Chapter 10

Enemies of the Wilde family?

Mr. Wilde’s enemies on the battlefield probably wouldn’t resort to such tactics. They would simply engage in a proper duel.

“The most likely explanation is that those old foxes from the Wilde Group can’t wait any longer and want to seize control of the real power!”

Mel Duncan shook his head, saying he didn’t really understand those things. All he knew was how to fight. He really had no idea about anything else.

“Actually, sometimes it’s not necessarily a bad thing to know less.”

After that, a woman wearing a professional female outfit walked toward the two of them, wearing seven-centimeter-high heels.

Holding a folder in one hand and a phone in the other, with headphones on, it seemed like she was on the phone with someone!

Her tone was slightly displeased. After seeing Mandy March and Mel Duncan, she hung up the phone on her own.

“Brother Yi, I don’t want to see him!”

“Maria Wilde, sister, will you never forgive the mage?”

Upon hearing this, Maria Wilde sneered, “A mage? Mandy March, since when have you had the ability to become a mage?”

“Maria Wilde, this isn’t the time for childish tantrums. Mr. Wilde is critically ill right now. Those cunning people at the Wilde Group will surely take this opportunity to strike!”

Upon hearing this, Maria Wilde quickly stepped over to Mandy March and said in a stern voice, “I’ve spent years in the workplace. How could I not think of something like this? You worthless thug who only knows how to fight don’t need to worry about such things!”

Mel Duncan kept shaking his head as he watched Maria Wilde walk away.

“It seems that Maria Wilde still can’t get over that hurdle in her heart! Mage, what are your plans now?”

“Mel Duncan, you take care of this for now. I’ll go comfort my sister first!”

However, on the way, Mandy March thought again of her master. It had been so many years since the master disappeared that Mandy might not even remember exactly how long.

Mandy March only remembered that her master was a very messy person. He was always acting strangely, and although he coughed up blood almost every time, he couldn’t resist smoking and drinking.

Basically, everything like smoking, drinking, and gambling—these are all things I learned from that worthless master of mine.

There’s also information on how to prepare various poisons, as well as the exact proportions of ingredients needed to create antidotes.

Since childhood, he was trained in the shadow of his master’s various poisons and brutal beatings.

It was this that gave him a keen sense of smell and exceptional perception. He could detect danger the moment it approached. This is also why he could easily catch so many darts. Of course, his speed was also the result of practicing alongside his master’s incredible movements.

Even among the elite in the military, those like Mel Duncan couldn’t keep up with Mandy March’s pace.

“Mandy March, you actually have the heart to come back!”

When Molly Craigie saw Mandy March, she couldn’t help but complain. But Aunt Craigie said, “Girl, that’s impolite. Call him ‘brother’!”

“Auntie, it’s my fault. I didn’t bring any nice things for Molly when I came back.”

Then, when they were on the road, he asked, “Molly, do you have a driver’s license?”

When Molly Craig heard this, she was puzzled, but she nodded anyway. Her grades were quite good at that time, so the teacher assigned her a spot right away.

“Alright, then let’s go buy a car!”

“Sure, let’s go over there. It’s only five kilometers away!”

Upon hearing this, Mandy March patted Molly Craig’s head affectionately. “You little girl, you’re still so frugal. From now on, I’ll give you pocket money. I’ve become wealthy now! For now, I’ll buy you a car, so it’ll be easier for you to get to and from school.”

Because if I were to buy a house, Uncle Craig and Aunt Craig would definitely refuse. Although I’m technically their son, they say I’m just their godson, so there’s no need for me to buy them many things.

“Bro, you’re so good to me!”

“Silly girl, I’m your brother! By the way, do you want to ride in a police car?”

Mandy March had already made up her mind. She had added Roy Duncan’s WeChat account that very night, so she simply called him right away.

No one answered the first one, so let’s try the second one.

One after another, I finally heard Roy Duncan answering the phone.

“I’m busy!”

“Captain Duncan, I’m sure you’re looking for me. So, I’ve decided to have you drive the police car yourself to pick me up!”

Suddenly, Roy Duncan’s roaring voice came through the phone.

“Mandy March, I warn you, don’t mess with me! I’m driving over right now to arrest you!”

“Then, Captain Duncan, I’m at Longcheng Hospital right now. Please come and pick me up quickly!”

After hanging up the phone, Roy Duncan gave some instructions, then drove the police car straight to the address that Mandy March had given him.

Because in the Jars family, Burgess Jars happened to be sent away on a mission. Everyone else was killed. It’s unlikely that even an ordinary assassin could have accomplished such a thing.

Those male law enforcers aren’t even capable of defeating killers from the underworld, let alone destroying the Jars family.

And Mandy March is just a suspicious person.

Because along the way, Roy Duncan lost consciousness, so we don’t know what exactly happened in between.

Roy Duncan was extremely annoyed by Mandy March’s constant disruptions. Now, Burgess Jars seemed to have disappeared without a trace. He had no idea how to proceed with the cases under his responsibility.

“A young celebrity died suddenly overnight. The suspect is Burgess Jars, but there’s no direct evidence to prove that he’s the killer.”

“The Jars family was wiped out overnight. The suspect is Mandy March. However, there’s no direct evidence to prove that Mandy March is indeed the killer. Moreover, Angelo Jars, who belongs to the Jars Group, holds a relatively low position within the group in Wales. So, how could he easily get in touch with people from the underworld? There must be other people involved in this.”

As the captain of the Law Enforcement Bureau, Roy Duncan does a pretty good job analyzing these cases.

“Captain Duncan, we’ve been waiting for you for a long time!”

Mandy March said something politely. When he heard that Mandy March didn’t call him “husband,” and saw that there was also a girl with a similar appearance to his own beside her, he felt inexplicably annoyed.

"You guys?"

“Yes, my sister said she doesn’t want to buy a car, but she doesn’t want me to spend money on taxis. So I thought, Captain Duncan is a kind person; he probably won’t mind giving us a ride!”

"You..."

Roy Duncan’s face turned pale and red with anger at Mandy March. He yelled, “Mandy March, what do you think I am? I thought you’d cooperate with me in the investigation. Instead, you make me your driver!”

Molly Craigie leaned in Mandy March’s arms and said, “Mandy, that woman looks so scary. Let’s not get in the car. How about you call a taxi instead?”

“What?”

Roy Duncan was furious: “I drove all the way from the crime scene, and you two idiots just refuse to get in the car!”

The more I thought about it, the angrier I became. Then I yelled, “You two, stop talking nonsense and get in the car!”

“Captain Duncan, thank you so much!”

Roy Duncan really didn’t want to talk to Mandy March right now. But seeing Molly Craig sticking to him like glue through the rearview mirror made him even angrier!

I couldn’t help but slam on the brakes. Then I said, “Hey, you girl behind me! If you really think you can get a driver’s license, come sit in the passenger seat. I’ll teach you how to drive!”

“But you’re from the Law Enforcement Bureau, not the Traffic Bureau!”
