Thinking about him

Erin's POV:

It's been a week since I came here. But I couldn't sneak into the mansion as the vampires are literally everywhere around the mansion. Though Henry promised me a tour around the mansion , he couldn't do it as he went away the very next day for some serious business as Valorie told us.He still haven't come back and the weird king came back . I haven't seen him till now as he always stays in his room.

The workers who are working here for decades says it's strange behaviour of him.At first , I thought maybe he is sick. That's why he is resting there. But no. He is seen healthy when he walks in the balcony of his room. It looks like he is hiding something in there. Or someone in particular. That's when it strike my mind . It might be Marcia. Is he holding her hostage in his very room? That's so sick of him.I decided to try and sneak into his room when he gets away. But he didn't get away for more than an hour. It's highly impossible for me to get there as he didn't allow anyone except Henry.

While I was pondering about what to do, I heard a lot of commotion coming from the front of the entrance. I went there to check what the buzz was about .What I saw shook me to the core. Henry was badly injured and his clothes are torn.

" Henry" I called him and rushed towards him. The guards then came and picked him up . They carried him to his room.I followed them and went along with them. I took the first aid box on the way . When we ended up in his room, I asked the guards to leave . They hesitated but left when Henry gave them the nod.

" What happened to you?" I asked him worried while cleaning his wounds." I had a big fight with five werewolves and was outnumbered. They took me to their place and then you know." He just shrugged it off." Wha how did you escape? " I asked him intrigue by his narration." That's for another time. I need to rest. It looks like someone is missing me badly" he asked with the glint of mischief in his eyes. He looks really uncomfortable and about to faint." You're beaten which medicine will cure you ?" I asked him as he looked at me." My blood. Your blood . Hybrid blood can do wonders. Haven't you tried it before?" He asked me confusingly. Oh, wow! I didn't know that.  I was about to slit my wrist when I heard the guard came in .

" King send you this . He told that if you drink this, you will be fine. " He handed Henry a glass of red liquid causing Henry's eyes lit up.Is that blood? Yuck! Though I am a half vampire, the smell of blood disgust me. I never had the urge to suck blood ever. But contrarily Henry seems to be craving for it.

Henry took it from the guard and drank all of it in a matter of seconds. His elongated teeth is visibly clearly and his teeth clatters before he took control of his body.He is back to normal but still has difficulty in controlling his urge for blood. The guard ran away seeing him.

" Carla, for your own safety leave from here. Your blood is making me go insane. " why are you craving it when I absolutely hate it?" I asked him as he looked at me dumbfolded." I got addicted to King's blood after he forced me to drink his blood when I got real sick a century ago. After that he forecfully gave me his blood every six months as he thinks his blood in my body will keep  me as his loyal servant forever." He spat angrily.

" Do you despise him?" I asked him as mild as I can." Yes. I hate him. He puts something in his blood everyone he gave me. That substance is what makes me craving for blood. Carla, as much as I like to talk with you, I am loosing my senses . So, please leave and make sure to let the guards to lock my door securely." He said and pushed me to the door. While I was walking back, I gave it a thought to tell Henry about Marcia and get his help.Since he hates vampire king so much, he will definitely help me .Weeks passed with literally no improvement. Henry is recovering well but he is hardly seen. He is avoiding me.

Sometimes I couldn't help but think about my so called mate.He's an alpha of an werewolf pack. Nick . That's his name as that's what a guy called him.I wonder what he is doing now. He doesn't want me but at the same time he didn't wait for me to reject him nor did he reject me.My wolf howls in pain and sorrow by being hated by her own mate who is supposed to love her.My wolf Selene completely shut me off after that incident. She seldom asks for Marcia whereabouts.

What's strange is that I didn't miss much my boyfriend of two years who humiliated me and cheated on me. All I could feel was numbness about him. I was hurt that day but it got worse when my mate showed up.Even after him being rude to me, all I could think off was him. His eyes that held sorrow despite his actions towards me.I wonder if he is looking for me now that I disappeared and he still haven't rejected me yet.

Maybe he already has a lover .I need to know more about myself . I mean being a hybrid of both versions, my smelling sense is pretty high. I can run faster than werewolves but not vampires. It's a setback in here . If I did manage to escape Marcia from here, I will be glad and face any consequences knowing that she's safe. She's all I have and I need to make sure of her survival for our werewolf community sake.I wish she reconsider her stance of being with elders who are useless and spineless and stood for the werewolf community.Werewolves deserve a better leadership than these elders.

The vampires are clearly violating the rules and norms by enslaving werewolves but still the elders turn a blind eye to their plights.I also heard that Alpha king is planning on overthrowing the elders and take control of everything to himself. I don't know what his intentions are but if it's good , then maybe I will support him and urge Marcia to aide him as well. I took the pendant Zara gave me and looked at it. It was a two crescent shaped beautifully engraved pendant with letters EN.

" So , what are you planning in this little head of yours, Carla ? Or should I call you by your real name Erin Montana?" A voice came behind me causing me to frooze on the stone bench I sat.
