Chapter 8
Alice had been on two blind dates in a row and was almost ready to give up on finding someone to marry.
The two guys she met were no better than the Wright family.
Just as she was about to leave, a man sat down across from her.
When she saw his face, Alice frowned slightly. "What are you doing here?"
The man said, "Same as you, on a blind date."
Following his gaze, she realized he was the guy who had just asked for $888,000 upfront.
No wonder. Only he could be so shameless.
"What, did you come here to laugh at me? You didn't seem to do any better than I just now."
"Of course not. I just had an idea and wanted to discuss it with you."
Samuel raised an eyebrow mischievously, his bright eyes reflecting Alice's silhouette.
"What idea?" Alice asked warily, her guard up against Samuel.
Though they had been intimate before, they were still practically strangers. Alice was always cautious.
"Since we're both in a hurry to get married, why don't we give it a shot? We've already been intimate, you know my size, I know your depth. It's better than marrying a stranger, don't you think?"
Alice almost spat out her coffee.
How could someone be so brazen, saying such blunt things so casually?
"So, what do you think? Want to consider it?" Samuel asked, raising an eyebrow mischievously.
Looking at his face, Alice had to admit Samuel's features were exactly her type. Even his height, over six feet, was perfect for her.
She stared into Samuel's eyes. "Are you serious?"
Samuel replied, "As serious as it gets! Think about it."
Seeing Samuel's serious expression, Alice was silent for a moment before making a bold decision. "Alright! Let's get married. I want to get the marriage license today. Can you do that?"
Rather than going on blind dates with weirdos, at least Samuel was handsome and good in bed. Even if it was just for his looks, she wouldn't lose out. He was good-looking, after all.
Alice admitted she was superficial. She really cared about looks.
"Sure, no problem!" Samuel waved his driver's license.
They agreed and went straight to the Marriage License Office.
When the marriage certificate was stamped, Alice felt a bit lightheaded.
Walking out of the Marriage License Office, Alice looked at the certificate in her hand, hardly believing she had just gotten married.
"Where are we going next?" Alice asked Samuel, who had a bit of a rogue vibe.
Her new husband—she only knew his name and profession. She didn't even know if he had a house or a car.
"To the hospital." Samuel grabbed Alice's hand and hailed a taxi.
"Why the hospital? We just did the marriage checkup. I'm healthy." Thinking Samuel wanted a physical, Alice frowned in confusion.
"To check the men's health department," Samuel said this as he pulled Alice into the taxi.
"Why the men's health department? Do you have a problem?" Alice glanced at Samuel's crotch.
She had just gotten married. Could he be infertile?
Thinking of this possibility, Alice felt she might have been tricked.
"Didn't you say I should get checked out? You told me to see a men's health specialist."
Samuel remembered this clearly.
Alice blushed and stiffened her neck. "Actually, it's not that bad. I was just..."
Before she could finish, Samuel interrupted, "Since you have high expectations for our sex life, I need to make sure I'm up to par. Otherwise, you'll be disappointed."
She had high expectations for their sex life? When did she say that?
"Maybe we should forget it. Going to the hospital for this kind of thing is embarrassing, right?" Alice smiled awkwardly, her face red.
She thought he would drop it, but Samuel was determined to take her to the hospital.
He held Alice's hand firmly, his tone resolute. "No way. This is about your happiness for the next few decades. If I can't satisfy you, you'll be disappointed. Don't worry, I'll get treated and make sure you're happy every night."
Alice was amazed at how thick-skinned someone could be.
And he was already calling her "wife" so smoothly!
Seeing no way to convince him otherwise, Alice followed him to the men's health clinic.
The nurses on duty were mesmerized by Samuel's handsome face.
"Look at that guy. He's so tall and handsome. His features are perfect."
"Even the way he walks is charming. I've never seen such a handsome man at work."
The nurses whispered among themselves.
One sighed, "But such a handsome man has to see a men's health specialist. Looks and health don't always go together."
"If I could have a boyfriend that handsome, I'd accept any condition. His face is a work of art."
Listening to the nurses gossip, Alice was speechless.
Though Samuel's face was indeed flawless, it wasn't worth sacrificing happiness for.
"Is that his wife next to him? Having such a handsome husband must be a joy to look at every day. I'm so jealous."
Alice was surprised at how infatuated the young nurses were with Samuel. She wondered if they would still feel the same if they knew how shameless he was.
At the clinic door, Alice wanted to wait outside, but Samuel pulled her in.
After the doctor gave him a test order, they went to the nurse's station to get a sample cup.
Seeing Samuel approach, the nurses greeted him, hiding their jealousy.
Samuel asked, "Could I get a sample cup?"
Seeing Samuel's manner, Alice rolled her eyes.
She seriously doubted whether marrying him was the right decision.
One nurse handed him the sample cup, smiling infatuatedly. "Sir, do you need help?"
Samuel smiled lightly and replied, "No need. My wife will handle it."
