Chapter 5

Seeing Harold still acting so arrogantly, Alice cracked her knuckles and snapped, "Still full of yourself, huh? Didn't learn your lesson earlier?"

Harold, startled by her demeanor, quickly hid behind the police officer and asked, "Did you see that? She's threatening me right in front of you! You gotta lock her up, or she'll be a danger to my safety!"

Soon, Harold's lawyer arrived.

He was dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit, standing tall with a stern face.

As he entered, his gaze swept over the calm-faced Alice, a flicker of surprise in his eyes, before he turned to the furious Harold. "What's going on here?"

Alice stared at the familiar face, feeling a bit dazed.

Wasn't this the jerk lawyer who had a one-night stand with her after getting drunk and then tried to hand her a contract to be his sugar baby?

Talk about a small world, running into him at the police station.

But judging by his expression, he probably didn't recognize her, right?

Makes sense, a guy with such a messy personal life probably used that trick on countless women.

Thinking this, Alice mentally grouped him with Harold.

Harold exaggerated the story, twisting the facts, claiming Alice invited him to dinner over the school's activity room issue and tried to seduce him. When he refused, she got angry and attacked him.

Alice couldn't help but laugh in disbelief. She had never seen someone twist the truth so much.

With his looks, worse than a bear, she would seduce him?

Only if she were blind.

After Harold finished, Samuel's gaze finally landed on Alice. "If what my client says is true, then you're suspected of intentional harm."

"What, you as a lawyer only listen to one side of the story? You say I committed intentional harm, so I did? He harassed me first, I was just defending myself!"

Before Samuel could respond, Harold stood up, pointing at her, "You say I harassed you, do you have evidence? If not, you're slandering me! These injuries on me are clearly from you!"

Facing Harold's rant, Alice calmly took out her phone and pressed play.

"So, you're still a virgin? Alice, I control the school's activity room. If you stick with me, I'll make sure you get what you want at school..."

"Stop pretending to be so pure. You're in your twenties and haven't had a man. Don't you feel lonely? Don't you want a man to satisfy you?"

Harold's disgusting words, the sounds of him grabbing her, and Alice's resistance were all crystal clear in the recording.

After the recording finished, Alice calmly put away her phone.

The police station fell silent, everyone looking at Harold with contempt and disdain.

Harold's face turned ugly. That little witch had secretly recorded him.

"This recording must be fake, it's not real!"

Harold tried to argue, but the young officer coldly retorted, "From the time you called the police to when we brought her in, it's been only a few minutes. How could she have tampered with it?"

Faced with the officer's question, Harold was speechless.

Samuel's cold gaze swept over Harold, his expression growing even colder. "Harold, I'm not taking your case."

"Attorney Harris, what do you mean? We agreed over the phone that if you help me get this woman jailed, I'd pay any lawyer fees. You're the most famous lawyer in Emerald City!"

Samuel looked at Harold with clear impatience. He then turned to the officer, speaking calmly, "Sir, based on the recording, Mr. Rogers attempted to assault Ms. Baker, which constitutes attempted rape. Ms. Baker was merely defending herself, not committing intentional harm."

Harold was stunned, and after realizing what was said, he angrily shouted, "Attorney Harris, you're my lawyer, how can you side with her!"

Samuel coldly glanced at him, "The facts are clear, the evidence is solid. You should bear the consequences."

"You!" Harold was too angry to speak, but the truth was evident. He was temporarily detained for attempted rape.

Alice looked at Samuel, surprised he would speak up for her, especially after she had humiliated him with two hundred dollars in the hotel room.

She thought Samuel would take the chance to retaliate, but he ended up helping her.

She was someone who clearly distinguished between gratitude and grudges. Although she didn't like this lawyer, she still thanked him for what he did just now. "Thank you."

Samuel's gaze fell on Alice's face, his eyebrows slightly raised. "If you want to put Mr. Rogers in jail, I can be your lawyer and ensure he gets the maximum sentence."

Meeting his deep, captivating eyes, Alice's mind flashed back to that night, feeling annoyed.

It was just an accident. Why couldn't she forget it?

Samuel had humiliated her with money; she couldn't possibly show him a good face.

"No need, Attorney Harris's fees are too high for me!"

Samuel's gaze lingered on Alice's face, his deep eyes seemingly holding other emotions. He spoke softly, his voice magnetic and pleasant, "No lawyer fee, you can exchange it for something else."

Alice was stunned, looking up at him. "What do you mean? Exchange for what?"

"How about repaying with your body?"

Hearing this, any gratitude Alice had for him vanished instantly. She glared at Samuel, "Attorney Harris, you're really shameless!"

"Men are naturally lustful, and if I help you win the case, you wouldn't be losing out, would you?" Samuel raised an eyebrow, a wicked smile playing on his lips.

He wasn't particularly interested in sex, but ever since that night with her, her softness and tightness kept resurfacing in his mind, making him crave it.

That's why he offered her 20,000 dollars to be his sugar baby, only to be humiliated by her, saying his skills were lacking.

"This is a police station; discussing such things is illegal!"

One of the officers couldn't stand it anymore and reprimanded them.

Alice rolled her eyes at him, "You hear that, even the police say it's illegal."

Talking about money and sex in front of the police, Alice seriously doubted this lawyer was a thug.

"How about we discuss it outside?" Samuel raised an eyebrow, gesturing for Alice to leave.

"There's nothing to discuss between us, goodbye!" Alice threw those words at Samuel, turned, and quickly walked away.
