Chapter 6
Seeing that the sect leader had no objections, Angelo Churchill felt relieved. He had been worried that the sect leader might favor someone who had once been a genius. It seemed that even those who were once exceptionally talented and revered by everyone would be ignored by their former masters once they fell from grace.
Angelo Churchill smirked and said to the sect leader that he had found his grandson, Ryan Churchill.
Ryan Churchill has a good-looking face. Although his talent isn’t as great as Ward Jimmy’s, he’s still among the top students at Snowden Academy. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been admitted to the experimental class.
These two reasons allowed him to have many romantic relationships in the experimental class, and he was very happy.
When Angelo Churchill knocked on Ryan Churchill’s door, Ryan was enjoying the delicious fruit that his junior sister had brought him. Upon seeing that it was Angelo Churchill, Ryan quickly pushed his sister aside and knelt down before Angelo Churchill.
“Professor, what brings you here?”
It’s forbidden to bring relatives or acquaintances into Snowden Gate. This is a rule set by the gatekeeper, and even Professor Angelo Churchill must abide by it.
“Come and meet the seniors who attended Snowden Gate back then.”
Angelo Churchill snorted. He had seen Ryan Churchill’s relaxed demeanor just now.
Ryan Churchill immediately became nervous when he heard Angelo Churchill’s tone was off. Could it be that the professors knew about how he had undermined Ward Jimmy’s position? But that didn’t make sense either. If the professors knew, why would they have sent his grandfather to find him?
“The student is stupid and doesn’t understand what the professor means…”
“That worthless Ward Jimmy probably has a dual ability.”
Angelo Churchill’s words made Ryan Churchill’s pupils constrict. Twin abilities weren’t something to be spoken of lightly. That Ward Jimmy… how could that be possible!
“So, what the professors mean is, they want Ward Jimmy to return to the experimental class?” Ryan Churchill voiced the worst-case scenario.
“Hmph.”
Angelo Churchill scoffed, simply snorting in disdain. The psychic pressure he released was enough to make Ryan Churchill unable to breathe.
“The twin skills of the abandoned foundation are nothing but worthless trash. Things aren’t peaceful in Taoshan these days. I think we should let Ward Jimmy go to Taoshan and clean things up there!”
Upon hearing this, Ryan Churchill felt much more relieved. He understood what Angelo Churchill meant. By “useless,” he meant someone who could be manipulated at will, especially within Snowden’s circle.
“The student understands.”
Angelo Churchill nodded and then walked away, swinging his sleeves.
Without the bald giant’s “supervision,” the mess hall became much quieter. But for Ward Jimmy himself, it didn’t seem like that at all.
Many laborers heard about how Ward Jimmy knocked out that bald guy with a single punch. They all came to him, trying to get on his good side.
“I’ve already said not to come looking for the young master!”
Vanny Jimmy stood alone at the door to Ward Jimmy’s room. She had seen too many such scenes in the clan’s household before, and she truly despised those who tried to curry favor with those who were more powerful.
“Young master? Who do you think you are to call someone ‘young master’?” A male worker stepped forward, spat on Ward Jimmy’s door, and said, “Thinking you’re some young master just because you’ve entered the Snowden family? You’re nothing but a worthless scumbag who does menial chores!”
This male worker also heard early in the morning that the newcomer had beaten the foreman. He came over to “make friends” with him. But Ward Jimmy was too aloof. From morning until now, Ward Jimmy hadn’t even come out to meet anyone. This made the worker annoyed and frustrated.
“You’re not allowed to speak to the young master like that!”
Vanny Jimmy puffed out her cheeks, stared at the male worker with her round eyes, and slapped him across the face.
From the day Ward Jimmy protected her, she swore in her heart that she would never let anyone insult the young master!
The male worker seemed stunned. He took a moment to recover his senses before frowning and raising his fist to swing at Vanny Jimmy.
“Let you, you bitch, hit me!”
Just as the heavy fist was about to hit Vanny Jimmy, it was gently blocked by a hand. Looking up, Ward Jimmy stood behind Vanny Jimmy, his hand preventing the man’s fist from hitting her.
“I’m sorry, but I really don’t like it when people lay a hand on my family members. If you have any issues, come at me instead.”
Ward Jimmy wore a harmless smile, but his spiritual energy was quietly gathering in his palms. It was Vanny Jimmy who had started this fight first. So, Ward Jimmy gave the man a chance. But if the man insisted on avenging the slap by attacking Vanny Jimmy, then Ward Jimmy wouldn’t let him go.
The belligerent male worker trembled with fear the moment he saw Ward Jimmy. He could only speak tough when Ward Jimmy wasn’t around. If it came to actual fighting, he had no chance against Ward Jimmy at all.
“Remember this!” the male worker shouted at Ward Jimmy, then added a few vulgar insults to save face before leaving in a huff.
“Young master, I’m sorry…” Vanny Jimmy knew she had caused trouble for Ward Jimmy. She didn’t dare say much, and could only lower her head pitifully, not daring to look at Ward Jimmy.
Ward Jimmy sighed and placed his hand on the top of Vanny Jimmy’s head, gently stroking it.
“Silly girl, you’re not wrong.”
Vanny Jimmy nodded her head and said nothing else.
The laborers watching the scene from nearby, seeing that the commotion had passed, tried to get closer to Ward Jimmy again. But a loud shout silenced them.
“What are you all doing? Why aren’t you working?”
When the laborers saw that the bald man had returned, they quickly got to work. Only Ward Jimmy and Vanny Jimmy noticed the man following behind the bald man—Ryan Churchill.
Ryan Churchill walked quickly toward Ward Jimmy. His gorgeous brocade robe stood out sharply against the simple surroundings of the servant quarters.
“No matter how beautiful the exterior may be, it can’t hide the ugliness of the heart,” said Vanny Jimmy in a soft voice. She didn’t dare speak too loudly, fearing that it might cause Ward Jimmy more trouble.
“It’s been so long since we last met, my dear senior.”
Ryan Churchill spoke loudly, drawing the attention of everyone in the mess hall.
“Was it okay working in the janitorial department?”
Ward Jimmy’s face turned very ugly. He would never forget which bastard ruined his chances for success and who made him look like an idiot in public, forcing him to work as a servant.
Without a word from Ward Jimmy, Ryan Churchill began talking on his own.
“I heard you beat the supervisor in charge of the chores. I came to see you specially. Truly worthy of being a genius from the former experimental class! Even after having your abilities suppressed, you were still able to defeat the supervisor here.”
For a moment, everyone was in an uproar.
Who would have thought that Ward Jimmy was actually a senior from the experimental class! And his foundation skills were completely ruined!
Ward Jimmy could clearly hear the laborers discussing why he had been “ruined” in such a way. Their guesses were disgusting to the point of making him feel sick.
But then again, who could have imagined that this seemingly respectable and well-dressed junior from the experimental class would turn out to be the one who destroyed his foundation?
“It seems that Senior Churchill has quite a lot of free time lately. It seems he’s confident about passing this year’s experimental class test.”
Ward Jimmy smiled. He had no trouble dealing with the psychic pressure emanating from Ryan Churchill. However, Vanny Jimmy, beside him, found it difficult to breathe under that pressure.
“That’s only natural. I thought I could compete with the senior during the test, but I never expected him to do something like that.”
Ryan Churchill’s words were ambiguous, leading those unaware of the truth to instinctively assume that Ward Jimmy must have done something horrible.
“Yes, it’s a shame that the second-year student put in so much effort.”
Ward Jimmy sneered.
