Chapter 2 Two
Dave stares at her, wanting to understand her intention, his hazel eye balls locks onto hers with an intensity that made her heart flutter.
For a moment, they just stared at each other.
Then, without saying a word, Dave leaned in and pressed his lips to hers.
The kiss was like a spark of light, sending shivers down Lilly's spine.
She felt like she was melting into Dave's arms, like nothing else mattered except for that moment.
As they broke apart for air, Lilly blushes, feeling shy all of a sudden, she had not expected Dave to go along with her.
She only wants Eric to feel Jealous but they end up kissing for real.
"Dave." Dave stretches his hands towards her introducing himself, his eyes not leaving her face.
Lilly's smile softly, feeling a little embarrassed for being so bold.
"I…I'm Lilly” she stutters.
“Nice to meet you, Dave." Her face flushed red with embarrassment.
"Thanks for that," she said, her voice barely above whisper.
She felt shy, she had not kiss anyone after Eric left her.
She looks at Eric from her side eye and realize he was still watching her, so, she continues to play along.
Dave grinned back at her, as her eyes drift to Eric.
"Anytime," he said and seems to have seen through her.
Lilly knew Eric must be grinning his teeth by now and his face must have been twisted with anger.
She smiled to herself, feeling a sense of satisfaction.
She had made her point, letting him know she was over him, and that she had moved on.
But as she looks back at Dave’s, she realized that she might have just gotten herself into a whole lot more than she bargained for.
Dave was looking at her with a curious expression, like he was trying to figure her out.
"What's going on, Lilly?"
He asked as he lean closer to her, whispering into her ear.
"You're not just using me to get back at your ex, are you?"
Lilly's heart skipped a beat.
“How did he know?” she looks petrified but smiled up at him, trying to play it cool.
"Maybe… a little," she said in a low voice and force another smile.
Dave's eyes locked onto hers, and for a moment, they just stared at each other.
Lilly’s mind reeled as Dave stared at her, she knew that look well.
Then, without saying a word, Dave leaned in and kissed her again.
This time, it was different, not a joke, it felt like he meant it.
The kiss deepened, and Lilly felt herself getting lost in the moment, she couldn't believe how much she wanted the kiss, how much she has missed that feeling.
It was like her whole body was on fire, and only Dave’s kiss could put out the flames.
Everyone stares at them as the attention of all the students are now on them.
It was shocking that someone like Lilly will be so bold to kiss Dave, the guy all girls in the campus have their eyes on but only has his eyes on Sofia, the sexiest girl on campus.
Dave’s basketball group cheerleader.
As they broke apart for air, Lilly don't expect herself to get carried away with the kiss.
She blinks severally after Dave let go, feeling shy, she blushed hard.
Eric is filled with jealousy looking at them both, he had thought Lilly was trying to get back at him but the last kiss felt so real.
The entire hall fell silent.
Sofia Mytle, the most popular cheerleader on campus, Dave’s girlfriend, stood at the center of the crowd with fire blazing in her eyes.
The red short gown she was wearing hugged her curves tightly, her long hair bounced as she stormed towards Lilly like an angry bee.
Everyone knew Sofia and Dave were together including Lilly herself, but because she wanted to prove to Eric that she was over him, she dares kiss him.
Looking at Sofia storming towards her, she swallows her saliva nervously.
Dave kissing another girl publicly was enough to shake the whole hall, and the girl happens to be Lilly, whom everyone knew as the “ghost girl”.
Lilly’s breathe fastened as Sofia stopped right in front of her.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” she snapped, her eyes fixed on Lilly’s face in anger.
The students start to whisper.
“Isn’t that Dave’s girlfriend?”
“She’s dead.”
“Lilly actually kissed Dave?”
Dave narrowed his eyes slightly, but smirked.
He is known as a play boy, dating numerous girls because of his popularity but none of them dare to boldly come out or kiss Dave openly because they feared Sofia.
“She is not even a wolf, just an ordinary human.”
Sofia thinks biting her lips angrily.
Prestige University is dominated with human and werewolves. It is not a known fact to most of the human though.
“Sofia.”
Dave calls trying to calm her down but before he could finish, Sofia raised her hand and give Lilly a dirty slap.
“Slap!”
The sound echoed loudly across the hall.
Lilly staggered backward in shock; she holds her face which was burning hot because of the slap.
Her eyes fell but she could not do anything and only hold her face.
The hall grew silent, as if no one dare to breathe.
Eric looks furious as Lilly got slapped, he wanted to intervene but he knew Lilly might not like it, so he restrains himself.
Lilly’s heart pounded painfully as shame washed over her.
Sofia glared at her with disgust.
“You shameless thing!” she spat at her.
“You think because you are dressed up tonight, you can steal my boyfriend?!”
Lilly opened her mouth but no words came out.
She wasn’t thinking straight when she headed towards Dave, she only wants to make Eric jealous but Dave kissed her instead.
She never expected things to escalate this far.
“I…I” she wants to try to explain herself but she knew it will be useless.
“You what?” Sofia smirked angrily.
“You kissed him in front of everyone!”
The students start to murmurs again.
Seeing how embarrassed Lilly is, Dave’s expression darkens.
To him, everything was just for fun, but Sofia seems to have taken it so far.
“That’s enough, Sofia.”
The moment those words dropped from Dave, the students looked stunned.
A big shock flashes across Sofia’s face.
“What?”
Dave instantly steps in front of Lilly protectively.
“I said enough!”
The entire hall gasped, even Lilly froze seeing Dave defending her.
Sofia looked at him like she doesn’t understand what was going on.
“You’re defending her?” her voice cracked slightly.
Dave’s jaw tightened.
“Yes, I did!”
Sofia smirked in disbelief.
“Dave, she kissed you!”
“And I kissed her back,” Dave replied like it’s no big deal.
Another wave of gasps filled the hall.
Lilly stared at Dave in a total disbelief, she wonders why he was defending her.
Eric was boiling with anger where he is but he could not do anything.
“You are embarrassing me in front of everyone.” Sofia whispered, she felt hurt.
“You should calm down first.”
“You kissed another girl in front of everyone, and you want me to calm down.”
Dave stayed silent, the silent hurt Sofia even more.
“You,” Sofia decides to teach Lilly a lesson, hatred burning in her voice.
“Sofia, I’m warning you.”
Dave said angrily and pull Lilly away, taking her out of the hall.
“Oh my! Dave chose Lilly over Sofia!”
The students were shocked as shamed washed over Sofia who stand as if her feet suddenly get rooted on the spot.
