Blend in

Erin's POV:

I already masked my scent on my way here. I saw a line of girls standing infront of the door . A guy who is about 6 feet tall is asking some questions and then send some girls and some out.

I decided to stand in the line not knowing where it leads to.

The girls who got rejected , walks away sadly. Hopefully , I get selected. This is my only chance to enter the mansion. I prayed moon goddess to help me. With each passing minute , I started to get nervous .When it's my turn to go, I took a minute to calm myself so that my heart don't start to beat faster. Me being half vampire , I can hold my heart beat for a while and blend among them." Name" the guy asked me while eyeing me from head to toe.

" Cara " I said while looking at him intrusively. This guy is giving me strange vibes. I couldn't tell whether he's good or bad.He smiles at me " go inside and wait in the lobby. "

" What? That's it. " I asked him unbelievably . He said yes.

As I was walking past him, " We have been waiting for a long time." He said with a smile. I got selected.  I am glad I made it through the first hurdle. I am inside the mansion. But I got selected for what work.

As I walked inside, I saw a group of girls are talking among themselves. They looked at me strangely. I tried to talk with them.But it's pure awkward.

" May I have your attention,please?" The same guy who sent us in called us out." I am Henry. I am the manager of this mansion. You all report to me . " He said with authority. His eyes never leaving mine." You five , go and meet Valerie in the garden. From now on , you work in the garden. After that, she will show you to the quarters outside the mansion where you all stay. " He send away the first set of girls ." You the remaining girls will work in the mansion. " He then allocated jobs to everyone." Now Carla, come with me" he said and started to walk . I followed him and he stopped outside the big door.He opened the door with the key from his wallet.

" This is King Alfonso's office. Your job is to keep this room clean . You are to look after what the king needs. " He said causing me looking at him in shock.

" What? You're the most beautiful girl I see today and the king wants the best looking girls. " He said flatly." Oh . Ok." I replied. I really hope I find Marcia soon and escape from here with her." Where is the king?" I asked Henry after I finish cleaning the office room. He has a personal computer and I tried to log in but couldn't find the password. I can't even hack into the system as it is highly protected. Zara can help me.

" He is away for a week. He will back in four days. " Henry replied as we walked together.

" Carla , you are a hybrid right?" He asked me out of nowhere. I looked at him in shock , trying to find the right words to say.

" How do you know?" I asked dejectedly as he seems harmless ." I knew because I am also a hybrid like you. " He said causing me to look at him in shock. If so, how did he survive here till now?" I get what you're thinking. I am here because of the vampire king. He is my uncle. He is my mom's brother. Also he keeps me safe for his own benefits. I am considered an abdomination in both the werewolf and vampire community. He hide my identity from the world so that one day if war brokers out again, he can make me fight against werewolves and no werewolves can beat me. Only werewolves of royal lineage can defeat and kill me. " He explained to me." Does it mean I am safe here?" I asked him." No. Don't tell anyone that you're a hybrid at all. You will be in grave danger as the king is looking for one such girl to mate. " He said causing me gasp." What? Why?" I asked him as a shiver went through my spine.

" Here always have this with you until you stay here." He gave a herb which oddly looks familiar. It's Osorio root. It blends the smell of the hybrid with the air and noone can suspect anything.

" It's not safe to talk more about this. I am glad to meet someone like me. " With that he walks away and vanished the next moment." Looks like I landed myself a friend . I need to find Marcia soon and leave from there. This place is huge. " I sighed as I went to find out my accomodation. After having dinner, We all went back to our respective rooms. I swear I heard someone screaming for help. It was ver mild but I undoubtedly heard it.I think it's Marcia. Is she being tortured or simply calling out for help?

I followed the direction of where the sound came and it lead me to the garden. I looked around but couldn't find anyone .I tried looking for the direction where the sound came from but I couldn't locate it as the sound stopped after the weird sound . All of a sudden, a hand was placed on my shoulder and I screamed in fear.

Nick's POV:

I was too stunned to react as Alfonso smiled evily at me.

" what ? Surprised  to see me in your AI lenses. " he mocked me.

" as expected of the great crook . You know  it right from the beginning  . Didn't you?" I asked him.

" yes. I have been  waiting for her  all my life. Elixir of immortality is within my grasp. "

He then came a bit close.

" she's  really beautiful.  Too bad , you're not going to have her in this life. But don't  worry,  I will have her so that I  can see you in misery.

This is going to be fun . I need her .You want her but couldn't.  She thinks you don't want her . She want to save Maria. What a game, it's going to be.

I am very excited for this cat and mouse game.

I removed  my AI glasses  and screamed in frustration.

I need to do something  about Marcia  and Erin. I have to rescue them .
