Chapter 1

"Two Holy Light Healers, there's only one spot left for the Radiant City's sanctuary. Which of you brothers will come with me?"

The golden-armored messenger impatiently cracked his whip, looking down at us from his high vantage point.

Before I could even speak, I was suddenly shoved hard on the shoulder.

"Arthur, go to Radiant City."

I turned around abruptly and met the face of my twin brother, Victor.

He smiled, straightened my collar, forcefully shoved the platinum badge that symbolized vitality into my hand, and then turned away without a second thought, walking to the other side.

There, a dilapidated horse-drawn carriage was parked, heading towards the border mining town of "Stone Fortress".

As I watched his retreating figure, a chilling thought pierced my mind—he, too, had been reborn.

I was reborn .

In his previous life, it was Victor who stole the badge and went to Radiant City to enjoy a life of luxury .

I was sent to the rock fortress in the border mining town to do hard labor.

He was exiled to Radiant City for his incompetence, while I lived in hiding in Shattered Stone Fortress, turning my healing power into killing techniques, and forcibly building up the second largest human power.

In the end, he became insanely jealous and sacrificed his soul to attract the Lord of the Abyss, causing my soul power to be sealed and me to be thrown into a horde of demons and eaten alive for seven days and seven nights!

In the moment before he died, I watched as he was devoured by the abyss, and all of humanity perished as a result.

But now, he has actually given up his spot.

He wants to steal my script and become king of Shattered Stone Castle!

I sneered.

Go on, you foolish brother.

Do you think those bloodthirsty thugs in Shattered Stone Fortress would recognize you as their savior without my self-created counter-attack techniques? They would just devour you whole, skin and bones.

"Thanks, brother." I forced a grateful smile at his retreating figure.

Victor didn't even turn his head, eagerly climbing into the carriage.

I turned and boarded the flying boat of Radiant City.

There's no time to deal with a dead man's daydream; a more deadly crisis is already on the countdown.

The roar of the airship's engine blocked out the winds of the wilderness.

I shoved away the messenger who tried to strike up a conversation, locked the hatch , grabbed a charcoal pencil, and began sketching frantically on an entire sheet of parchment.

Black lines intertwine to form a net, depicting the marching routes of the Abyss Monarch, the distribution of Shadow Demon lairs, and the lurking points of high-level monsters... Every stroke carries a chilling, bloody scent.

By the time I finished drawing the map, we had arrived at Radiant City .

In the vast square, the luxurious scent of perfume mixed with flower petals wafted through the air.

This is a peaceful city.

At the end of the red carpet stood an incongruous figure.

Wearing light silver armor and a scarlet cloak, she is Olivia, the city lord , the madwoman who died on the city wall in her previous life while protecting civilians.

Her clear yet sharp gaze locked onto me, and she was about to step forward to exchange pleasantries.

I grabbed the map and strode towards her .

"presumptuous!"

Dozens of enchanted longswords were instantly drawn, crisscrossing into a net, pressed firmly against my throat and chest.

The cold glint of the sword was only half an inch from my carotid artery. I didn't even blink, staring straight at Olivia through the crisscrossing blades.

Olivia raised her hand and pressed it against the adjutant's sword: "Give him a chance to speak."

I gave her the parchment: "Within seven days, a beast tide of 100,000 will erupt in the Abyss Rift. The target is this Radiant City beneath your feet."

The moment the words left his mouth, the square fell into such silence that even the sound of falling leaves could be clearly heard.

The dozens of sharp blades pressed against my throat trembled slightly as I desperately tried to protect my master.

The master of ceremonies screamed in exasperation, "Madman! How dare he curse Radiant City! Seize him immediately!"

"Shut up, all of you!" Olivia suddenly raised her hand and swung the blade away.

She lowered her head, staring intently at the map , her eyes not filled with anger at being offended, but rather with a sharp, resolute glint.

"Send word to the Shadow Ranger!" Her voice boomed across the plaza. "Verify the coordinates on the map immediately!"

Just three hours later , Shadow Ranger sent back a message.

"Thirty miles to the west, Shadow Demons...are everywhere..."

The red dots on the parchment had completely transformed into deadly blood omens.

Olivia ordered : "Level 1 alert throughout the city! Immediately issue an emergency mobilization order, suspend all commerce and trade , and construct defensive fortifications!"

"I object!"

Deputy City Lord Raymond stood up.

This level eight ice mage's eyes were full of arrogance and disdain.

mere outsider spreading panic with a tattered map is enough to shut down all the city's commerce?" Raymond sneered. "Lord City Lord, have you been brainwashed by this charlatan? We nobles would never send anyone to do such lowly work as repairing walls!"

As he incited them, several nobles snorted coldly, and some even turned and walked away.

I don't expect Olivia to keep these idiots in check.

“Raymond,” I called out to him .

Raymond's face was full of sneer: "What? Is the Healer going to strangle me with bandages?"

"You bunch of useless cowards who only know how to put on airs in the safe zone." I ripped off my cumbersome robe and looked down at him coldly. "You can't even beat a healer like me, what right do you have to talk about a strike here?"

"court death!"

The oppressive aura of an eighth-level mage descended with a deafening roar.
