CHAPTER 7

Avery

I felt someone yank my hand out of Cole's grip and I couldn't be more grateful for the intervention. I raised my head to look at the person and I couldn't help the flutter in my heart.

It was Roman, he was looking more dashing, despite the way his tie was loosened and his hair fell over his forehead, softening the lines of his face.

The faint lines at the corner of his eyes only sharpened the authority he had and the effortless charm that came with being older and undeniably in control.

"Let her go, Cole,People are watching," Roman said, quietly his voice steady as his hands closed around my wrist.

"I don't give a damn, Uncle Roman. She has to go follow me and undo the misunderstanding she caused between Violet and me," he said through clenched teeth, anger vibrating in his voice.

"Don't let me repeat myself again," Roman said, his gaze and tone icy.

"Uncle Roman!" Cole yelled in frustration, brushing his hand through his hair.

Roman didn't look at him twice as he pulled me by the hand, I could feel the intense gaze that followed us as he led me into the elevator.

In the elevator, Roman's hand was buried in his pocket as he stood tall, facing front. I rested my back against the elevator wall as the rapid beat of my heart slowed, relief washing over me. My heart warmed at the way he stepped in for me, I would have been dragged away by that asshole if it weren't for him. He had done a lot for me these past few days making me feel ashamed about what I had in mind to do.

I stared at his back, his neck-length hair that was styled in a V-shape behind, his broad and square shoulders that looked like they went through a lot of exercise to get to where they were.

"Aren't you going to come out?" Roman said, his voice calm, yet cold enough to send a shiver down my spine.

I stepped out of the elevator, following him from behind as he led the way. We passed lots of offices until he stopped in front of an office which I assumed was his. The glass door opened on its own accord while we entered it.

My gaze swept over the large and well polished office then back to Roman whose cold blue eyes stared back at me. He settled on the couch, sitting with his legs wide open. My eyes dropped to the way he spread out his legs, making my mind flash to that night at the bar but I waved it away quickly.

"Why are you here? I thought you have been relieved from work," he said coolly, faint surprise flickering across his face

My eyes widened in surprise. How did he know? but then I remembered that he was the CEO himself so he must have been aware.

I paused my lips, not knowing where to start from. "I need your help, Mr Roman," I said, swallowing my poor pride. "Please."

His brows furrowed, his gaze more fixated on me as though he was trying to read every unspoken thought etched across my face.

"I want to appreciate you for helping me the other day..." I said, my voice trailing off as I didn't know how to bring up the main matter.

Roman's gaze flickered as he glanced at his gold wristwatch, "If you don't have any other thing to say, I would like to go back to work," he said, standing up to his feet then walking to his desk.

'Oh no, I have to do something, this is my only chance,' I said in my thoughts.

I followed behind with the aim of holding him back from going and hearing me out, "Mr Roman..." I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

He turned back swiftly, making me collide against his chest and fall, but before my back could hit the ground, his hands went around me, steadying me from falling. "Are you always this clumsy?" He said.

Everything seemed to stand still, my heart pounding violently in my chest as our eyes locked, his hair fell over his forehead, shadowing his eyes, but I could feel the intensity of his gaze as it traced my face. His lips pressed together, jaw tightening and when his eyes dropped to my lips, the air between us thickened, heavy with everything neither of us was saying.

"What do you want?" Roman asked, restraint lacing his cold voice as his breath fanned my face.

Heat crept to my cheeks as he caged me with his legs. My head was messy enough from the closeness and the right words fled my lips and the only thing I could think about was how I would have a taste of his lips.

What the fuck, Avery! Tell him about your sick brother that needs surgery immediately and that you were sacked without a proper reason.

"You,"I breathed softly, the word slipping from my lips, contrasting with what I had in mind.

Roman's eyes flickered with something lit, like something burning in their depth. My body seemed to work on its own as I tilted into him, sliding my leg up his thigh.

A gasp escaped his parted lips as my knee grazed his crotch, he stiffened, jaw locked,"What are you doing?" He asked, holding himself back

"I'm only giving you an answer to your question," I said,my voice holding on some boldness I didn't think it had.

He leaned into me more until there was no space left between us, "You are dangerous,"he said, his finger lifting my jaw slightly when I suddenly became shy by how big and manly he towered over me.

I didn't realize how bad my fantasy had taken over me when I responded, I guessed being a virgin had only concealed the sexual fire in me, so much that I didn't believe I could spew such dirty words, "Not dangerous enough for you to resist," I said, biting my bottom lip softly.

"Fuck!" Roman groaned, his head falling back then placed them on mine while I slid my leg higher, pressing against his hard bulge.

The subtle groan from him made my nipples hardened, almost peeking out of my lacy bra.

"Do you even know what you are getting yourself into, little girl?" he said, leaning in, his breath fanning my neck.

"I wouldn't be here if I don't... Daddy," I muttered, my breath hitching as I just played out one of the scenes I had read from my favorite dark romance novel.

Virgins have sexual urges and one of the ways I had relieved myself from these urges was by reading romance novels, fantasizing about being touched until I got a release. I hadn't literally touched myself and when I did, I always craved more.

Something sparked in his eyes as his hand held my waist, gripping it tightly, "I want to hear you call me that again," he said,he murmured, his voice low and edged with hunger.

My tongue couldn't form the word as my boldness was replaced with fear. If I kept pushing, he wouldn't resist and claim me, but then the anticipation of how his lips would be on mine and other parts of my body won.

"Daddy," I whispered, my voice barely above a whisper.

His breath hitched, showing that I had crossed the line he wanted me to. As if he couldn't wait any longer, he crashed his lips on mine, sucking my lips, our saliva mixing together while he grabbed my two hands above my head, his other hand was loosening his tie.

I tried kissing him back but I couldn't match his pace, it was as if he had been keeping it all pent up until now. My breath hitched as he tied my hands with the tie without breaking the kiss.

A low moan tore through his throat as he nibbled on my lower lip, the vibration hitting my body as my wetness pooled in my underwear. I clasped my legs together as my core pulsated as his bulge hit my thigh.

Roman held my hands against the wall while he tilted his head and nestled in the curve of my neck, leaving a wet trail of kisses along my collarbone down to my cleavage.

His other hand raised my gown slightly, letting the cold air from the air conditioner hit my thighs. That was when it occurred to me that we were about to do it in his office. What if someone barged into us?

Roman's lips curled into a knowing but teasing smirk as his hand moved higher until it got to my pants strap.

"Wait!"I said, holding his hand to stop him from removing my pants.

His eyes narrowed dangerously, just like they showed that night at the club, "Getting cold feet, little girl," he asked, his other hand tracing the curve of my jaw.

The way he called me, his little girl, felt so warm, making me feel that I was a child that wanted to be pampered and not be treated like trash. It made me feel seen and special.

"Someone might see us," I muttered, tilting my head to the glass door.

His lips curled into a small smile, "it's tinted," he replied, bending his knees slowly until they hit the ground.

I stared at him wondering what he was about to do and to my surprise, he did what no man had ever attempted on me before.
