Chapter 8
Don't worry; I guarantee they'll beg you to come back!
As Belis Klein listened to Alan Yeger's words, a sense of belief welled up within her. Yet upon closer reflection, she dismissed it as merely Alan's attempt at self-consolation—after all, Second Grandfather held absolute authority in the family, and given the current circumstances, how could he possibly beg her to return?
"Alright, I understand. Let's keep it hidden for as long as possible."
Touched to the core, Belice Klein turned her head, quietly wiped the corner of her eye, and walked smilingly to the electric scooter. She gripped the handlebars with a faint blush on her face before turning back and saying,
"Come up quickly; it's time to go home for dinner."
Alan Yegel paused for a moment, then sat down on the back seat of the electric scooter and gently placed his hands around Bethel Klein's waist. Her body stiffened slightly before relaxing, and together they left the Klein family company.
……
……
He Yun is a senior executive at Alberta Real Estate—a company effectively controlled by the Winston family. His role is akin to that of a general manager; he handles virtually all administrative matters, which are then submitted for approval by Andre Winston.
Now, He Yun sat with a frown on his face in a upscale café in Seattle, anxiously awaiting something.
Suddenly, there was a noticeable commotion outside the cafe from a distance. He Yun spotted a young man talking to a security guard nearby, then rode his electric bike outside again to park it.
Alan Yegel parked his electric bike in a somewhat awkward manner—he hadn't expected there to be no designated parking space for them here. With no other choice, he ended up parking it outside under the puzzled looks of passersby.
Hehe, you simpleton—can you really get here by electric bike alone?
From the adjacent Cayenne sedan stepped out a young man dressed in a luxury suit, while a seductively dressed woman beside him burst into laughter.
Xiao Bing, why are you so unwilling to speak? People work hard to earn money—what's wrong with coming here just once to spend it?
The man said this, but his face wore a mocking expression.
That was my mistake.
The woman stuck out her tongue.
Alan Yegel didn't even bother to pay attention to those two self-absorbed individuals; he simply walked past them, leaving both of them looking quite displeased.
As he entered the café and walked inside for a moment, Alan Yeger spotted He Yun and immediately sat down in front of him.
"It's you?!"
As He Yun looked at Alan Yager, his scalp felt slightly numb.
He certainly knew about Andre Winston's assault—he was the one who personally took him to the hospital. And yet, this young man before him turned out to be the very mysterious person who had contacted him?!
What would the Winston family think if they found out that he was having coffee with them?
At this thought, he tilted his head slightly, and a fine sweat appeared on his forehead.
Don't be so scared. As long as you follow me, I guarantee you'll be fine. My client hasn't experienced any issues yet—what's there to fear?
Seeing his tense expression, Alan Yegel couldn't help but smile.
As He Yun observed Alan Yager, who appeared completely unbothered, a thought crossed his mind. He certainly knew Yager's background, but the now destitute Klein family would never risk antagonizing the Winston family over a mere son-in-law. Could there really be some other motive behind this?
Realizing she had already received a deposit of several hundred thousand yuan, He Yun composed herself slightly and asked, "Are you really going to start a company?"
"Could the money you received be fake?"
Alan Yegel looked at him and said sarcastically, then added:
Of course, what I'm asking you to do goes far beyond simply changing jobs. As far as I know, you've worked for the Winston family for so long—you've essentially been treated like a dog there, right?
Alan Yegel abruptly shifted his tone of speech, causing He Yun across from him to frown deeply.
Seeing that the other party remained silent, Alan Yeger smiled and said, "If you work for me, we're merely in an employment relationship—we'll never treat you like a dog."
With that, he picked up his coffee and took a sip, waiting for He Yun's reaction.
What else do you want?
He Yun remained silent for a moment before asking.
All the negative information about Alberta Real Estate Company—and of course, even more if there's additional bad news about the Winston family.
Alan Yegel set down his cup and sneered.
He Yun shot him a shocked look and said, "You're trying to take action against the Winston family all by yourself?!"
All you need to do is tell me whether you can accomplish it; don't ask too many questions.
"Alan Yegel frowned and shook his head," he said.
He Yun's expression turned troubled. He certainly knew what Alan Yager had said—these were all plans he'd meticulously devised over the years to counter the Winston family. But while preparation was one thing, if he actually shared them with others, his reputation in the industry would suffer greatly; taking revenge on his former employer would surely tarnish his standing!
This is quite challenging; I can't place my entire future on you all at once.
He Yun shook his head and said.
To Allen Yegel's unpreparedness, he pulled out a cloth bag from his pocket and slammed it onto the table with a thud.
He Yun frowned, unable to understand what Alan Yeger meant.
Alan Yegel ignored him, casually pulled out a gleaming diamond from inside his pocket, and threw it in front of him.
This is a diamond of exceptional quality—its value is conservatively estimated at over two million. Beyond the salary I mentioned earlier, this amount constitutes your bonus for completing this task. Please consider carefully and call me by tonight; the diamond will be delivered to you immediately.
After finishing his speech, Alan Yegel stood up and walked out, leaving He Yun sitting there completely stunned.
He Yun knew nothing about diamonds, but he was certain that if Alan Yager's claims were true, this diamond was truly priceless!
And it seems Alan Yager's bag is filled with exactly these diamonds—how much could that be worth?!
At this thought, He Yun's face turned pale. He reached out, took a napkin, wiped his sweat, then carefully held the diamond on the table before preparing to leave.
He needs to have it authenticated by someone. If it's genuine, then all reputations can be set aside—such a generous boss is undoubtedly an opportunity for He Yun!
Excitedly approaching the cafe entrance, He Yun noticed that Alan Yeger—the first person to arrive—had been stopped. After a brief moment of hesitation, he gritted his teeth and made his way over.
"You simpleton, how could it come out so quickly?"
The young man blocked Alan Yeger's path and asked with a smile.
“ get out of the way 。”
Alan Yegel frowned and said, "I don't have time to spend with this idiot—Belleth Klein at home is still waiting for me to cook!"
Hey, I'm not going to let you off. What's the problem? Maybe you can't afford the money and want to avoid paying? How about you kneel down and lick my shoes—I'll pay for it!
The man was taken aback for a moment, then burst into laughter filled with anger.
What are you doing?!
He Yun approached with a stern expression.
"Cloud Brother?"
The young man looked at He Yun, his eyes instantly lighting up. With great respect, he called out a greeting and then immediately added,
Brother Yun, I really don't like this simple-minded guy; I'm just saying a few words about him.
"Do you know him?"
Alan Yegel never expected the two to know each other; he looked at He Yun in surprise.
He Yun nodded reluctantly in frustration. Wasn't this guy merely the son of his father's close friend? He'd used his connections to do some business and had bought a second-hand Cayenne this year—yet he'd suddenly become so arrogant.
"Brother Yun, do you... do you know each other?"
What surprised the young man even more than Alan Yegel was that he could never have imagined He Yun would meet someone riding an electric scooter!
"Bang!"
He Yun ignored him, walked up to him with a stern expression, and slapped him squarely in the face.
Young man, this is my way of teaching you a lesson on behalf of your father. Don't act so arrogant just because you have some money!
"What are you doing? How can you hit someone?! Ah?! Why did you hit me?"
Upon seeing this, her companion immediately screamed and rushed forward to scratch He Yun, only to be slapped in the face by a man whose face had turned as red as liver.
"Shut up! Do you even have a say?"
The man exclaimed angrily, realizing he had offended someone he shouldn't have. He quickly composed himself and forced a smile as he looked at Alan Yager.
"I'm sorry, brother—I failed to recognize the importance of this situation. I'm truly sorry."
Alan Yegel gave a funny nod, dismissed the two individuals, and then gave He Yun a approving pat on the shoulder.
I'm waiting for your message.
With that, he left.
Two days later, He Yun joined a new company called Shengru Company.
