!”
Certainly someone would hear if I just screamed loud enough, right?
The man that held me wrapped his arms around me, subduing me in an instant but I continued screaming regardless.
I watched as the Reaper finally looked up, and there was no trace of his earlier amusement in the slightest. He gave the man behind me a look, and the man immediately let go of me.
I made a dash for it, stopping when a soft click I knew — I hated that I knew now by the way by muscle memory— came, and I froze in my spot, my mind going back to the bloodbath from earlier.
“Turn around. I’m not going to repeat myself.”
I swallowed a lump, but did as he said, slowly turning around to face him. My breath got caught in my throat when I found him pointing his gun at me just as I suspected.
His gaze was cold, blank, and devoid of any emotion. It was the same look he had earlier before he executed the man that held me without a hint of remorse. He was staring at me with that same look. His tone was just the same when he spoke once more.
“Come here.” Two words. He did not raise his voice, or ground it or anything.
Just that look and the gun was warning enough not to dare him, and I loved my life too much to risk it.
So, I swallowed a lump, and slowly pushed my heavy feet in his direction though every instinct in me screamed at me to bolt the other way. But bolt and risk getting killed? No thank you.
Upon reaching where he was seated, his hand suddenly shot up, taking a hold of my wrist and with one tug, he had me on my knees right in front of him and his gun placed under my jaw, pointing upwards.
I whimpered, feeling my eyes well with tears once more but I tried to hold it.
His face hovered over mine, inches away, and the way his eyes skimmed mine seemed as though he could see right through me. My insides shuddered.
His hand that held my wrist left it, moving to grasp a handful of my hair, tilting my head up firmly to force me to look at him, but not enough to hurt. It kept me in place.
A shaky breath escaped my lips. “Please let me go.” The words escaped my lips in a whisper, my voice breaking. A single tear slid down my face, my lower lip quivering. “Please.”
The corner of his lips tilted only slightly into a ghost like smirk. His hand moved to my face, his thumb brushing away the tear, and the tender act betrayed the harshness of his gun pressed against my throat.
“No can do, princessa.” He responded, his voice dropping. When his eyes found mine again, the ghost smile from earlier had disappeared and the coldness had returned. “Now I am only going to ask you this once, so think well before you answer me.” His eyes narrowed, his voice arctic cold. “Who sent you, and who are you working for?”
My eyes widened. The actual hell? Who am I working for? Heck, I have not even graduated and with how overprotective Mamá is, how can I work for someone?
I swallowed a lump, my eyes finding his once more, and I knew that wasn’t the kind of work he was asking for.
“No one.” I answered earnestly. “I do not work for anyone.”
“Wrong answer.” He pressed the gun to my throat once more, and I felt his hand move tithe trigger.
My hands instinctively moved to cover both his hands that held the gone, and from the corner of my eyes, I saw the man from earlier move close, as if ready to charge if I were to pull some trick on this man.
But did I look like I have a death wish?
The man arched a brow, and I found myself parting my lips to speak in rushed words.
“I swear it. I do not work for anyone. Heck, I am still a college student and I just came here for a few drinks with my friend then got lost looking for a restroom.” The words tumbled past my lips before I could think or curse myself for it. I have this bad habit of rambling when scared, and right now, I am shitting myself.
A pressing feeling down there reminded me that I am still in need of relieving myself. I am surprised I had not peeed myself earlier with the scare I got really.
I tried to ignore it and focus on saving my neck first.
He did not seem convinced. His eyes instead narrowed at me in slits, and of looks could kill, I would already be six feet deep. Then he did that thing of his head tilting, his eyes accessing. What is he looking for exactly? I had no idea.
But I guess he must have found it, because his voice then came once more. “And you expect me to believe that?” His voice was dangerously low. “I had see countless snakes and gold diggers like you for different reasons. What’s yours?” He pulled my head up once more, and I succumbed to it for I had no other choice. I could feel his breath on my face when he added. “Are you trying to kill me, or make your way into my bed?”
My insides squirms, and I hated my treacherous body that was moved my his sickening words, making heat pool down there when all my mind could think of was— does this man have superiority complex or something? Did I seem like I was capable of either of that.
I tried to play safe, keeping my sassiness aside before it makes me have a bullet through my head. “I don’t even know you.” I confessed.
“You don’t know me?” He does not seem to believe me.
The answer escaped my lisp before I could think. “Am I supposed to?” I zipped my lips immediately I saw his eyes narrow. And I swallowed a thick lump, quickly correcting myself. “I do not.”
His eyes narrowed even more if that was possible, and I had started to wonder at this point whether that was his thing— glaring and all. He seemed to be fond of it.
While he was pondering how to take my life no doubt, I figured since I was already in the edge and he would do to me as he pleases regardless, I found myself uttering what was on my mind next.
“I know you do not believe me. But before you could finish thinking of how to kill me, can you do me one favor?” Where did my newfound confidence come from being held at a gunpoint for the second time in one night? I do not know.
His brow arches perfectly. “You are not in any position to ask for a favor.” That was not a no though.
“I know.” I breathed out. “But hear me out first, please?”
He did not answer, but his gaze remained on me.
I swallowed a lump, then decided to lay it out.
“Can you show me the restroom because I really need to pee now.”
