Chapter 6: She Is Glowing

This time George didn't answer right away. His eyes remained on Charlotte.

Jennifer's expression stiffened slightly, then she forced an awkward smile, lowered her head, and said nothing more.

In contrast, Charlotte and Jack were chatting happily.

Until they got off the yacht, the smile never left Charlotte's face.

Sarah had already arranged for a car. As soon as they got off the boat, someone came to pick them up. George and Jennifer were still standing there waiting for friends.

Sarah linked arms with Charlotte, quietly complaining about George.

"That extra person is finally gone. Charlotte, how about we go diving?"

Charlotte laughed at her tone. "Haven't you always been scared of diving?"

"That was before. Now I have you, this super amazing beautiful instructor with me. What's there to be afraid of?"

After saying that, Sarah couldn't wait to have someone help arrange a diving spot.

Watching the excitement on Sarah's face, Charlotte felt a bit dazed.

She hadn't been diving in a long time.

The last time she went diving seemed to be when she first met George?

She had accidentally heard that he didn't like women who were too showy, so she restrained all her edges, learned to be like those well-behaved socialite women, and became a Ms. Blake that everyone was satisfied with.

At the diving spot, Sarah had already prepared the wetsuits.

She pushed Charlotte into the changing room.

"Go change quickly. I'll play around by myself first."

Seeing her eagerly rush toward one of the male attendants, Charlotte shook her head helplessly.

Sure enough, Sarah knew how to enjoy herself.

Charlotte came out after changing. Just as she was about to get in the water, what a coincidence—Jennifer's group appeared again.

Seeing Charlotte, Jennifer instinctively hugged George's arm tighter.

George had already noticed Charlotte and was frowning at her.

Charlotte had a great figure. The tight wetsuit showed off her body perfectly, without an ounce of excess fat.

Shameless.

George forced himself to look away.

Charlotte felt someone watching her. When she looked up and saw George, annoyance quickly flashed in her eyes.

Running into someone annoying twice in one day meant her luck was really bad today.

"George, I want to go diving too. It looks so fun."

As she spoke, Jennifer was already pulling George toward Charlotte, with several followers behind them.

"Charlotte, you can actually dive? How come we've never seen you show this before?"

Charlotte pretended not to hear her somewhat noisy voice and prepared to get in the water.

"What are you doing?"

George suddenly reached out and pulled her back.

Charlotte stumbled and fell into his arms.

Before she could steady herself, George recoiled from her like she was a snake, pushing her away with surprising agility.

"George! What are you doing?"

Sarah caught Charlotte in time, helping her stand steady while looking at George with displeasure.

George felt a bit guilty.

But soon George frowned again, scolding her in a serious tone.

"Charlotte, can you stop showing off? Do you even know how to dive before getting in the water?"

Charlotte laughed sarcastically.

"Charlotte, you're still George's wife after all. If something happens, how will the media report it? Can't you think about George for once?"

Jennifer interrupted Charlotte, joining in to criticize her.

So in the end, it was her fault?

Charlotte was amused by the absurdity.

Before she could speak, George's followers got upset.

"What are you laughing at? Everyone knows you're the one who clings to George all day. Now you want to change your image and pretend to be some all-around genius?"

"Your head is full of romance all day long. You probably can't even figure out what 1+1 equals, and you want to dive?"

"Trying to copy others. You just see that Jennifer can do it, so you have to do it too?"

Hearing her friends' praise, Jennifer proudly puffed out her chest.

Jennifer looked at Charlotte with a smile. "Charlotte, if you really want to learn, why not let George teach you? George is really good at it."

"A bunch of lunatics." Charlotte only said this one sentence coolly.

Seeing them look displeased, she sneered, "Are you all that close to me? You're the best at everything—every bad habit. You're the best. Happy now?"

After saying that, she rolled her eyes.

Rather than waste her breath with these idiots on land, she'd rather play with fish in the sea.

Ignoring them, Charlotte went straight into the water.

"Charlotte!" George instinctively tried to stop her.

But the next second, he was stunned.

In the azure seawater, Charlotte was like a carefree mermaid, swimming joyfully and gracefully.

"Charlotte can dive?" Someone said.

The others quickly pulled out their phones to record this beautiful scene.

George's eyes showed some complexity.

It seemed Charlotte not only could swim, but swam very well.

Half an hour later, Charlotte surfaced.

George had been sitting under a nearby umbrella the whole time.

Seeing her come ashore, he got up and strode toward her.

"George." Jennifer suddenly grabbed his arm, looking at him with teary eyes. "I'm feeling a bit unwell. Can you take me back to rest?"

George looked in the direction Charlotte had left, his brow furrowed, seemingly lost in thought.

"George." Jennifer called him again.

She gently shook George's arm, trying to pull his attention back.

George looked back at her with concern. "Where don't you feel well?"

Jennifer immediately covered her chest, looking very distressed.

"I can't really say. I just feel awful, like I'm about to die. George, I'm not really going to die, am I?"

As she spoke, tears began to fall.

Seeing her cry, George couldn't be bothered to question Charlotte and immediately left with Jennifer.

Back in the room, George was still distracted, occasionally staring out the window in a daze.

A vicious look quickly flashed in Jennifer's eyes.

She leaned against him, hugged him with her eyes closed, pretending to be very tired so George wouldn't leave.

On the beach, Sarah was complaining to Charlotte about George.

"Seeing those two just now was really disgusting."

Charlotte smiled indifferently. "You think that's disgusting already? They haven't even done anything yet."

Sarah gave a thumbs up, her words full of admiration.

"Charlotte, all these years having to deal with such a two-faced bitch, you've really had it tough."

"It's okay. From now on, I don't have to put up with it anymore." Charlotte said with a smile.

From now on, she and George would have nothing to do with each other.

Sarah nodded in agreement. "You're right. We really should avoid jerks like George from now on, so we don't get disgusted."

After saying that, Sarah called Jack over.

"Keep Charlotte company and make her happy. If you do, I'll hire you for a month."

Charlotte looked at Sarah speechlessly, then lowered her head to look at the photos on her phone.
