Chapter 2 Rebirth and Face-Slapping
Ivy, who had been silent all along, suddenly spoke up, interrupting the conversation.
Actually, the original Ivy wasn't stupid—she was just a bit slow. To gain the Cooper family's approval, she had definitely studied hard, and finally managed to get a C in math on this exam.
She thought she'd get praise from her parents, but instead Charlotte accused her of cheating. Her test score was cancelled and she was humiliated.
Charlotte helped Elizabeth up, rolling her eyes and snorting coldly, "Sister, stop being stubborn. Everyone at the capital high school knows you're an idiot. No matter how hard you study, you can only get Ds on tests. Suddenly getting a seventy in math—who are you trying to fool?"
Elizabeth, with a scraped forehead, was fuming inside. "Enough! So young and already cheating and lying. Did the Cooper family offend God or something to have a daughter like you?"
"Thank goodness Lottie gets good grades and is an excellent student, otherwise you'd have completely embarrassed us."
Charlotte smiled smugly, then attentively supported Elizabeth.
Elizabeth looked at Ivy with contempt, her tone disgusted, "Go write a confession letter right now. Tomorrow, read it out in front of the whole school and apologize publicly. Try to get the principal to go easy on you."
Ivy crossed her arms and lifted her head coldly, her back straight. "I'll say it again—I didn't cheat."
"Since you say that, do you dare to retake the test right now?"
Bob suddenly suggested. Charlotte immediately mocked. "Mr. Monroe, aren't you just making her embarrass herself again? She wouldn't dare."
"What's there to be afraid of?"
Ivy agreed immediately, then said, "If I prove I didn't cheat, then you..."
Her rough, yellowish hand suddenly pointed at Bob as she said word by word, "Tomorrow, in front of the whole school, apologize to me."
"What?! Ivy, have you lost your mind!"
--
On the other side of the city, in a huge villa with dim lighting, a man sat elegantly on an Italian custom leather sofa. His assistant, dressed in an expensive suit, bowed respectfully.
"Sir, your fiancée has caused trouble at school again. Should we step in to help?"
His slender fingers slid across the tablet. On the screen was today's latest news, reporting on a massive explosion in the Mississippi forest.
A new message suddenly popped up on the tablet. The message box contained photos of two people.
One was Kira's, and the other was a young girl.
--
At that moment in the principal's office, Ivy was propping up her chin with one hand while casually writing answers on the test paper with the other.
For Blood Dove, who regularly decoded complex Morse codes and studied biochemical formulas, these high school test questions were so simple she could answer them with her eyes closed.
Writing ten answers per second made her drowsy. The three people standing in the distance watched Ivy's state and mocked, "Mom, look at Ivy, she's almost falling asleep. She probably can't answer a single question, hahaha."Charlotte looked contemptuously at the drowsy figure, her tone mocking. "The midterm exam questions were much harder than before. I could only get Bs in math and English. For an idiot like Ivy, getting a D would be good enough. Mr. Monroe, why waste your time on an idiot?"
"Well, I didn't find evidence of her cheating. Since she won't admit it, this is the only way."
"The principal's office has surveillance cameras. The entire process will be recorded, so she'll have to admit it whether she wants to or not."
Bob took a sip of hot tea. He could already imagine all six papers getting Fs.
Ivy yawned again as she pulled out the last chemistry paper. After scanning it, she half-closed her eyes and started writing answers at lightning speed.
Two minutes later, she put down her pen.
"Done."
The three people talking at the door all turned around. Elizabeth was first to mock, "Only ten minutes have passed and you've finished all six papers?"
"Ten minutes? That is a bit long."
Mainly because writing out the steps took some time.
"What?!"
Charlotte assumed Ivy couldn't answer anything and just scribbled randomly. Looking at the six papers filled with answers, she gloated. "Ivy, I know you're stupid, but you can't be stupid enough to think filling in the blanks will get you points, hahaha."
Bob and Elizabeth laughed along. "Alright, stop embarrassing yourself. Go home and write your confession. No need to look at these papers."
What could she write in ten minutes? With Ivy's brain, she probably couldn't even solve the first math question.
Bob thought the same as Elizabeth, but with the surveillance recording, he had to go through the motions. He picked up the six papers with distaste and pretended to check the math paper answers with a red pen.
"First question, C. Oh, she got it right."
"Must be a lucky guess. The first question was harder—lots of people got it wrong."
Charlotte laughed mockingly from the side. Then Bob checked the following answers. "Second question, also correct. Hey, not bad odds."
Then the third question, the fourth question...
When all twelve multiple-choice questions were correct, a strange silence filled the office. Bob completely stopped talking. He took his red pen and quickly checked the fill-in-the-blank and problem-solving answers. All correct!?
Even the last big problem was right!?
And the solution steps were complete—this was a perfect score paper!
What was even more terrifying was that all her subjects were A+!
Charlotte, standing to the side, was stunned. "Impossible!!"
"How could you get perfect scores on everything? I only got Bs on this exam."
Charlotte looked in shock at the papers on the desk—all perfect scores except for Mandarin. Elizabeth was equally stunned. Most importantly, Ivy had only taken ten minutes to do all this?
"I know!"
Charlotte slammed the desk, exclaiming. "You must have memorized the answers beforehand! That's why you so readily agreed to retake the test!"
As if finding an explanation for the unreasonable, Bob breathed a sigh of relief and said sternly.
"Ivy, you've disappointed me so much!"
"I trusted you and gave you a chance to retake it, and you memorized the answers beforehand."
He pointed angrily at Ivy, but she crossed her arms and sneered, "Mr. Monroe, do you still have a brain?"
"Ivy, how dare you talk to the principal like that! Apologize!"
Elizabeth scolded, but Ivy ignored her and continued to Bob. "The exam only finished this morning. The answer key hasn't even been released yet. Memorize the answers? From where? From your brain?"
"You!!"
Bob's eyes blazed with anger, but he couldn't say a word in rebuttal. Because Ivy was right. But how could an idiot possibly get A+s?!
Ivy yawned again. For some reason, she'd been very sleepy since her rebirth. She said impatiently, "Mr. Monroe, I didn't cheat. At tomorrow's school assembly, you must apologize to me."
Making the principal publicly apologize to a student, and an idiot at that—how could that be possible?!
Bob snorted disdainfully, "Ivy, don't think you can threaten me just because you used dirty tricks to get perfect scores! Why should I apologize to you?!"
Ivy leaned lazily against the bookshelf, a hint of coldness in her eyes.
"Because there are surveillance cameras in this office. If I submit this to the school board, it won't be as simple as an apology!"
"You!!"
