Chapter 3 The Violent Bump

Desmond got out of his car and moved towards Isla’s car. When he saw her tied up, he let out a loud laugh, annoying Isla further. Isla rolled her eyes hard. She gestured at her hands and groaned at her father.

“Ha-ha, let her loose! I hope she didn’t create much trouble for you guys!” laughed Desmond.

“No! The ride was easy-breezy!” laughed the guards. One of them untied her hands, and she started hitting him, but her mouth was still covered with the tape.

Desmond laughed and laughed at his daughter’s feistiness and unwavering resolve to fight back. She got that from him, and he was proud.

“Stop hitting me, Miss Harington! I don’t want you to get hurt!” laughed the guard.

“Hmmm… mmmm,” Isla kept mumbling.

“If you are cursing him, at least remove the tape from your mouth,” taunted Desmond. Isla immediately stopped moving. She realised she was being an idiot. She lowered her head in embarrassment and softly removed the tape.

“Ahh!” she cried when the tape tugged on her peach fuzz. “I will drown you, all of you!!!” she growled. But everyone could just laugh at her.

“I am not going to whatever woods!” yelled Isla with a red face. She was so angry, so sad that her face had turned into a red bell pepper.

“Yeah, yeah, we will see! Let me tell you this. You are still a minor. So you are coming with me. I am your guardian. When you turn 18, you can do anything you want; until then, you have to listen to me,” smirked Desmond.

“We… will… definitely… see!” Isla accepted his challenge.

All got out of the car, and the guards started dragging all the luggage behind them. Two were walking right next to Isla. She bit her lips and kept mapping her path. She needed to get away. She needed to go back home and call her mother. She was not even allowed to carry her phone in her hands or in her pockets. Her guards were doing that for her. Everyone knew she would try to call her mother, even though Claire never picked up the call. But Isla never wavered. She would leave a message for her mother every day.

Suddenly, another plan formed in her mind. She knew how to get out of the airport. She knew her father would be busy with the boarding process and only her guards would keep an eye on her. And she had fooled them so many times. Yeah, true, that they knew all her tactics now, but they had never transported her through an airport. She knew what she had to do.

“I have to go to the bathroom!” announced Isla.

“What are you cooking now?” asked Desmond.

“Why would I be cooking something?” snapped Isla. “I think… my period is about to come. I need to get a tampon inside my va-jay-jay!” smiled Isla.

Desmond looked at her with suspicious eyes, and then he smiled. Isla was taken aback. Why was her father smiling? She saw everyone looking everywhere except at her as the talk of periods made them uncomfortable, but not her father.

“I raised you, girl! I was the one who taught you everything about mensuration. I bring your toiletries, and for a fact, I know that your period just got over. Any more tactics to run away?” smirked Desmond.

“Okay, fine! I was lying! But you didn’t let me change my clothes. At least let me change them. I cannot roam around the airport in my shorts!!!” snapped Isla.

“Your fault! Not my problem!” said Desmond with his nose in the air.

“Please! If you let me do that, I will calmly come with you to whatever woods,” said Isla.

Desmond looked at her with his piercing eyes. “Is this another of your plans? Are you telling the truth?”

“Yes, I will come with you, I swear! Just let me change my clothes! Let me get into proper pants,” begged Isla.

“Hmm… take her to the bathroom and keep a close eye on her,” ordered Desmond and pushed Isla’s suitcase in front of her. She sighed with relief and walked to the bathroom. Now she had to find a way to get out of the bathroom without being seen by her bodyguards.

She waited in the bathroom, praying to God for help. Suddenly, God heard her pleas and sent a group of chatty women inside the bathroom. She looked at her clothes and realised that she really needed to change her clothes as the sleeveless t-shirt and blue shorts were making her stand out in the airport. She looked like she had gone on a run and, while running, just wandered into the airport.

She was about to open the suitcase when the group of women started walking out of the bathroom after touching up their makeup. She didn’t have any time to lose. She had to use the cover and run away from her father.

She stood in the middle of the women who didn’t mind a teenager standing among them, and they just walked out. Isla kept her head lowered, and as soon as she was out of the guards’ line of sight, she dashed towards the exit. She knew she had to run a few meters to get out of the airport. Being a swimmer and an athlete, she was fast and agile; she just kept running and dragging her suitcase behind her.

She kept glancing behind her to look for the bodyguards following her, but kept running forward. She again looked back and almost sighed with relief as she was about to touch her freedom, taste the sweet, sweet freedom.

But fate had other plans. While running, she saw a group of young men walking towards her, but she failed to determine the distance and bumped violently into one of them. She saw that boy falling on his ass and a few suitcases just dropped on the ground, attracting everyone’s attention to the chaos.

She knew she, too, was going to fall; she had felt the force while bumping into that boy. She closed her eyes and waited for her ass to make contact with the floor, but no hurt, no pain arrived.

She opened her eyes and saw two beautiful, piercing, deep blue eyes looking directly into her soul. Her mouth fell open, and her eyes widened with shock. The man standing right in front of her, with his strong arms keeping her in place, was giving her goosebumps.
