Chapter 2 Check what's going on with Eva Joseph.

The Willow Gardens. Adam Allen, looking weary, stepped out of the room after comforting Rebecca Twist. The butler approached him with a report, "Sir, at the villa, Madam has signed and left, but she didn't take the check." Adam frowned, surprised that Eva Joseph would leave with nothing.

Since losing her memory, she hadn't worked outside and had no skills or savings. Didn't she think about how she would survive in the future?

The butler hesitated before adding in a low voice, "I heard that before Madam left, a gentleman came to pick her up... They seemed quite close. It appears to be the second master of the Pearson Family."

Adam's expression darkened, followed by a cold laugh.

No wonder she didn't want his money; she had already found someone else.

He had always thought Eva was genuinely obedient and gentle, but it seemed he had been wrong.

Remembering how she deliberately sent a message to Rebecca, causing her to almost have a relapse, his expression grew even colder. He ordered icily, "Get the divorce finalized as soon as possible. Also, have the villa cleaned out."

The butler was about to leave when Adam called him back, his expression inscrutable, "Look into what's going on between Eva Joseph and the Pearson second master."

How could a woman with amnesia, who has been reclusive for years, know a man like Tom Pearson?

Was she just that good at pretending, or was it all a scam from the start? ...

In the presidential suite, Eva Joseph emerged from her bath and lazily sprawled on the couch.

Her slightly damp hair cascaded down, adding a touch of allure to her already stunning face. However, her eyes were so deep and sharp that they were intimidating. Seeing her come out, Tom Pearson quickly ended his phone call and handed her a cocktail. But then he noticed the injury on her forehead, and his expression turned cold. "You're hurt? Who did this?"

Eva waved it off. "Just someone insignificant. What's happening at home now?"

Tom knew that if Eva didn't want to talk about something, no one could make her. So he rolled his eyes, took the cocktail from her, and replaced it with a glass of juice.

"After you disappeared, the old man fell ill. The second branch of the family, backed by the matriarch, tried to seize power. But then the third branch suddenly brought back a pair of twins, and their tactics were impressive. Now they're evenly matched with the second branch."

Eva's expression only changed slightly at the mention of the old man's illness, then returned to her usual calm demeanor.

"And how's the outside world reacting?"

"At first, they were just watching. But since you haven't shown up, some forces are getting restless and starting to probe. Those two branches are also not behaving, trying to spread the news of your disappearance." Tom's face darkened as he spoke.

He wouldn't interfere in the internal struggles of the Joseph family. As long as Eva Joseph returned, those people wouldn't be a threat. However, if news of Eva's disappearance spread, it would surely cause turmoil within the Joseph family and attract hostile forces eager to hunt her down. That's why they hadn't dared to search for Eva Joseph openly.

Recently, he had spent considerable effort keeping those restless individuals at bay.

Eva Joseph's face remained emotionless as she asked, "Who pushed me into the sea?"

Three years ago, she had attended a family cruise party aboard the yacht Ocean Star. While taking a breath of fresh air on the deck, she let her guard down and was pushed overboard. Adam Allen had rescued her, but she lost all her memories.

"Brenda Joseph from the second branch. She claimed it was out of jealousy and acted impulsively. The old man wanted to punish her, but the old lady protected her."

A hint of sarcasm flashed in Eva's eyes.

Her grandmother, so biased it was unreasonable, would eventually exhaust her grandfather's last bit of goodwill.

Tom Pearson chuckled, "It's a pity for the old lady's efforts. Shortly after you disappeared, Brenda Joseph had a car accident in her sedan. Whether she'll wake up for the rest of her life is still unknown."

Eva Joseph narrowed her eyes slightly, showing no emotion at Brenda Joseph's fate. Her fingers lightly tapped her knee. "Keep my return a secret for now."

Tom Pearson was taken aback. "You're not planning to go back?" "Let's wait and see what tricks they still have up their sleeves," she said, a smile playing on her lips that didn't quite reach her eyes.

It was time to deal with the pack of ungrateful hyenas that dared to bite the hand that fed them.

...

The Velvet Room.

"Really divorced?" Oliver looked shocked in the private room. "Eva Joseph agreed?"

Those close to her knew how much Eva loved Adam Allen.

Back then, aware that Adam was marrying her just to appease his family's pressure, Eva willingly faced all sorts of difficulties and disdain to be his trophy wife. She poured her heart out for him after the marriage. Would she really agree to divorce him so easily now?

Adam suddenly remembered the news from the butler that Eva and someone named Tom had checked into the Grand Meridian Hotel and hadn't left. His gaze darkened.

"We had an agreement before the marriage, and besides, it's something I owe Rebecca."

Oliver looked like he was at a loss for words.

Harry wasn't pleased with what he saw. "What's the matter? Are you feeling sorry for that woman? Or are you saying my sister can't compare to an orphan with no parents?"

If it hadn't been for Adam Allen's mom interfering back then, his precious sister would have been the Allen family's young mistress, instead of letting that woman take the rightful place. Oliver chuckled awkwardly. Both sides were his friends; what could he say that wouldn't offend anyone?

But thinking of the woman with the gentle and serene smile, he had a nagging feeling that Adam would regret it one day.

"And don't think she's all that innocent. She deliberately sent cozy photos to Rebecca to provoke her. If Rebecca hadn't been gracious enough to let it go, I wouldn't have let her off so easily!" Harry said, casting a glance at Adam.

"I'll make sure she apologizes to Rebecca," Adam promised.

Harry finally seemed satisfied.

Downstairs, Eva Joseph walked into the bar with Tom Pearson's VIP card, instantly drawing whistles and howls from the crowd.

Her wavy hair cascaded freely, and the tight, sequined strap dress accentuated her curvy figure, making her look even more alluring. With just a touch of lipstick, her face was a mix of innocence and desire, incredibly enticing. She didn't head to the second-floor private room. Instead, she started dancing in the main hall downstairs, moving with the energetic beat. Before long, a circle of men hoping to catch her attention surrounded her.

Harry came downstairs to pick someone up and immediately spotted the beauty at the center of the dance floor. His heart skipped a beat as he walked over, squeezing through the crowd to shout, "Hey, gorgeous! I've got a party going on upstairs. Want to join?"

Eva Joseph glanced at him and instantly recognized him as Rebecca Twist's older brother.

In the past, he had often sneered or warned her because of Rebecca. Right now, it was clear he didn't recognize her.

With a playful smile, she raised her chin slightly and extended her hand to Harry as if granting him a favor.

Harry, feeling triumphant, grabbed her hand and led her upstairs.

The others could only watch helplessly as the beauty was taken away, unable to do anything about it.

After all, not just anyone could go up to the second floor.

"What's your name, beautiful?" Harry asked, looking closely at her enchanting face, feeling more and more intrigued.

"Allen," Eva replied succinctly, casually observing the decorations on the second floor.

Harry was about to ask more when his phone rang. Seeing who was calling, he slapped his forehead and quickly turned to Eva, saying, "I forgot I have to pick someone up. Just head to the largest private room at the end of the hallway."

Eva Joseph waved a hand, indicating understanding. Harry turned and went downstairs, but Eva didn't head to the private room Harry mentioned. Instead, she made her way to the third floor. As she turned the corner of the hallway, she was met with the sight of a tall, well-built young man surrounded by a group of bodyguards dressed in black.

At first glance, the young man's beauty was breathtaking. Unlike Adam Allen's cold arrogance, this young man exuded a cool, serene aura, his eyes clear and refined, as if untouched by the mundane world. Yet, his noble demeanor carried an intense, heart-stopping sense of pressure, his presence incredibly commanding.

This man was dangerous!
