Chapter 3
A deep voice echoed throughout the entrance of Snow Mountain. Some students in the vicinity had already noticed something unusual earlier, and now, upon hearing the voice, they all turned to look.
But when they realized that the voice belonged to Ward Jimmy, everyone was stunned.
Isn’t that worthless scumbag again?
How can they be so arrogant?
“Get lost, go away. I’ll leave.”
That roar was like an imperial edict. Alice Louise couldn’t care less about the strange looks around her. She simply rolled and crawled her way away from there. She was truly terrified—the terrifying beast was far too powerful for her to face.
That monstrous creature, like some divine being from the heavens, left a shadow on him that would never fade.
Watching this scene, all the students in the vicinity were stunned.
Although Alice Louise was only at the Second Level of the Beginner rank, there’s no way she’d be scared by a worthless person who doesn’t even have any skills.
This is completely unheard of!
Staring in the direction Alice Louise had fled, the purple-black glow in Ward Jimmy’s eyes dimmed, while his body grew increasingly hot.
“Let’s go.”
Ward Jimmy spoke softly to Vanny Jimmy, trying to endure the burning sensation in his body. Then, under the astonished gazes of the students, he strode away from the mountain gate.
In less than half a moment, Ward Jimmy could no longer endure the scorching heat. With a painful grunt, he lost consciousness.
“Young master, young master. Please don’t scare me.”
Vanny Jimmy looked at Ward Jimmy with great pity in her heart. Her little hands tightly held Ward Jimmy’s palms.
In a daze, Ward Jimmy also seemed to be in the very same world that Alice Louise had just been in.
Looking around at the scene that seemed like the beginning of a new era, and staring at those terrifying beasts, Ward Jimmy didn’t feel the same fear as Alice Louise. Instead, he felt a strange sense of familiarity.
Suddenly, the giant beast, which had been crawling on the ground, stood up.
The giant beast that was crawling on the ground now stood tall, reaching skyward. And when it stood fully upright, it had long since broken through the clouds.
Magma boiled and roiled, thunder rumbled, the earth cracked apart. As the giant beast swung its ten flaming tails, the entire world trembled with each movement.
The scene before Ward Jimmy filled him with utter terror. He had heard before that certain monstrous creatures were accompanied by strange phenomena when they appeared. But something like what was happening now? Perhaps only the gods in the heavens could create such things.
"I am an ancient evil deity, a high-ranking elf demon!"
At that very moment, a hoarse voice, like that of a broken gong, echoed through the land.
As the sound rang out, Ward Jimmy felt a severe headache. It seemed like something had entered his mind—a memory.
This memory flooded Ward Jimmy’s mind like a rushing stream. The intense pain caused his entire body to convulse.
After what felt like an eternity, the pain began to subside. By then, Ward Jimmy was drenched in sweat. His hands were also bleeding from gripping things too tightly.
Watching Ward Jimmy wake up, Vanny Jimmy stopped crying and smiled. She rushed into Ward Jimmy’s arms, sobbing, “Young master, Vanny Jimmy thought you were…”
Gently stroking Vanny Jimmy’s little head, Ward Jimmy stood up straight, a smile appearing on his lips.
He finally understood what Alice Louise had been afraid of just now.
It was the purplish-black flames within his energy core.
To be precise, that should be the Eternal Evil God, the heart of the High Elf Demon!
Now, the heart of the High Elf Demonic Beast has completely merged with him. The memories that just entered his mind were actually fragments of the High Elf Demonic Beast’s soul.
The High Elves, the Heavenly Demons, were the kings of all beasts since ancient times. With their four horns, they ruled the world; the High Elves dominated the cosmos!
And it isn’t only the king of all beasts since ancient times, but also a fearsome deity that reaches the heavens!
But alas, he wasn’t a deity after all, and didn’t possess such a long lifespan. So, before his demise, he hid the heart containing a fragment of his soul in Mount Bennevis.
I never expected that, through a series of coincidences, Ward Jimmy would end up getting it.
“Truly, heaven hasn’t abandoned me!”
Ward Jimmy’s eyes sparkled with intensity. He took several deep breaths, trying to suppress the turmoil in his heart and forcing himself to stay calm.
However, his expression couldn’t hide his excitement.
Because just now, he actually sensed the fluctuations of magical energy in the surroundings.
This means that his energy core has been repaired, and his skills have also been restored. It’s just a shame that his magical power at the peak of the beginner level has been lost.
“My Greenblade Bird ability is finally back.”
Just as Ward Jimmy was about to let out a long cry, he suddenly froze!
“What’s going on?”
Ward Jimmy was stunned. The spiritual energy of his Greenblade Bird should have been emerald green. But now, the spiritual energy emanating from his body was a deep purple-black color.
Since he hadn’t reached the first level of the beginner stage, he was still unable to use any skills. However, Ward Jimmy could sense that the sharp energy once belonging to the Greenblade Swordbird was no longer present within him. In its place was an aura filled with endless vicissitudes, like the depths of a prison.
“Could it be that my Greenblade Swordbird ability hasn’t recovered?” Ward Jimmy wondered. But then he thought again: that didn’t make sense. He could sense the changes in magic energy now, which meant he could absorb it and begin practicing. In other words, the ability to store magic energy within the energy core was still intact.
“Strange.”
Although Ward Jimmy guessed that all this might be related to the heart of the high elf demon, he couldn’t figure out the reason after much thought.
“Who cares? Once I reach the first level of the beginner rank and can use skills, I’ll know what’s actually inside my energy core.”
Ward Jimmy smiled sadly, then took Vanny Jimmy straight to the utility room.
The crew responsible for handling various chores at Snow Mountain Pass usually numbered just over thirty people. When Ward and Jimmy arrived, they found that there were merely a dozen or so simple wooden huts there. Around the huts, clothes were hung to dry, along with various other miscellaneous items.
Finally, after searching throughout the entire servant quarters, the two found an uninhabited wooden hut in a corner.
The wooden hut wasn’t very large. Inside, there was nothing but a wooden bed. It seemed barely large enough for two people to live in.
From the outside, it seemed like this wooden house was quite old. There were also traces of mud and dirt on the doors and windows, likely from rainwater. But these traces were quickly removed with Vanny Jimmy’s rag. Soon, the entire wooden house became clean and bright again.
