Chapter 3

Alpha Jack casually said, “I just remembered there’s a document upstairs.”

The moment he left, I quickly grabbed the communicator on the dining table—it was his personal terminal, usually locked behind Alpha-level security. But I entered Claire’s birthday. Those six digits—I had seen them so many times: on fridge labels, clothing tags inside the wardrobe, even on a sticky note beside the bed.

With a soft beep, the screen unlocked. A high-resolution wallpaper appeared—Alpha Jack had his arms around Claire, his fangs pressed to her neck. He looked relaxed, at ease. His wolf nature hadn’t fully receded.

My fingertips trembled slightly, but I tapped into the chat app.

The group chat was called [Imperial Bloodline α Hunting Grounds], a private Alpha-only channel Jack shared with his fellow Alphas.

The screen instantly flooded with images—photos of me, unconscious, exposed, moved into various positions. Claire had even added filters, whitening and brightening my skin to make it more “appealing.”

“Alpha Jack is brutal. Sharing his own Luna?”

“Eight months pregnant Luna? Bet the scent’s stronger, thicker. Have you tried it yet?”

“Claire is a genius. These poses are too seductive. Your Luna was made for this.”

My throat clenched. Bile rose. Nausea churned in my stomach. Then, from the depth of my soul, a low growl surged:

[They see you as a prize. A warm womb. A living toy. And you’re still standing here, trembling like prey?]

“Cathy...” I whispered in my mind.

[Don’t whisper. Roar. Rip. You saw what they did. You watched them turn your body into their entertainment. Where’s your fury, Leyna? Where are your fangs?]

“I… I’m trying to stay calm.”

[Calm? For who? The bastard who drugged you and called you fat in front of his fated mate? Or for those Alphas who passed around your humiliation like porn?]

Just then, Alpha Jack returned.

“Hey,” he said gently, draping a blanket over my shoulders. “Your eyes are red. What’s wrong?”

“The weather’s getting colder. And you’re pregnant. Don’t catch a chill.”

He didn’t seem to notice that the communicator screen was still lit—or maybe he simply didn’t care.

“Tonight is Claire’s birthday. I’m hosting a small gathering at home. A few friends are coming. Make sure you dress properly—don’t let them think I married a shabby Luna.”

I said softly, “I’m not feeling well today. I’d rather not attend.”

He gave a sharp laugh. “Using pregnancy again to control me? I canceled my Alpha Council work for you. What else do you want?”

In the end, he still held the party for Claire.

That night, guests arrived one by one. The music was low, the laughter constant.

I looked in the mirror and realized—I was wearing a red dress. The exact same one Claire was wearing.

“Leyna! We’re matching!” Claire said excitedly, linking her arm through mine. “We’re totally in sync~”

“You wear it better, Claire,” Alpha Jack said without hesitation. “Leyna’s gotten so fat—she looks like a Luna in heat. You’re so much more graceful.”

“Alpha Jack, you’re so biased.” Alpha Zane walked over, suddenly taking my hand. He slowly traced my palm with his thumb, voice low. “But I like the way Leyna is now. You probably don’t know this, but a Luna in pregnancy—she gives off the sweetest scent.”

I tried to pull my hand back, but he held on tighter. He raised his brow slightly, as if teasing.

“Nice texture. Alpha Jack, you sure you want to keep her all to yourself?”

I turned toward Alpha Jack, silently pleading with my eyes.

He glanced at me, cold and detached. “Being complimented by Alpha Zane is an honor. Don’t be ungrateful.”

“Alpha Jack, I’m your mate.”
