Chapter 166

I stopped him with my hand out and caressed him the way that he had been caressing me, running my fingers over every ridge of the muscles in his chest and stomach, down the gentle line that led from his hips to his cock.

I took a pillar of flesh between my fingers and ran my hands across the sensitive rim. I reached behind me, wetting my hand in the sink, then came back, stroking his member and watching it leap in my fingers, thrilled at my touch.

I slowly took long strokes along the skin, and Charles closed his eyes, allowing me to cup his balls while I gave more pressure to his shaft.

He stepped closer, and I spread my legs, bracing my heels on the cabinet hardware. He opened his eyes again and positioned himself between my legs, running his hands across my thighs and admiring the petals of my womanhood.

After a moment of watching in the mirror, he kept his eyes glued to the glass as he shoved himself inside me. I groaned and tipped my head back. My eyes fluttered shut.

From there, what he watched, I only felt: the slow drawing thrusts as he pulled himself all the way out of my opening until just the very tip kissed my lower lips and then the glide back inside.

I let him take his time. I’d had my pleasure once already, and I wanted to make sure that this left exactly the image in his mind that he wanted.

So, I focused on controlling myself and feeling every motion that he watched.

I could tell the moment his excitement grew. Those long, slow thrusts turned into harder, more urgent strokes. With each stroke, his balls slapped against the skin of my body, and his shaft buried itself deep inside.

I reached around behind him with one hand, grabbing his butt and keeping him buried within me. At that movement, the thrusts became fast and desperate, barely pulling out at all before jamming himself back inside, only going far enough to get the friction to push us both over the edge.

“Charles,” I cried out.

And the next time he rammed inside, his cock pulsed deep within me, releasing his load. I climaxed, squeezing my knees around him and keeping our hips locked together as I gasped out my second orgasm.

“That was perfect,” Charles murmured, running his fingers along my cheeks. “And honestly, now I’m thinking we need some mirrors installed in the bedroom, too.”

I poked his pectoral muscle. “Don’t be such a pervert,” I said. “If you ever need to watch again, we can come back in here. But I’m not letting anyone who happens to come back into our bedroom know how much that gets you off.”

He chuckled. “How many people do you think we’re inviting back into our bedroom?” He cocked his head, expression teasing. “And you said I was the pervert.”

I ignored the implication of multiple partners. “On occasion, it might be necessary for a guest to come through this room,” I said. “Let me have at least some modesty, geez.”

By the time we came out for lunch, Theo was already waiting with David in the dining room for us, information on the articles in hand.

“I’m judging by the look on your face that the news isn’t good,” I said to Theo.

He shook his head and shrugged his shoulders at the same time. “It’s not bad,” he said. “It’s just confusing. I had my friend trace those stories just like I said I would, and we can’t find any connection that isn’t Anthony. If somebody else is pulling the strings behind him, they’re doing a good job of covering their tracks. Because, for all intents and purposes, it looks like a legitimate news release from a reporter.”

I started to open my mouth, and he held out his hand. “Everyone in this room knows that it is not a legitimate news story. None of us is suggesting that. I’m just saying that, based on the information, that’s what it looks like from the outside. So, as I said before, it’s going to be up to you to try and figure out the rest of the details. I’m sure if you dig deep enough into Anthony’s past if there’s someone controlling him, you’ll find them. It just won’t be by tracing this particular story.”

Charles squeezed my hand. “I know you can do this. You uncovered way worse.”

“How was it worse?”

He took my shoulders and pressed a kiss on the top of my head. “Because this one affects you and me negatively, but in the end, we’ll come out on top. I know we will. The stuff you’ve uncovered in the past puts the lives of thousands of residents at risk. For example, how many people do you think you helped by exposing the contaminated water?”

He cupped my chin and turned my face up so that he could gaze into my eyes. “I can’t begin to tell you how proud I am of you for the number of people that you’ve helped. But I also know that you’ve honed skills that will make you capable of helping yourself and me.”

He pressed a light kiss to my lips. “I fully trust you to restore the honor of Rafe Media and my family.”

“Did I really do that much damage? I mean, did pictures of me really cost your family that much?”

He sighed and let go of my shoulders, running his hands through his hair in frustration. “It probably would have been worse if we were already a legally married couple or something like that. This just looks like my girlfriend cheating on me, and as an alpha, that’s never a good look. But it’s not completely devastating.”

I thought of our secret engagement and was suddenly glad that we had the foresight not to announce it.

“Where are you going to start your investigation?” David asked. “Maybe Theo and I can help. Only one of us needs to be here with the two of you if you guys are staying here at the apartment.”

I frowned and thought over where I could possibly send them that wouldn’t expose my connections to the dark web. That was where I wanted to start my search because that was where I could follow rumors to hidden truths.

“Actually,” I said, brilliance hitting me like lightning. “I have a perfect job for you guys. I have some contacts that I’d like to trace down and ask about Anthony and his Bellweather empire. But I was going to try and dig in from the bottom, and with your help, we can come at his empire from two sides at the same time. Maybe that would help me narrow down where I’m looking.”

I gave them my most charming smile. “Could one of you go online and compile all of the stories he’s written and all of the news articles about his family? For… I don’t know how far should I go back?”

I looked at Charles, and he shrugged. “He’s been ruining lives, as far as I know, for decades.”

I glanced between David and Theo. “Would you guys mind compiling decades worth of research? That’s going to be a lot from somebody as widely published as Anthony.”

The two of them both nodded. “We’re happy to help. We won’t even need to leave the apartment to do that,” David said. “We’ll get started on it right now. Come and let us know if you need anything else. Or if either of you is planning on leaving. You definitely need bodyguards before you go anywhere now. If, for no other reason, than that will keep the hecklers off of you.”
