Chapter 5 Chapter Five

Luca.

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

She shouldn’t have caught me. I had barely been careful for three days. Careful slipping into her room. Careful watching her sleep with that stupid doll I got her years back.

But this morning, seeing her outside that fucking gorgeous—It messed with my head. Sunlight traced every inch of her smooth skin and I lost control. I kept watching her until she turned.

Now she’s pressed to me, her eyes wide, chest rising fast, her plump lips parted. Just exactly as I remembered them. I wanted those lips wrapped around my cock.

She looked shocked. Too innocent. But she wasn’t innocent. She’s a snake.

She whispered. “Luca….”

I dropped my hand immediately, stepping away from her. I yanked my hood down low, hiding my expressions from her, hiding the way standing so close to her was punching air out of my lungs.

Isabella reached for me.

I dodged.

If she touched me, I wasn’t going to stay sane.

If she touched my skin, I was going to bend her over and fuck her asshole roughly until she bled and I have a taste of her juicy blood.

Hold it. Damn it. I was barely holding myself together.

She stared at me with her trembling eyes, trying to drink me in like she needed proof I wasn’t a hallucination.

She opened her mouth to speak but I beat her to it.

“Leave.”

Her bottom lip quivered. She shook her head, slowly heartbreaking.

“I can’t….I can’t believe it’s you,” she whispered, her voice cracking. “It’s been so long, Luca. I—I thought I would never see you again. I thought—”

She was choking on her tears. Trying to control herself. I watched her swallow them down like they were burning her throat.

“God. I miss you, Luca.” She breathed. “It hurts. I have wanted to talk to you for years. I was hoping—”

I saw red. I was cool with her fake tears but lying through her perfect teeth? That was fucking absurd.

“Your hope disgusts me.”

My words dropped like a blade between us. Her face shattered which was so satisfying.

She blinked hard, stepping away from me. She wiped her cheeks with her shaky hands. Heaven help me, she still looked concerned.

“Are you okay?” She asked softly. “Where are you staying? It was you in my room right? You can’t be that reckless. What if someone sees you? What if they are still looking for you? Can you please—”

“Get lost.”

“But—”

Her phone rang. Vivi flashed across the screen from where she stood.

I pointed to the phone. “Go.”

“I will, Luca.” She responded. “But, don't you want to at least say hi to your mother?”

I froze.

“I still have a mother?”

I wasn’t even being sarcastic. Because the truth was that in the years I had been locked up, starving, bleeding, rotting….there was only one face I kept in my head.

Only one name in my head.

Hers.

Isabella.

She swallowed. It looked like my mother was still alive after all.

“Luca…are you for real?”

My voice cracked like a whip as I said. “Go.”

She hesitated and it was a fucking mistake. I stepped forward, and she stiffened, her breath catching in her throat.

“Go,” I repeated, my voice low and sharp. “Unless you want me to choke you to death while you have your last orgasm.”

Her pupils dilated.

Her knees buckled and I caught the tiny betraying rub of her thighs.

Hell no. Fear turned her on.

No way I could lose my shit now. My cock was pent up in my jeans, begging for her attention.

I turned my face away, suppressing a groan.

Her phone rang again and finally, she moved away. She walked away from me slowly like leaving me hurt more than staying but I was going to be a fool to believe that.

She stared at me for minutes, then walked away from me.

I exhaled through my teeth, tension flooding my shoulders.

I watched her disappear into the garage and my fingers balled into fists.

Three days, and I was already failing.

Three days, and she already had me losing control like I was nineteen again.

I swallowed the ache in my chest and walked towards the house. There were things I needed to do.

Daniel got richer or maybe he was just better at hiding his dirt.

The place was bigger than the previous one. New security system, stupid expensive art on the walls that he couldn’t spell the names of.

I could have broken into the house through three different points. But I chose the balcony, because that’s the one he had been reckless with.

His mistake.

I climbed in silently, landing on a carpet that cost more than the food in prison for a month. I walked through the hallway, passing my baby’s door.

I stared at it a second too long before tearing my eyes away and headed towards the master bedroom.

The door wasn't even locked when I pushed it.

Daniel stood with his back to me, only his towel clung tightly to his waist. He was rummaging through his closet like an idiot. His shoulders were softened, stomach rounded.

Without turning, he spoke up, “Vivian, you are early. Is something wrong?”

I picked up the tiny knife lying on the tray beside the half-eaten apple. The blade was small, but it didn’t need to be big to get the job done.

“Been expecting me, Daniel?”

He spun too fast and the towel almost flew off. The horror on his face was damn beautiful. His breathing froze, then stuttered like he couldn’t decide whether to scream or pass out.

“H-How—how did you—how did you get in here?” He choked out finally.

I gestured lazily at his towel.

“Let’s be careful with that towel. Make sure it doesn’t drop. Not interested in seeing you naked.”

He clutched it tighter. Thank goodness, he followed instructions.

I slowly stepped forward. He backed away so quickly he hit the wall with a dull thud. His mouth opened and closed like a dying fish.

“What—what do you want from me?” He stammered.

I tilted my head. “You are not happy to see me?”

His skin paled even more.

“You…You—I thought—” he couldn’t finish.

“You don’t miss me?” I asked softly.

I pressed the knife to his neck before he could answer. Just enough for him to feel the truth against his pulse.

“I—I do! I miss you, Luca! Of course I do!” He yelled too quickly.
