　　Victor stared at me for a moment, his eyes unreadable. "You can't," he said quietly. "You're already too far in."

　　And then he turned and walked out, leaving me standing there, alone.

　　My heart was still pounding, my mind a whirlwind of fear and confusion. What had just happened?
