Chapter 6

Benjamin ignored Evelyn. He thoughtfully opened the car door for Amelia, closed it, and then got in the car himself.

Through the car window, Evelyn could clearly see the smugness in Amelia's eyes as she looked at her.

It was as if she was saying—"See? As long as I make the slightest move, Benjamin will definitely take my side."

After Benjamin settled in, he didn't rush to fasten his seatbelt. Instead, he turned to look at Amelia first.

He leaned over, pulled out the seatbelt beside Amelia, and carefully fastened it for her.

During this, Amelia deliberately pushed out her chest, which happened to brush against Benjamin's arm as he pulled back.

Seeing this scene, Evelyn let out a cold laugh.

Amelia's face was full of provocation. She even silently mouthed to her, "You can't beat me."

Whether it was family or men, she would take them all away from Evelyn, one by one.

At this, Evelyn took a big step backward.

Watching the car window slowly rise, she took a deep breath.

Some things, if she had tolerated once, she would absolutely not tolerate a second time.

"Shameless."

As she spoke, the window had just risen a third of the way, and her voice clearly reached Benjamin and Amelia's ears.

"A pair of scumbag, if you want to be together so badly, then get divorced!"

She said this to Benjamin.

"As long as you and I don't divorce, Amelia will forever be a despised mistress, and you two can never truly be together."

"Why bother? Why keep torturing each other like this? Just divorce cleanly, and on your wedding day, I'll definitely send you a banner that says 'Congratulations to two jerks finally getting together.' How about that?"

After venting her anger, Evelyn felt completely relieved. She didn't care about Benjamin's dark expression as he looked at her and turned to leave.

Amelia hadn't expected Evelyn to be so blunt in her outburst. The provocative expression she had been wearing instantly froze and shattered.

When she came to her senses, her first reaction was to check Benjamin's expression.

She saw a hint of anger between Benjamin's brows, but it was far less severe than she had imagined.

She couldn't even tell if Benjamin was angry because Evelyn had cursed him, or because Evelyn had mentioned divorce.

Thinking of this, Amelia's eyes shifted, and just as she was about to speak, someone knocked on the car window. She turned to look and saw that Evelyn had returned and was standing outside her car door.

Amelia was confused but still chose to lower the window.

Evelyn sneered, "Forgot to tell you—he has erectile dysfunction."

After leaving this remark, Evelyn rolled her eyes and left without looking back this time, not sparing Benjamin even a single glance.

Amelia's expression froze, anger surging in her heart, but considering Benjamin was present, she forcibly held it back.

She calmed herself down, then turned to look at Benjamin, trying hard to put on a gentle smile.

"Benjamin, Evelyn only said those things because she cares about you too much. Please don't take it to heart."

Her expression now showed none of the provocation she had directed at Evelyn earlier.

Seeing Benjamin had no reaction, Amelia sighed as if helpless.

"But what she said was really harsh. Benjamin, it's my fault for being stuck between you and her, making things difficult for you."

As she spoke, she moved her body closer to Benjamin, tentatively reaching out to hug him.

But the next second, Benjamin calmly moved back to his seat, fastened his seatbelt, and gently reminded her, "Watch your hand injury."

He didn't mention Evelyn at all, which nearly made the smile Amelia had worked so hard to maintain collapse instantly.

Benjamin's hand rested on the ignition button, hovering there, and then his eyes looked toward the rearview mirror.

Amelia noticed his gaze and followed it. The hand resting on her knee suddenly clenched into a fist.

He was watching Evelyn's retreating figure through the rearview mirror.

His eyes seemed to hold some meaning that Amelia couldn't understand.

Her heart instantly sank to the bottom, and a terrible thought emerged in her mind.

No, she absolutely couldn't just sit and wait like this.

After hesitating, Amelia quickly found an opening.

She tentatively asked, "Benjamin, are you going to divorce Evelyn?"

As her words fell, Benjamin had already started the car.

His response seemed to be drowned out by the sound of the car starting. All that reached Amelia's ears was one sentence.

"It's getting late."

He was avoiding the topic.

Realizing this, Amelia felt a bit panicked.

Perhaps Benjamin hadn't realized it yet, but his unconscious following gaze was enough to prove one thing.

He definitely had at least some feelings for Evelyn.

It was just that Benjamin hadn't yet recognized his own feelings.

And what she needed to do was completely crush them before he realized.

The first thing she needed to do was make Evelyn completely rotten and disgusting in Benjamin's heart. Only then would Benjamin be repulsed by Evelyn and would definitely not fall in love with her.

Thinking this through, Amelia's eyes were full of determination, shining with particular brilliance.

Meanwhile.

Evelyn returned to the entrance of the club and called Scarlett.

Before the call even connected, Scarlett came out of the club's main entrance with her phone.

"Evelyn!"

Scarlett waved her phone high in the air, then ran over with big steps.

"Why are you here alone?"

She instinctively looked around and didn't see Benjamin anywhere. While wondering about this, she heard Evelyn say.

"Naturally, he went to be with his beloved."

The sarcasm in her words was crystal clear. How could Scarlett not hear it?

Remembering what Evelyn had said earlier, and with her question still unanswered, she moved closer and asked quietly in her ear, "Evelyn, there's no one else now. Tell me honestly, what you said about Benjamin having erectile dysfunction, is it true?"

Facing her curious gaze, Evelyn helplessly shook her head. "I don't know."

"What?" Scarlett thought she had heard wrong. "How could you not know?"

Hearing herself say this, Evelyn also found it ridiculous.

After all, in three years of marriage, she and Benjamin had never shared a bed.

Let alone make love.

"Whatever." Evelyn let out a long breath. "Let's not talk about that jerk anymore."

Hearing this, Scarlett immediately nodded. "It's okay. Whatever decision you make, I'll support you unconditionally."

At this point, she suddenly remembered something else and changed the subject.

"Didn't you say you were going to the driving range later? Why haven't you left yet?"

Evelyn's expression changed after she finished that sentence. Remembering those scenes from earlier, she snorted coldly, "Not going anymore."

She had decided that she absolutely wouldn't do things that only added to her troubles, starting right now.

She put her arm around Scarlett's neck and said with a smile, "Come on, I'll treat you to dinner."
