Chapter 7
Hearing Mandy March’s tone, Roy Duncan thought to himself that this person was incredibly arrogant. Demanding a hundred million from the Jars Group? I bet it would take a hundred million in “coins of hell” to pay her off!
Mandy March really did go that way.
Then Angelo Jares and Burgess Jares, through their own cameras, saw that Mandy March hadn’t even brought Mel Duncan with her. They were about to send someone to take action.
But later on, Roy Duncan and the others also went in.
“Dad, this guy actually called the law enforcement officers. We can’t do anything!”
“Hmph, this little girl keeps trying to oppose me over and over again. Right now, we’ve arranged for people from the Underworld to take care of this. If those people from the Underworld really want to kill Mandy March, they’ll have to get rid of all these people from the Law Enforcement Bureau first.”
Pfft!
A cold flash shot out suddenly, causing the several male law enforcers nearby to break out in cold sweats.
Even Roy Duncan couldn’t help but exclaim in amazement. That cold beam of light was aimed straight at her forehead.
“Wife, don’t be afraid. I’m here! With a few more of these little flying knives like this, I can still catch them all!”
It seems that what Mandy March said was indeed true: everywhere around, there were flashes of cold light everywhere.
But where this person is, those people from the law enforcement agencies have no idea at all.
Actually, Mandy March could counter with a single move and kill him on the spot. But she doesn’t want to reveal her strength too early. After all, this situation is definitely being monitored by the old master of the Jars family.
If I reveal my strength too early, those two little foxes will run away. Then my fiancée’s trip would have been for nothing, wouldn’t it?
After catching all those flying knives, he threw them directly into the small pond in the Jars family’s courtyard.
Suddenly, green smoke began to rise from the pool. At the same time, white bubbles kept emerging, accompanied by loud cracking noises.
Burgess Jars was shocked to see that Mandy March on the screen was actually able to catch that flying knife from the underworld.
“Burgess, what do you think of Mandy March’s abilities?”
Burgess Jars said that Mandy March’s skills are likely even better than Mel Duncan’s, given how fast she is!
“Burgess, let me tell you something. If Mandy March is really that strong, then he should be able to catch those flying knives and throw them back. But right now, he has no idea where the people from the Underworld are! So, while Mandy March might be fast, in reality, he’s no match for the people from the Underworld. They’ve committed countless acts of assassination!”
Roy Duncan was shocked by what he saw.
“Captain Duncan, this can’t be some trick this kid has cooked up with Burgess Jules and their gang to trick our law enforcement agency, can it?”
Thud!
Mandy March gave the male officer a sharp blow to the forehead, though not too hard. Otherwise, the officer would be lying on the ground by now.
“I just want to see if there’s something wrong with your mind. Roy Duncan is my husband! Why would I ever conspire with some perverted guy to harm my own beautiful wife?”
“Who’s your wife? Stop talking nonsense!”
“Everything that shouldn’t have been done was done…”
The few male law enforcement officers standing near Roy Duncan all turned to look at him at that moment. Although Roy Duncan retorted, “What’s there to look at? This kid is talking nonsense. Only you would believe him!”
Oddly enough, the more she said these words, the softer her voice became, and her face turned red with embarrassment.
“Stop talking nonsense!”
However, Roy Duncan felt a slight fondness for Mandy March, since she had just saved him. Still, he still found her annoying.
The people in the underground world temporarily stopped their actions, and the group was able to enter the Jars family’s main residence without any problems.
Mandy March kicked the security door off its hinges, causing Roy Duncan to shake his head in disapproval.
“Burgess Jules, I’m here to collect the money. Give me the money, and then you can go to jail!”
Roy Duncan showed no courtesy toward Mandy March at all. He pushed him aside, then showed his badge from the law enforcement agency and spoke seriously.
“Burgess Jars, that young celebrity who died suddenly a few days ago. He was once your lover, wasn’t he? Now you need to come with us to the police station and explain yourself!”
Mandy March noticed a sofa nearby, with some sticky liquid on it. She then took Burgess Jars’s clothes and threw them right on top of the mess. She sat down right on top of it.
Although this “bullying” costs tens of thousands of yuan, if it helps to get rid of all these people, then what’s the big deal about this piece of clothing?
Angelo Jars asked, “Captain Duncan, how can your words convince anyone? Do you really have no one else to assign to this task? Or are you trying to imitate those ancient law-enforcers and just arrest anyone to fill the quota?”
Roy Duncan sneered, “Angelo Jars, don’t get too proud. You’re part of this too!”
“This kid’s name is Mandy March, right? And where’s that bodyguard of yours who called himself a mage?”
Many of Angelo Jars’s plans were ruined by Roy Duncan. As a result, the two of them treated each other like enemies whenever they met. But Roy Duncan couldn’t find any evidence to support his claims. Although the law enforcement agency had significant power, it wasn’t allowed to arrest anyone without evidence.
“We’re just asking Burgess Jars to assist us with our investigation. It’s not that we want to arrest him. Do you understand what I mean?”
“Yes, of course, I understand, Burgess. You still need to have children with your girlfriend, right? Since Captain Duncan has come to ask for your help, please understand that I really want to hold a grandson in my arms. So, given these special circumstances, it’s necessary to make more visits in order to complete the task as quickly as possible!”
“If you ask someone to help with the investigation, and that person is busy with other matters, then you’ll have to wait. Of course, they’ll need to find another place to do the work instead!”
“Oh, old man, where is this money? Is it with your son, or with you?”
Mandy March didn’t care where Burgess Jars went. All he knew was that this old man was extremely dangerous. Everything that had just happened had been orchestrated by him.
It would be far too easy for him to get rid of this old man. But still, he needed to work together with Roy Duncan.
“Since I, an old man, am still alive, then this money naturally belongs to me!”
Mandy March nodded in satisfaction upon hearing this.
“Hmm, Captain Duncan has invited your son. So if your son wants to go to the hotel, he’d better do it soon. But you still need to keep your money with you!”
“Hmph! How reckless of them!”
“Do you think, if I weren’t confident, I would have let you in?”
Because when they first entered the Jars family, the pistols of several law enforcers were confiscated by the butler downstairs. He said that if it was merely to ask the young master to assist with the investigation, there was no need to bring such dangerous items.
In fact, that butler was also one of the pawns in their carefully orchestrated plan.
“Captain Duncan, this kid is nothing but a fool. My own son wrote him an IOU, and yet this guy still dares to come here demanding repayment!”
“The money I wanted, I’ve never failed to get back!”
Angelo Jars snapped his fingers, and a white-colored shadow appeared. Soon after, a strange gas was released. In an instant, several members of the law enforcement team felt their bodies go weak and limp.
“The hunter is always invincible against his prey. Now that you’ve lost your pistols, and you’ve also been affected by my ‘Soft Bone Powder’, you won’t be able to move for several hours.”
“Roy Duncan, you little brat! You always oppose me. This time, I’ll make sure to watch you die with my own eyes!”
