Chapter 6 Adrian and Quinn Are Kissing?

On the weekend, Sebastian asked Violet to meet and discuss her job offer.

After their conversation, they went for breakfast together.

Violet sat by the window.

Two waitresses standing to the side were whispering to each other.

Waitress A: "Oh my god, the family at table B16 is so gorgeous - the man is handsome, the woman is beautiful, and even their son is stunning."

Waitress B: "I know, right? I'm so jealous. Her husband is so classy and such a gentleman - he's even cutting the steak for his wife himself."

Waitress A: "Where can I find such a perfect man? Please God, send me one too!"

Hearing this, Violet looked over toward table B16.

Her eyes froze, and then she found it utterly ironic.

The "perfect husband" everyone was praising was actually Adrian.

There he was, carefully cutting steak for Quinn.

Quinn was playing the role of "good wife," gently feeding Theodore juice.

What a loving family of three that everyone envied!

But the thing was, Adrian's actual wife was her - Violet!

Once again, Violet realized she was the only outsider in this family.

Even more ironic, her spoiled son had become a well-behaved boy in front of Quinn.

Sebastian noticed Violet's expression and turned to see Adrian dining in the distance.

"Violet, do you want to switch to another restaurant?" Sebastian asked thoughtfully.

Violet shook her head. "No need, this place is fine."

Her eyes returned to the menu, and she randomly ordered an appetizer with a steak.

Seeing Sebastian's complicated expression, Violet smiled and said, "Don't worry about me. I'm getting divorced anyway - I stopped caring long ago."

Sebastian nodded. "The sooner you leave, the sooner you're free. That guy doesn't deserve you."

After dinner, Adrian and Quinn left the restaurant, each holding one of Theodore's hands.

Violet and Sebastian followed behind them.

The sky had started drizzling at some point.

From a distance, Violet saw Quinn holding Theodore while Adrian held an umbrella, half-embracing Quinn.

The black umbrella tilted completely toward Quinn, and the fine rain gradually soaked Adrian's shoulder.

Violet's lips curved into a bitter smile.

Even though she was determined to divorce, Adrian was the man she had blindly loved for ten whole years. Violet still felt a pang of sourness in her heart, despite herself.

The next day, Violet returned to the company on time to complete the handover with her replacement, Claire.

While rushing to catch the elevator, Violet ran into Adrian and Quinn.

"Sorry, please wait!" Violet called out as she reached the elevator.

The closing doors were pressed open from inside.

When Violet saw who was inside, the smile on her face froze.

It was Adrian and Quinn.

Unfortunately, Quinn was intimately holding Adrian's arm.

The two in the elevator seemed surprised to see Violet.

Quinn called out somewhat awkwardly, "...Adrian."

Adrian's expression was cold. He completely ignored Violet's presence and coldly pressed the close button.

Violet stood in the hallway, watching helplessly as the elevator doors closed, slowly blocking Adrian's cold and arrogant face from view.

Violet took a deep breath, swallowed her bitterness, and returned to the secretary's office feeling somewhat lost.

The entire office was buzzing with excitement as everyone gossiped.

The new secretary, Claire Bennett, pulled Violet into the discussion. "Violet, did you see Mr. Hart's girlfriend? She's so classy and beautiful! No wonder Mr. Hart always seemed so aloof - turns out he's been hiding such a gorgeous woman! Ugh, I had a crush on Mr. Hart, and before I even got a chance to talk to him, I'm already heartbroken. I'm so pitiful."

Violet smiled but didn't respond.

Roman spoke up, "Ms. Mitchell graduated with a PhD from an international university. She's been studying abroad and just returned recently. You all better be smart and know your place - don't carelessly offend our future CEO's wife."

Everyone in the secretary's office agreed with Roman's statement.

Before Violet could say anything, she heard fake flattering voices from outside.

Looking over, several company executives were surrounding Quinn, praising her background, education, and looks.

Quinn was like a star surrounded by admirers, gracefully chatting with the executives.

Adrian stood to the side, watching Quinn with focused and affectionate eyes.

Violet stood in the crowd like an unnamed extra, watching the leading lady Quinn.

Violet stopped overthinking and returned to her desk, busily handing over her organized work to Claire.

She didn't want to stay at Hart Group for even one more second.

That afternoon, Roman asked Violet to bring hot coffee to the CEO.

Every day at 3:30 PM, Adrian would have coffee.

For Adrian's sake, Violet had specially learned how to make coffee.

Adrian quite enjoyed it and had gotten used to it.

"Roman, I finished the handover today. I can leave now," Violet said, refusing.

She didn't want any more contact with Adrian.

Besides, Quinn was still in Adrian's office, keeping him company.

But Roman thought she was being difficult. "The HR notice is for today, and it's not quitting time yet. You're still an employee of Hart Group right now."

Violet couldn't argue back. She turned to find Claire, only to discover Claire had gone out on business.

She bit her lip and went to the break room to make a cup of hot coffee.

Violet carried the coffee to the CEO's office.

She raised her hand to knock, but the office door wasn't closed properly and opened with a push.

Violet hadn't walked in yet - she just stood at the door gap, looking inside.

She looked up and saw Quinn sitting on Adrian's lap.

Quinn was intimately perched on Adrian's thigh, her arms around his neck, eyes seductive, tilting her head up to respond.

Adrian's arm was around Quinn's waist, holding her in his embrace, his eyes full of affection as he lowered his head.

From the angle and position, Adrian and Quinn were caught up in the moment, about to kiss.
