Chapter 4 What's going on?

“Hello there,how are you, my cute sister in law?? Looking all fine as usual,” I heard someone open my office door as I was getting ready to leave.

“But what's wrong with you?? What do you gain from nagging me huh??” I asked this stupid Herman's younger brother who is always on my case and I hate the fact that we work in the same company.

“Come on! What's wrong in greeting my cute sister in law!?” He asked with a smirk.

“Wait,did I say that I'm in need of anyone greeting me?? Just mind your business and leave me the fuck alone,” I raised my voice.

“Okay okay…there's no need of getting mad here,if you don't want me to greet you so be it,” he gave in.

“Funny that after all this while,you are just giving in now!! But whatever I don't give a fuck…so help me and get out of my office because I am closing and heading back home,” I told him and this time it was full of arrogance.

“Oh wait! !! You think I only came here to disturb you!?? No,I came here because I have been sent by someone to tell you that you should wait for a few minutes before heading back home,” he said.

“Who has the authority to send you over here to me and thinks that I will listen to him/her!??”I asked him.

“Well,I can't disclose the person because he told me it's a surprise and that's all you should know,” he replied.

“Okay then,help me tell him that I am leaving right now and I won't stay behind just because he sent you (glares at him)...so please get the hell out of my way right now,” I shouted at him.

“Ava please stop being stubborn for once…if you leave,he will think that I didn't deliver the message yet I did…please have pity on me,” he begged me.

“And what makes you think that I care about you!?? (Scoffs) one thing I am sure of is that I am leaving this office and not later but right now…so deal with it…Oh! I think this is the time you rush or call whoever sent you that I am leaving the office right about now,” I sternly told him.

“Okay Ava listen please, it's your sweetheart sent me here…damn I have said it and ruined the surprise (slaps himself in the face) I am so dead,” he said in a low tone.

“Herman???!” I asked him just to be sure.

“Yes that's right…you have really put me in a critical position to disclose him which I didn't want,” he said.

“Please save me the drama,so why would Herman tell me to wait huh!!? Wait,let me give him a call right now,” I pulled out my phone and he wanted to stop me from calling him but it was already too late.

“Hey babe where are you?” That's the first thing he asked when he picked up.

“I am still at the office,so it's true you sent this stupid boy to stop me from going home??” I asked him.

“Wait,he told you that it's me!!? Oh Jeez that stupid boy doesn't know how to keep secrets…fuckkkk,” he cursed on the phone.

“So it's true!!!! Now what's the point of keeping me here?? Herman I am really tired because I had a hectic day so spit it already, “ I told him.

“Okay wait for me babe,let me come there right now…is that stupid guy still there?? If so,tell him to come and meet me outside here.” He said before hanging up.

“You heard him right? Now off you go…” I opened the door for him and he got out.

But I still don't understand why babe told me to stay here when he knows that we are closing…something is fishy,I wonder what he is up to!??

I sat there and waited for him and it took him something like thirty minutes to get here.

“Hey babe I am sorry to keep you waiting but I'm here now,” he hugged me tightly even though I didn't hug him back because I was passed for keeping me waiting this long.

“Babe I said I am sorry…please drop that gloomy face already,” he pecked my nose and I smiled.

“Babe, why would you make me sit here for this long?? What's going on?? You are acting strange,” I asked him.

“Baabe come with me please…I was working on something and I wanted to go back home with you,” he replied.

“Huh!!!?? How come I feel it's hard for me to believe you!!? Herman, tell me the truth, what is going on?? What are you guys hiding from me??” I asked again.

“Babe I swear we are not hiding anything from you…now come,let's get out of this place because everyone has left and we are the only ones left,” he made me stand up and grabbed my bag then we stepped out of the office.

“Babe wait,we are not going to use the elevator,” he said.

“No babe,I am so fuckn tired…please don't expect me to use staircases at this point no way,” I refused.

“Please babe…come with me,let's use the staircases for only today, “ he seriously begged me.

“But what is really going on here?!! Now you have proved to me more that indeed there's something you are hiding from me,” I told him.

He didn't reply but rather he lifted me up in the air with my head falling down on his back which caught me by surprise.

“Babe put me down….” I started banging his back but he couldn't listen.

“You really forced me to do this because you were acting stubborn and not listening to me so bare with it,” he walked down the stairs but I couldn't stop shouting to put me down and he was acting like he was not listening to me at all.
