Chapter 6 Find her

Third Person POV

Maelis felt like her soul was taken from her body as her hand slowly laid Dreak’s body on the cold floor. She wants to scream, she wants to cry and sob as loud as she can. But she can’t, she feels like all the tears that want to come out have nowhere to go, and like no voice could escape her mouth. She wants to speak but feels like she suddenly forgets how to.

She uses her hand to push herself to stand up but falls on her feet again. She pressed her eyes closed as she tried with all her might to push herself to stand up.

“I can call someone to get him for you,” Lucien said behind her.

“Thank you,” she said and turned and walked past him.

Lucien couldn't help but feel confused as she watched Maelis walk away. He could feel the sadness in her voice when she was talking to the person that just died, but how could she look indifferent just now? No tears and no screams, no emotions. He looked at the man on the floor as he pulled out his phone and dialed someone.

“Basil, come out at the parking lot on the side. There is a body here. Take care of it.”

"A what? Are you okay?---"

Lucien sighed as he ended the call. He walked towards the man’s body and crouched beside him when he saw a symbol that was freshly carved on his shoulder near his neck. A crescent moon-like symbol is carved on Dreak’s body.

“Boss—” Basil said, coming from behind, looking out of breath with the other men with him.

“Take him to the morgue, make sure that this will be taken care of. Call me when everything is taken care of,” he said as he stood up and walked away.

Maelis felt like she was just a body wandering around without a soul when she reached Richard's clinic. Richard jsut opent he door of his clinic and was about to go out when his eyes landed to Maelis who is standing in front of him.

“What the… are you hurt again? Let's go inside, you look like a mess,” Richard said as he saw Maelis and grabbed her wrist.

“He’s gone,” she almost whispered, making Richard frown.

“I can’t understand you. Who's gone?. Let’s go inside to get you treated,” Richard said, frowning. “Maelis,” he called her.

“Dreak…he...he is...gone,” she uttered and looked at him as if her thoat are closing.

Richard gulped as she stared at her eyes. “W-what? What the hell are you talking about? He's on a mission,” he stuttered.

“He’s dead, they sent him to his death,” she uttered and clenched her jaw. “This…this is where it all begins,” she added, and Richard's eyes immediately filled with worry.

“Maelis, no. I’m…I’m not losing another friend when I just lost one,” he uttered as he grabbed her arms.  “I won’t let that happen, so get inside, and I will think of another way,” he added as a tear escaped his eyes.

“I will hunt them all. I will make sure to let them feel each bullet that I will bury deep inside their body, I will make them for their life,” Maelis said as a tear rolled down her face.

Richard felt fear and pain as he watched Maelis's emotionless face as she turned her back on him.

“Maelis,” he called for her, which made her stop on her path. “I’ll be with you every step, but are you sure about this? you know that this is a risk that will put your life in danger than it alreayd it,” he uttered as his eyes stared at her in pain.

“Make sure that you have all the medicine that could save a person on the brink of death,” she said, and looked at him, “because once I catch all of them, every time I put them on the edge of death, you must save them. They will suffer until they are the ones to pray for death.”

Lucien enters a dark hall, and there is not a single noise. Only his footsteps could be heard as he walked deeper into the dungeon hall. The place is full of people, but none of them could be heard. The only thing there is in this place is suffocating silence.

“Boss? ”A voice from behind Lucien said. “We found them, boss, but, just like what you asked, we didn’t do anything to them. They are already in the cell,” the man added.

“Good,” Lucien said. “Make place for them here,” he said, and the man nodded and quickly moved as Lucien walked away and went inside a room.

Lucien is sitting on a swivel chair when a pair of knocks is heard on his door before it opens.

“You called for me? ” A man in a black hoodie said, holding a laptop behind.

“I want you to find everything that you need to know about a person,” Lucien said, which made the man frown as he sat down on another chair.

“Can’t you do it yourself? I mean, this is new. You're not being able to find someone,” the man said.

“Yrozz, this is a job. I’m giving you a job, are you going to take it or not? ”Lucien said that made the man laugh.

“Of course, I will take it, I like money,” Yrozz said. “So, who is this son of a bitch? Do you know the name? ” he said as he opened his laptop and placed it on the coffee table.

“It’s a woman,” Lucien said, which made Yrozz's eyes widen.

“Pardon? A what? Are you in a delirious state right now?” He asks in disbelief.

“5 million,” Lucien said with his back facing him.

“5 million? For a woman? Am I hearing this right? Who are you?” Yrozz said as his mouth fell open in shock, looking at him with disbelief.

“Martel Doupunt, find her and give me everything I need to know about her,” Lucien said as he clenched something inside his fist. “I need her.”
