Chapter 7 Then I’ll Kill You
The bread fell to the ground and got covered in dust. Ivy froze, staring down at it.
Angela was already scared out of her wits by the scene. She hid behind Ivy and kept urging, "Ivy, maybe we should just apologize. They're so scary."
Angela's voice was trembling as she spoke, but Ivy's tone grew even colder. "Did you forget what I told you last night? With some people, the softer you are, the more they'll bully you."
"But there are too many of them. We can't win..."
"Oh, what are these two ugly girls whispering about?"
"What could they be whispering about? They're probably scared to death. Haha."
Seeing Ivy seemingly too scared to speak now, the students behind Jane became even more arrogant.
But Ivy just stared at the bread on the ground, her tone ice-cold. "Is this how you waste food?"
Although she used to live lavishly with endless money and food, she hated people wasting food more than anything in her life.
Even now, she absolutely wouldn't allow such things to happen.
"What? Don't tell me you can't bear to part with one piece of bread. Hahaha, poor trash will always be poor trash, never good enough for anything."
"Ivy, is this your meal for the whole day? You're treating a crappy piece of bread like treasure. This disgusting bread isn't even good enough to wipe Jane's shoes."
With her friends backing her up, Jane's eyes grew more arrogant, and she spoke with disgust. "Wipe shoes? Haha, I'd feel sick just touching this bread. What's the difference between this and pig feed? Who would use pig feed to wipe shoes?"
More and more onlookers gathered, all eagerly watching Ivy in the center of the crowd.
She bent down and picked up the bread that was already as dirty as could be with one hand.
"Ivy, if the bread's dirty, it's dirty. Let's just apologize quickly and not cause trouble."
Angela said carefully, but the mocking laughter behind them grew even louder.
"Oh my god, look, she actually picked up the bread from the ground. She's not planning to keep eating it, is she?"
"I heard Ivy is dirt poor. Maybe she really is going to eat that disgusting bread!"
"Hahaha, trash people can only pick up trash to eat."
The mocking voices grew more piercing. Angela stood trembling on the side, completely at a loss for what to do.
Ivy looked at the bread in her hand, then suddenly lunged forward the next second. Her left hand grabbed Jane's head, and her right hand shoved the bread directly into her mouth.
"Ah! Ivy, you—"
Before she could finish speaking, the bread blocked her words. Ivy's hands clamped Jane's jaw shut with such force that she couldn't resist. Only when Jane had to swallow the bread due to lack of oxygen did Ivy let go.After eating the dirty bread, Jane dry-heaved. Her eyes turned red with anger as she yelled at Ivy, "Ivy, you bitch, I'm going to kill you! You made me eat that garbage."
Ivy snorted coldly. "Only garbage deserves to eat garbage. I'm giving those words right back to you."
The implication was that Jane was the garbage, which made Jane so angry she wanted to hit someone, but she felt Ivy's presence was too intimidating and didn't dare say another word.
"Ivy, are you crazy? Aren't you afraid Jane's family will come after you for doing this?"
"The Lees won't let you off! Ivy."
Ivy pursed her lips, completely ignoring what they said.
"Getting into such an embarrassing situation and still needing to tattle to your family—how pathetic."
"You!!!"
Jane was furious, but none of the watching students spoke up. Jane usually bullied people too much at school, and many had long been fed up with her, but they didn't dare speak up because of the Lees' power.
Now that Ivy had done what everyone wanted to do but didn't dare, quite a few people looked at Jane with contempt.
Jane glared at Ivy angrily, but as soon as Ivy's hand moved, she backed away in fear. Ivy sneered, "If you're scared, get lost! I'm going easy on you this time, but if there's a next time, I definitely won't let you off."
"You, Ivy, you just wait!"
Jane pointed her finger at Ivy, then slunk away with her friends, disappearing from the school entrance.
With the matter officially resolved, the watching students also dispersed. Before long, only Ivy and Angela remained at the school gate.
Angela let out a trembling sigh of relief. She said in shock, "Ivy, you, you're so brave, so amazing.
But aren't you afraid Jane will retaliate after what you just did to her?"
"What's there to be afraid of?"
Ivy yawned and continued walking into the school. As she passed by the mirror at the school gate, she saw the scar on her face.
Blood Dove was someone who cared a lot about appearance. Letting a scar linger wasn't her style. After a lazy weekend breakfast, Ivy headed to a research center.
The place was short on funds and rented out office space—perfect, since she needed somewhere to develop scar-removal ingredients.
Unfortunately, as soon as she arrived downstairs at the research institute, she was told that renting an office cost three thousand dollars a day, ninety thousand dollors a month.
This amount meant nothing to the former Blood Dove, but for the current Ivy, it was an unthinkable sum.
No, she had to figure out a way to make some money.
Relying on the living expenses Elizabeth gave her each month, she'd starve to death in less than two days, let alone set up a research lab.
After casually buying a lollipop from a street vendor, Ivy was about to take a shortcut back to the Cooper family villa. Just as she turned into an alley, a speeding motorcycle came racing toward her from the distance.
Suddenly, the rider's body swayed, and half a meter away from Ivy, they flipped sideways off the bike and fell, then hit the ground hard, while the motorcycle flew off to the side.
The person on the ground wore a black leather jacket, with what appeared to be a gunshot wound in their abdomen that kept bleeding. Their lips were pale, clearly very weak.
The air was thick with the smell of blood. Ivy raised an eyebrow slightly, walked forward without much hesitation, and crouched down.
Just as she reached out to check on the injured person's condition, the person on the ground suddenly opened their eyes and warned viciously, "Get away! Who are you? Are you with them?!"
Ivy didn't answer. She glanced at the wound and said, "If you don't get treatment soon..."
Before she could finish, the person on the ground quickly reached into their jacket, then pulled out a pitch-black handgun and pressed it against Ivy's forehead.
"Cut the crap! Since you're one of them, I'll kill you!"
Then, they quickly pulled the trigger.
